Those stories sound so cruel 😫 Poor Subaru can't catch a break in any possible reality.

There is an official "what if" story where Subaru turns evil and Elsa falls in love with him. There are actually several of these "IF" stories which diverge from the real story when a character makes a different choice. For example the "Rem IF" is the story starting when Rem decides to accept Subaru's offer to run away with him to Kararagi, and they marry and have children. Images from this story, showing Subaru and Rem with long hair and their children, were shown for a split second as an easter egg when Lye Batenkaitos ate Rem's name and memories, since the last thing she thought about was this idea. In the other IF stories, they usually result in Subaru going down a dark path, such as Subaru deciding not to yell for help in the alley when he's attacked by thugs, and just restarts over and over until he can kill them himself, or Subaru running away from Roswaal mansion in fear (instead of jumping off the cliff), and turning into a paranoid criminal who can't trust anyone. There's even one where he accepts the contract with Echidna, and gradually loses his emotions because she convinces him to keep restarting over and over to fix trivial things.

Haha no worries. Its not a romantic relationship that Subaru and Beatrice have. Subaru doesn't see her in that way, nor does she. Subaru could be considered Beatrice's first friend that she's finally allowed herself to have ever since the loss of Ryuzu.
