Who the heck told you she did stand up lol Iβve never seen or heard of that but yeah sheβs insanely funny, sheβs done movies and such. She has a very dark dry humor in real life too.

Aubrey's husband passed away last year, ruled a suicide. She in the last 6 months or so has been very public about how horrible it was and how miserable she is. I genuinely feel so bad for her. It was ruled a suicide.

To answer your question about the background of Aubrey Plaza (who plays April): no she didn't really do stand-up. Her feature film debut was in the movie "Funny People" where she played a stand-up comedian and since she had no experience prior to that role, she signed up for some open mics to prepare, but that is not her background. Maybe you saw that movie? Or a clip from it?
