I 100% think Keane has known Noct was Onyx most of the time they've been chatting. I was rereading and there was a moment early on Keane was suspicious and then he started the whole texting Noct goodnight and then telling Onyx goodnight. Keane isn't as dumb or as unobservant as Onyx thinks he is. I can also see Keane not telling Onyx he knows he's Noct because he's trying to respect Onyx and waiting for him to come forward. I can see Keane thinking Onyx was okay to meet him at the anon-chat as a sign to move forward with his feelings.

Communication arc would hit sooooooo hard. Keane letting onyx know how painful it’s been. Letting him know how his lies hurt and how he needed someone to talk to. Letting him know why he really hesitated that day and how he just went for the absolute worst assumption when it wasn’t at all that. How he does seem to think Keane is a good person at all after all this time! And onyx could get on Keane for being so carefree and not realizing how bad things could’ve gotten 😭. For not realizing what onyx needed (which is reasonable since they are both super young but with the damage onyx has I can see why he’d go crazy). My dad almost killed me is WILD. Maybe they even talk about how there is resentment forstarting the lynx thing too and Keane let’s onyx know that he only came up with that character because he wanted to be with onyx.

He did and Keane, while telling onyx he knows he’s lying, still probably 8% believe it could be true. He knows onyx well but he’s still a little insecure. Who wouldn’t be when the person u like keeps avoiding you and keeps pushing you away. I think it’s cruel that onyx catfished him, but just like how keane partially believed that onyx was lying about Kai but partially wasn’t sure, I think keane also knew he was onyx but wasnt 100% sure until seeing him. This is the reason why keane would ignore onyx to talk to him little pen pal. Because he mostly knew that he wasn’t ignoring onyx because he was talking to onyx.

I'm glad Keane recognized him, because he isn't THAT dense. On the other hand, I'm a little annoyed with Onyx having such little faith in Keane. It's almost like he used this chance to catfish him as a "test" which is complete and utter bullshit (I don't care, fight me on this). 🙄 Like, not only have the two of them been best friends forever, but Keane did come ALL this way, throwing away an Ivy League education to find Onyx, and he still didn't have enough trust in him that his feelings are real? Ok, so the app thing was probably a mind game, with him knowing it was Keane, but feeling like Keane was "falling" for someone else. However, the moment they met, I'm with Keane on this one - Did he not think he would know it was him? C'mon Onyx, cut Keane some slack here. I honestly think Onyx also has no confidence in himself, which also plays a part in his immediate responses to run. It's not just him doubting Keane's feelings for him, but him deep down feeling like he doesn't deserve to be loved by Keane (part trauma and part shame I think). There is no other way to swing this. He's afraid he's not worthy, is probably still dealing with trauma caused by his shitty father, and also still feeling a bit of shame from being gay. So when someone like Keane, who he's been close with and in love with all his life, reciprocates his feelings, he probably feels like it's a joke or too good to be true. As a result, he chooses to run away, rather than face it head-on. I always said since last season that Onyx was a flighty little thing. Who better to ground him than his best friend and first love? Hopefully, they talk this out because they've been on this hamster wheel long enough...😫

Dude I honestly feel bad for keane. First onyx just ditches him and then when keane finds him he lies and says he has a boyfriend. Then onyx is always being mean and giving him the cold shoulder or running away or just pushing him away and hurting him. Then they meet on anonchat and go to that party and kiss and looks like to everything is gonna get fixed but then onyx freaks out. Thinks keane doesn’t love him and thinks he doesn’t know that he is onyx. Then goes off on him. Wouldn’t even trust keane and believe in him and wouldn’t let him speak. I'M CRYING! Onyx's outrage and Keane's speech after got me. I do feel horrible for Onyx and all he's gone through but Keane is right and I feel SO bad for him. To see how little your best friend/love of your life trusts you and how little confidence they have in you this whole time isn't easy.
