I don’t think they hate her at all , not like most hair-trigger reactors. They’re understandably frustrated by her stubbornness & indoctrination. I think that’s fair at this point in the story.

#YT It’s easy for a lot of people to hate Gabi, I’m not saying you guys do, seems more like just annoyance, but just a reminder, she and her family are still being oppressed or “punished” for the sins of ancestors, so she’s likely thinking it’s unfair to think that Kaya isn’t feeling that same shame. Also Gabi has spent her whole life trying to escape that taboo and show that she’s better than those “island devils” and hasn’t questioned it. If all of what she told was lies or propaganda, what has she been working so hard for and why has her family had to live in such poor conditions. It’s almost easier for her to believe it, she’s almost desperate to believe it. It’s definitely naive and ignorant, but I feel like it’s at least somewhat understandable for her to be so devoted to that mindset
