I forgot how frustrating a cliffhanger every episode was. They figured out a winning strategy, and they're sticking to it, it seems. Except that strategy is frustrating as hell: Give the audience a moment to think that it can't possibly get any worse, and then immediately make it worse. It really just feels like a continuation of last season. And the way they tease out character deaths, giving you all the flags, but then don't kill them until you don't expect it any more, and pulling out resurrection bullshit when thematically convenient. I still say they kept Bakugo dead too long, like even when sticking to bullshit of their universe, It just feels like they needed to bury an ace, else they couldn't just keep making the situation worse. Director: Ok, that's Stain dead, who's next on the list to torture the audience with? Assistant: No one, sir. You've injured or killed all the heroes; there's no one left who could realistically turn the tides without breaking flow/immersion. Director: Shit, I have a whole season to go... Alright, time to Deus Ex Machina this bitch. Assistant: But sir, with a whole season of runtime left, you might have to jump the shark later. Director: Eh, it's fine, it's the last season; what are they going to do, cancel the series?
