Patreon devlog update 121: memory cards
🕑 Added 2024-10-06 04:02:49 +0000 UTCoof had some trouble getting to work today, a ton of IRL small issues. apologies. This extra zap & andy update is kind of small because of that.
all i managed to do was finishing up the casino bar animations for the barfly , such as the talking animation
and the pouring animation (still needs some work)
aside from that i spent most of today working on another minigame you'll be able to play in the casino to accrue sins, wich is a simple card matching game.
Since the types of cards available are 9 i had to think of a theme for the illustrations that would go on them. At first i thought about the nine planets and their respective gods, but then i realized that i had the perfect theme on a silver platter; the nine circles of hell from dante's inferno.
there isn't much space in the screen for proper illustrations, so basically every time you match a pair of card you'll get a big version of the card that would then burst into flame.
after deciding that i went on and started drawing the cards themselves, i only managed to draw three due to the aforementioned issues:
the first circle, the elysian fields of limbo-
the second circle, the eternal tempest of lust-
and the third circle, the soggy, rainy swamps of gluttony.
these card illustrations are pretty fun to do, and i'll probably be able to knock them out by next time, but for now this is all i have! hope you peeps like them! until next time!
