Reiner: "I want to learn how to be a good swordsman, not a good wife!" Mom: "Porque no lo dos?" I don't even know why Reiner is against it, she clearly likes Arel, and Arel has stated multiple times that she is his type. You can't make this more clear-cut. And I love how the mom goes all like "Karate Kid", teaching her skills unrelated to swordsmanship supposed to help her in herof her sword training. So his father never taught him magic for his own reasons! I see! I was wondering why the son of a renowned magician only used swords.

His thing is watching others and learning what they do... meaning if he masters the script reading then he should learn spells by watching them be casted. Which actually is broken in this world that relies on skills. Others using skills had to jump through certain hoops to be ALLOWED to cast a spell. Our MC watches them once and repeats what he saw by doing everything himself immediately afterwards. Brilliant.
