Coming back and watching again, Burning Blue deserved a better music video than a simple ass warehouse and blue lighting! Picture this!!! A Y2K themed music video that has a whole storyline of her with an actor playing her partner, and they act out a story of them arguing them making up. There’s beautiful glamor shots of Mariah opening the song and going through the first half with some solo shots of her, some with the dude. Some of them being loving, then having a minor disagreement that grew bigger. He leaves her to get space, there’s solo shots of her distressed, maybe even crying. Add a few shots of the dancers and “choreography”. Then to shots showing her by her car on the phone acting like she’s otp with him. The actor trying to call her back and he picks up apology flowers on his was back to her. There’s rain, there’s a car accident, idk but whatever to make it dramatic and create obstacles from him getting to Mariah “on time”. Back to more glamor shots of Mariah doing her thing, maybe some shots of her in beautiful blue waters or clothes. Then boom. From his POV it’s revealed they planned to meet meet at her house and there’s rain, Mariah starts to tear up cause for her this was her last shot with him & he didn’t show up for her, then towards then end the camera pans back to him outdid her house standing in the rain trying to get her to come let him in. As the final chorus comes in and fades out, she goes downstairs to meet with him at the door and make up. Idk but this was just off the top of my head but yeah now that I hear the song I wish it took a similar approach and went all in on a Y2K type of storyline for the music video rather than something that in hindsight feels too simplistic for how good it actually is without the visuals.
