Ha at Damo's impression of a Dickensian shoeshine child - the Cockney accent's a perfect fit for that! Tina Turner and Angela Merkel are famous examples of women who kept their ex-husband's last name after a divorce, and certainly in Tina's case it was to further her career and build on the name 'brand' she'd established. But as you said that can't really be the case for Tammy Swanson, it's less clear what her motives are other than just psychological powerplay with Ron! The only Tammy I can name off the top of my head is country legend Tammy Wynette of 'Stand By Your Man' fame (who also featured on the KLF classic 'Justified & Ancient'). It seems like one of those extremely American-coded names, and even then not really past the 1950s/60s.
