There is a world above the one that the mortal races walk upon. A better world. A richer world. Like the cream that rises to the top, the realm of the fae looms far in the distant skies, laughing and jeering at the pathetic lives of mortals. The fae own the mortal world, you see, it is their propierty, their fiefdom. Mortals owe them respect, fear and whatever they might desire. It doesn't matter if they have no knowledge of the fae, or if they demand years of their lives, or their first kiss, or the name of their firstborn : The fae have means to collect their taxes from the peasants. One of the simplest, but most effective way to exact payment from their subjects (after the stupid mortals fail to interpret the clear signs that they owe the fae) is to send an Ogre.
WHAT OGRES ARE MADE OF

Ogres are created from the rawest and most durable materials that float in the fae realms, wich means nothing but the dreaded cold cast iron can actually harm them. They are boisterous, jolly, and absolutely devious. They live for their duty, but they want to have fun while doing it. You can delay an ogre from collecting his payment for a long time by offering him whatever goods you have in your possession as a bribe ; But you better have a LOT of it, because ogres are notoriously insatiable.

fae don't trade in money or vulgar mortal items like gold or gemstones. They see the truth of the world, and know that civilizations will eventually fall, their money rendered forever useless, and that gold and other materials have intrinsic value only for the lowly, dimwitted mortals that can't even transform a soap bubble into a ruby. And so, what they desire is what makes the little planet unique. Those pesky , ridiculous emotions, those unique trait the mortals have , and their little accomplishments , and all their pretty little things. So when
an ogre knocks at your door, it isn't after your money: it wants something that is TRULY, TRULY precious of you.
GOBLINS

if you can't pay up, you'll have offended the fae. That means that, if you're lucky, the threads of fate that holds your pathetic little life together will be cut, and you will be rendered into a form that is more suitable to the pathetic, short lived worm you are. Your soul and your mind will be collected into one of the ogre's pouches and what will be left of the shell you left behind will shrivel and become green and silly, and playful and reckless. A goblin is born.
A VOID THAT NEEDS TO BE FILLED

some fae would wrinkle their nose in disgust if you dared to call a goblin one of their kind, but that's technically the truth. Goblins are empty shells, bloated by the fae void that is left when something is ripped forcibly from reality by the fair folk. They are sentient, but extremely dull ,mean spirited and capricious : You won't accomplish much by asking help from a goblin, but you'll obtain great results if you sic them down somewhere to cause chaos and mischief. Goblins are carnally attracted by anything fae : they will rub themselves all over anything that comes from the outer realms , often to the point of orgasm, almost like cats with catnip. This is why ogres are often followed by droves of them (almost surely the result of tax collecting gone bad) , intent of getting as much contact as possible with the beasts. Ogres don't mind the attention, as they are too low on the hyerarchy of the fae to be considered worthy of having intercourse with the fair folk, but still too high above mortals to consider mating with them in their putrid fleshy forms .

Surprised that you made goblins dependent upon Mortals especially in an entry not centered around them. In some way it's you have the ogres replacing the Djinn The design being part puppy part hippo it's also something I hadn't considered. This one however feels a bit thinner than your others. Oh it's inspiring but I wouldn't be too surprised if you wanted to publish this you did a little refinement or revised in the future I can't even think what it is that I want else just this feels a bit abrupt

Yowza! Like how you make Ogres. Too bad they're not one for mating with mortals, I wouldn't mind dating one at all. Guess I'll have to suffer being a goblin then XD
