I will be doing the following structure for all of our weekly posts going forward. I'll include word order notes on a few of the longer ones, in part to check my own work and as a mini refresher. I will also mark some of the new words with a (✰) to draw your attention to them if you are the note-taking type.

➼ In Wyransith to sing means to express an emotion or emotion state. In English, we tend to embody our emotions. We are happy. The kids are frustrated. They will be angry.
Conversely, in Spanish we sometimes embody emotions. Ellas estan emocionadas, they are excited. Sometimes we have them. Tengo miedo, I have scared. It's a bit more complex than that, but for the purpose of learning Wyransith, just keep in mind that if you see the verb "zairyn" (to sing) + an emotion, you can interpret it as "to feel."
You might also notice that the verb "to speak" is zair, which shares various verb forms with zairyn. You'll have to rely on context to understand which is being expressed.

Kereveth is a verb used almost exclusively in a sexual context, it is a gentler form of kreleth (to fuck) but cruder and more impersonal than cywiraeth (to make love).

Conclusion
Okay, that was the majority of the Wyransith from last week's updates! Poor MC has no idea what she's gotten herself into with these two. Their dynamic with the MC in Dark Maiden is particularly fun to write because they're basically treating her like an object. Something to quarrel with, something to use, something to possess, but don't really acknowledge her dignity. Even in delaying sex with her, there's the sense that Valdricht is just saving a nice snack for later. He just came not too long before toying with her and intends to take her in the evening once he can thoroughly enjoy her. While the setup for Dark Maiden is quite toxic, it'll make the storyline all the better when the MC either learns to bite back or to use their own tactics against them.

I do love the commentary! 😆 I think I did pretty well overall! I'm gonna put a little star beside every word/phrase I managed to get close with/correct and see how many I have by the time the game is completed! ⭐ Actually, now that I'm thinking about it: How will Erudite be exhibited in DMR? Most of the traits can be expressed non-verbally, but so far Erudite in the other routes involves MC dropping five dollar words and academic rambling whenever she's able. Displaying the breadth of her knowledge seems definitely harder when she's having to painstakingly piece a language together. Will MC have other ways to show off her education or will that trait just not be visible to the guys until much later on?

#1 is definitely a typo, vek goes on an infinitive, as for the rest I'll have to go over it again later this week. If I get started preening over it now, it's all I'll end up doing for the rest of the night. Like I mentioned last week, it'll take me a few weeks to adapt to writing in it and I may make some errors in the earlier translations. The original Wyransith was a lot simpler. I added a lot of new verb forms and more complex grammar rules in the rework to accommodate the bigger usage. Sometimes I default to the old structures without realizing it.

✅ 1) Why "Thy gythyn?" for "Are you hungry?" Would it not be "Thy gythys?" using the second person ending? SOLVED: typo! ✅ 2) I know 'vir usually takes the infinitive and 'dra the inflected, but what about 'vek? I ask because I noticed kalar'vek and ceysar'vek used the infinitive. SOLVED: 'vek and 'vir both take infinitive, 'dra takes inflected. 3) Which verb inflection is used for "we" (eri'th)? First person, same as the eri forms? 4) I saw two different sentences where the subject is dropped and an infinitive is used. (to warm my cock, to warm our bed furs.) Is the subject the only argument that can be dropped? Can this only happen with the plain infinitive form? Besides context, is there any way to tell if the single argument is the subject or the object? Like, can there be "my bed furs to warm"? If the answer is context that's very fair but I wanted to check. 5) Is "veskara" inflected? All the "thy" forms I've seen so far end in "s" but "Thy veskara" doesn't. Exception? 6) okay i saw you liked the comment which scares me cause I'm not done going through it all but i will continue on bravely 🫡🫡🫡 ok so: Is it true to say that some verb combinations have the first verb inflected, and others don't? Like, for verb + tharrah, the tharrah is inflected, but the 1st verb is infinitive. But for verb + geleth, both verbs are inflected... right? Basing this on the two usages of kethir (and assuming rather boldly that kethir is the infinitive). If so I'll make a list of the two groups. (I realize that maybe this is influenced by the fact that we say "I can go" but not "*I can to go" and "I want to go" and not "*I want go" in English.) 7) Why is "Eri a vira'vir" translated as "I'm coming" here and not "Come to me", following the pattern of "Yn a myndir’vir"? You have it translated as "come to me" on another post I think. 8) Any rules for prepositions vs postpositions, or do they have to be memorized? Most seem to be postpositions like "val" and "a" etc but "vyn" as "into" seems to be a preposition in "Which god cast you into my path?" Is this the intended word order? 9) You have "rhasir" as specifically "to cast" but since it's appearing before 'dra it should be inflected, right? Is that both the inflected and the third person?
