Construction Pit Miniature - Early Stage Approval
🕑 Added 2025-07-31 04:37:27 +0000 UTCMatt and I headed up to Tomm Jacobson's workshop to have a look at the roughing out for the construction pit miniature. The plan here is to build out the construction pit in miniature form and to put a scale model of the restaurant in it (taking full advantage of Matt's thousands of hours of experience now doing miniature painting).
I have a crazy idea of doing photogrammetry at different times of day so that this can hopefully function as our background plates for shots from inside the restaurant and it'll also let us blow up a miniature of the restaurant for the finale.
We've worked with Tomm in the past, incidentally - he built the snowy mountain exterior at the beginning of our short Tip Jar - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNY7P6yWrfY and he also built the sunken town in Dude Bro Party Massacre III.

Ideally I have a time of day model we can fly around in and precisely place into the background for vfx!
