The core plot is fighting against the waves and the 4 guardian beasts Well next season should be volumes 15 and 16 , and if you read the light novels you know that it will be PEAK

So this kingdom has some obvious Japan vibes, right? They even bowed to Filo because she vaguely resembled the Sakura trees. What's more Japanese than a Tanuki? Raphtalia is a demi-tanuki. The current emperor appears demi-tanuki. Plot twist: That kid is Naofumi and Raphtalia's child from the future. I enjoyed the "scenery" of this arc, but I'm ready for it to be over and back to the core plot.

Talk about character Development Raphtalia went from slave to Sidekick to hero to Emperor And Motoyasu's new party members are his Filolials if you didn't notice they are literally girls with wings on their backs just like filo in her human form and we already knew that motoyasu has Filolials
