What to do with Mei?

Hey everyone,
So I mentioned before that I wanted to do a poll about Meiko and what her role in the story is going to be. There has been quite a bit of speculation on Discord about what the poll is going to be about, well it's time to clear all that up.
I'm going to try and keep this vague and avoid spoilers.
My intention for Meiko, as one of the side girls in the story is that she would have her time in the game and eventually once her story had been told she would move on, possibly making an appearance later on. But she has become sort of a fan favourite and a quite a few people consider her part of the core group now. She's even won best girl once.
So, I thought I would give you guys the chance to decide her fate.
The first choice is to keep her story as I originally intended. Any lewd scenes with her will be optional and she will eventually leave the story, but may come back later on.
The second choice is that she joins the golden trio and makes it a foursome. Some of her lewd scenes will be mandatory like with Lilly and Becca. And she will be part of the story until the end.
Happy voting everyone, her fate is in your hands now!

Not really weak, just he's had a hell of a last few months that can not have made focusing easy and, as he's in business for himself and the type of very personal, hands-on business that it is, it makes sense that he's been having problems. I'm guessing that, with the divorce final and Abby's and his home secured, he'll get himself back on track--even with the Becca Plan in full swing.

Mei as a main girl and they end up being a really dynamic business couple. I'm hoping the dad is eventually more successful himself instead of just falling into assets. It just leans into the narrative of him being kinda weak to constantly be given things by other people. He should be able to do things for his daughters himself. Mei can help ;-)

yes I know. I was suggesting she become a live-in assistant
Paul Newmon
No. Shopkeeper's daughter.

I'd rather see Mei as his main girlfriend and others as side action.

mei is in live-in assistant?

Sorry to be late to the party, but here's my 2 cents: make her an optional path. Give us a point where we can decide to bring her all the way into the "family", or let her go. I personally like the dynamic created by the three central girls; with both their long-term relationship to the MC and roles in Becca's Master Plan. To me Mei interferes with that, she feels somewhat tacked on, an outside element to the story, but I can see how some would like her as a character. I also understand how an optional route increases the complexity of your plotting and illustrating' and that that's an issue to both you guys workload and regular release times; so, in the end, go with whatever works best.

I'd like to see a middle ground between the two...

I prefer the original 3

seeing becca "show her the ropes" sounds like a good time

Personally I'd rather she remain a side girl, but in the end as long as we can choose how much interaction we have with her its fine either way.

Everyone else has a concept of what role they'd like to fill in the MC's life. To use Jungian labels: we have a maiden, a child, and a mother. But it's a toss-up who wants to be mother vs who actually is. Mei has to discover what is fulfilling to her. Even if that's what she "doesn't mind doing" or "likes to take care of us" she should have value beyond that. Being with her as she's finding that out for herself, with or without us, is what matters to me. If she's faced with the possibility of leaving for a while I'd like the option of having something to offer her if she'll stay, just as a "you can have that here too" scenario. Having the store and the realty business at our fingertips offers a lot of opportunities.

Yeah, I completely agree with this statement, I figured the dev would work Beth and Nessa into the group too. Especially, if Beth might have the MC baby. I don't see him being able to not be a big part of the lives of any children he sires.

Best answer!!

Which ever way the votes goes, I think that Mei should stay with whatever your original intentions were. You haven't steered us wrong yet, and I have faith you will continue in a way that entertains.

While I really like Mei, I think her staying a side girl is the way to go. It was how she was always intended. Switching up stories in the middle doesn't always work.

The harem must grow.
TheNobster
Team Mei all the way!! Honestly can't imagine the game without her ^_^

You could split the story and include both paths. But yeah, she's family now. She needs to stay.

Make her a main girl, love Maiko!

I was honestly under the impression that all of the poster girls, Beth and Nessa included, were counted as Main Girls in some fashion, that could stay in the harem all the way to the end and beyond; so to hear that Mei was considered a side girl is pretty surprising.Characters like Darla or Madison, for example, are more what I thought of as a side girl.

She can be the legal wife after all
Kameohawk
Team Meiko ftw

I am dreaming of Vanessa seducing Meiko....maybe the MC might dream about that too. Meiko should join the team, especially after she is taught how to be a good wife by the MC.
DeadMan
I feel like Mei could be an interesting addition as she could end up liking both the MC and other girls. Mostly Becca other than the MC. I get this from the way she is with Becca and the other girls.

On one hand I would like the writer to do as he intended, on the other hand I really like Mei to keep on having an active role in the story ... So i vote for the last!
Crimsonfiend76
I agree, while we haven't received a whole lot of time with her, the girls have all taken to her and more or less adopted her. It seems like her official inclusion into the harem has been building and it would be quite a disappointment for her to just leave only to maybe come back. I
Clever name games
I would never toss her away like that. Her story as I originally intended it would have been a mutual understanding of what was happening and she would not be hurt by it. If her being a side girl loses (Seems likely right now. lol) I'll eventually make a post on Discord of what my plans were with her.

A group without meiko can't imagine

I love Meiko! <3

I kind of feel like it would be a betrayal of her father to have him sacrificing for Meiko to spend time with you, only for you to just have a fling with her. Plus, to have her give herself to Frank the way she has, only to leave her as a side piece, seems wrong. Frank doesn't strike me as a womanizer, so a story arc where Meiko is just a side chick seems implausible to me.
