I'm still not convinced by this anime, since the premise is such a carbon copy of Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer, but I don't detect too much bullcrap either in the first episode, so I'll keep watching a bit longer.

This is another of the slow-burner series. Currently it has more than 150 manga chapters and is still going. Very character driven, shitty prince that our lovely bitch Karma is waiting for :) One has to invest time to get to like this show, but it is good :D

Sounds like he knows he's strong, the King (and likely other adult nobles) know he's strong, and he was assigned to be a shoelacer for the teenage Prince and friends who wanted to go adventuring then the teenagers got him booted because commoner.
