After Bernadetta, Ingrid, Leonie, and Petra were absent from that day’s war council session, Edelgard and Hubert had grown concerned. Even Bernadetta, though she was a notorious recluse, wouldn’t have skipped without letting someone know.
The emperor and her right hand man had split up to search the monastery while Byleth and the rest of the Black Eagle Strike Force were out to deal with a relatively routine battle with bandits. If the Monastery had been compromised and her allies killed, it would be difficult to fend off a full-scale attack without her generals.
As Edelgard strutted towards the mess hall, she noticed rather large figures moving about through the open doorway. Rushing in, she found herself staring at three anthropomorphic beings; a shark, an elephant, and a hippopotamus.
“Oh! It is Lady Edelgard!” The elephant chimed with a familiar voice.
“Petra!?” Edelgard’s jaw dropped.
“Hey!” The hippo added.
“Leonie!?”
The shark simply flashed a big, toothy grin, leaning against the wall with both pairs of arms crossed. She definitely resembled Bernadetta in body, but certainly not in body language.
“And… Bernadetta, is that you? What in the seven hells happened to you!?” The emperor rubbed her eyes in disbelief, but when she took a second look, the scene was just as absurd as it was the first time.
“I learned some magic~” Bernie snapped her fingers, causing an expertly-controlled flame to ignite at her fingertips. “So I helped give ourselves a makeover!”
“I… I… I’m speechless…” Edelgard muttered, shifting her glance from one woman to the next.
“You should be joining us, Lady Edelgard!” Petra trumpeted brightly. “We will be having much enjoyment together!”
Sharkadetta could see it written all over Edelgard’s blushing face: the burning desire held captive under her authoritative demeanor; the envy in her soul that could never be fulfilled under the weight of her duties and responsibilities. She knew just the thing to give the crimson-clad leader the life she desired, but it would take the full extent of her peerless magical abilities.
Closing her eyes, Bernie channelled her will through time itself as she cast a complicated spell over the entire planet. She imagined a world where their current continent-consuming war never began in the first place; a world where everyone, including Edelgard, would live much more fulfilling and constructive lives.
Meanwhile, the eyes of Petra, Leonie, and Edelgard gained a lilac-hued glow to them. Their faces drew blank expressions for a moment as their reality - and their pasts - were rewritten. When their trance faded away and their eyes returned to normal, Edelgard felt rather unnerved.
“Wh-what just… happened?” She held her head as a bout of vertigo came and went.
“What are you meaning, El?” Petra asked casually.
“E-El!? How did you-!?” Edelgard winced. “S-something doesn’t feel right! Th-there’s something happening… t-to my mind…”
Bernadetta, meanwhile, opened her eyes and took a few deep breaths. “So, time hasn’t caught up with you yet, hmm? Interesting. Don’t worry El, it’ll all be back to normal in just a moment~”
“N-no! P-please refer to me by my name! I am Edelgard von Hest… von Hrella… v-van… Nnng!” The more she tried to focus on her own name, the more confused she became. One name began to emerge from the jumble, however: Edelgard Kinsella.
“Oh dear, are you alright El?” Leonie’s pudgy hippo face furrowed in concern.
Holding her head in her hands, it felt as if Edelgard’s hair was moving of its own volition. She felt a vague twisting sensation on her scalp as her twin buns unfurled and began to rearrange into a new hairstyle. A warm sensation sizzled on her skin where regal purple tattoos appeared; on her upper arms and under her right eye.
At the same time, her pristine crimson attire unravelled around her, shifted in hue and material, then wove back together on her body in a completely new form. Gone were the heavy fabrics of her overwear and dense leather armour beneath, and in their place was a gorgeous dress of light, flowing silks in a pretty array of violets, oranges, and browns. The disoriented woman was taken aback by how unencumbered she felt, but had no recollection of ever wearing anything weightier before in her life.
Edelgard’s new sleeveless outfit revealed her arm tattoos to her for what she figured must have been the first time, though a part of her felt intimately familiar with them - as if they’d been a part of her body and her very identity for ages.
“Wh-what are you doing to me…? This feels… s-so strange!”
“What are you talking about El? You’ve always enjoyed being here with your girlfriends~” Sharkadetta teased knowingly.
Edelgard dug her nails into her scalp, which just returned her attention to her long, braided hair draped over her shoulder. She watched as colour gradually flooded through each strand of her white hair, returning from white to its natural rich violet hue.
“W-wait, no, this isn’t my normal hair colour at all!” Edelgard shrieked, but didn’t feel very convinced by her own words.
“Take it easy darling, your past is being rewritten! Soon you’ll forget you were ever any different, so just enjoy it while it lasts~” Bernie dropped the pretense, speaking soothingly as she approached the panic-stricken lady.
“N-no! Stay back!! Wh-whatever you have d-done with Bernadetta- you cannot be making me change, too!! I won’t… I w-will n-not let y-!!” Edelgard was interrupted as she inadvertently backed into the big, soft elephant woman behind her.
“Do not be worrying El, we are here for you…” Petra’s voice echoed through her long trunk in an almost hypnotic resonance. “I will be keeping you safe.”
“Y-you will… what?” When she turned to face Petra, the sight of the Brigid royal stirred feelings of safety and subservience within her. Since when did she ever let her subby feelings get so strong? “Y-your majesty, I-!?”
Having spoken without thought, Edelgard paused when she heard the words leave her mouth. Petra was the queen of Brigid, right? She thought that was right, but defiant yet fading thoughts shook her mental fortitude. Petra was the queen of Brighid, and Edelgard was the Adrestian Province’s emper… emprincess… p-princess? Princess. She was the princess of House Kinsella, royal family of the Adrestian Province of Brigid…? Something about that felt all wrong - her very existence felt like a blur at the moment.
“Oh El, it is adorable when you are calling me ‘your majesty’...” Petra wrapped Edelgard up in a warm hug while using her trunk to gently stroke the Adrestian’s blushy cheek. Leonie quickly joined, completing the hug sandwich.
El could do naught but melt into her lovers’ touch as the feeling of safety and comfort flooded her senses. Being held between two pregnant bellies made her feel loved and part of a true family. After a moment absorbing the warmth of those closest to her, the pieces in her mind all fell into place.
She was Edelgard Kinsella, princess of the Adrestian Province of Brigid. The former Adrestian Empire had been defeated by Brigid nearly fifty years ago, and ever since, it had prospered under Brigid rule. She was childhood friends with Petra, then the crown princess of Brigid, who had always stood up for her… always taken care of her. They fell in love and were in a wonderful polycule together, and Edelgard was hoping her darling Petra would soon ask her hand in marriage…
“Nnng… I think I am feeling better now…” Edelgard muttered as she rubbed her eyes. When she gazed upon Petra and Leonie, she couldn’t help but feel her panties dampen and her heart pang with envy. “You are both so beautiful! I am wishing I could… b-be more like you…” The rewritten Adrestian princess needily hugged Petra’s soft trunk.
“How about it, Bernie? Can you change El too?” Leonie asked the shark girl.
Having caught her breath and regained composure, Bernadetta’s tail swished back and forth in excitement. “I was hoping you’d ask~” And with that, she snapped her fingers to cast another comparably simple spell.
Immediately Edelgard felt her body begin to grow. The loose fabric draped over her gorgeous curves began to feel tighter as her height increased closer to that of her tall lovers. Soft, adorably large elephant ears grew into place, and her little button nose began to reform and stretch out. “It is happening!! Petra, Leonie, I am finally becoming like you!!”
The pair again smooshed their expanding girlfriend between their round, pregnant bellies in a hug full of love. With her inflating breasts and thickening thighs pushing out against her silken dress, Edelgard felt enclosed… felt safe, felt protected. Everything would be alright as long as she was here with her girlfriends… Her family…
As her nose gradually grew and reshaped itself, El felt Petra’s trunk slowly wrap around her own. The sensation of having a prehensile trunk was euphoric in a way she had never before imagined, and she couldn’t help but use it to squeeze that of her hopefully-future wife.
“Lady Petra…” Edelgard murmured comfortably. “My sweet Queen…”
Though she had grown, Edelgard was still rather short compared to the other anthro women around her. As soon as she realised she had finished expanding, her outfit finally gave out and exploded into a burst of confetti-like shreds. Now, her soft chubby tum, her big round breasts, her gorgeous firm glutes, and her drippy pussy lips were exposed for all to see. Finally, a smooth elephant tail with a soft tuft of violet hair quickly grew out from her tailbone, completing her big, cuddly elephantine conversion.
“Mmm, you are looking exquisite, El~” Petra hummed possessively as she used her trunk to stroke her princess-girlfriend’s lush hair.
Edelgard’s face flushed and her floppy ears flicked flusteredly. Then, she noticed one more change: her tummy was beginning to swell!
“Oh my!! I am becoming even larger!!”
As El rapidly progressed through the early and middle stages of magical pregnancy, Leonie and Petra couldn’t help but ever-so gently rub their girlfriend’s warm stomach as it ballooned out. When the expansion ended, Petra placed a large ear to Edelgard’s belly bulge.
“...I am hearing it kick!” The queen gasped giddily.
“Ahh!! We are soon to be mamas!!” El suddenly burst into joyful tears as she lovingly caressed her rotund torso. “Our family… It will be growing soon!”
“And you two are going to be the most gorgeous MILFs~” Leonie said with a lusty smirk.
Suddenly, Hubert burst into the dining hall. His face was even paler than usual and he had broken out in a cold sweat. Every tense muscle in his body made his motions slow and stiff. “What-! Have-! You-! DONE!?” The shadowy man panted heavily.
El gasped, and Petra quickly jumped between her lovers and the sinister man. “Who are you?” She demanded firmly.
“Don’t worry, she’s with me~” Bernadetta waved her hand dismissively.
“Ah, my apologies.” Petra said as she relaxed her body. Edelgard continued to hide behind her and Leonie, who had returned to smothering her in love and affection.
“Lady Edelgard! Where- What in the name of hell!?” Hubert’s pupils shrank as his gaze met the former Emperor’s new form. “LADY EDELGARD!!”
Before Hubert could rush towards the shy Adrestian princess, Bernadetta raised her hand outward. “Halt.”
“I-!! Nnng, what sort of foul magicks-!?” Hubert groaned as he futilely struggled to move his legs.
“So, time hasn’t caught up with you yet either, hm? No… It’s not just that…” Bernadetta mused as she confidently approached Hubert. “You’re actively resisting. I must say, I’m actually quite impressed! But look at you… tch tch tch… You’re going to hurt yourself if you keep maintaining that dark protection spell forever - not that you could even last a day, judging by the state of you now. Why not just let your guard down? Why not just let yourself back in sync with this new timeline? I promise you and I will have lots of fun together~”
“Urk-! R-release Lady Edelgard from your curse- Nnng… -at once!!” Hubert spat raspily.
“And why would I do that? She’s so much happier now! Just look and see for yourself.” Sharkadetta gestured to the hippo and pair of elephants. “Her burdens have been halved. Her traumas weigh far less on her soul. Her loneliness has been eliminated. Why would you wish to change that?”
“You must not meddle- urk! -in events you cannot possibly understand!”
“Those Who Slither In The Dark will not be a problem~”
Bernadetta’s smug grin sent chills down Hubert’s spine. His guard was shaken and his grasp on his protective counter-spell was slipping. “Wh-what!?”
“That’s what you call the Agarthans, correct? They’re happy and safe in their new lives; they have no desire to harm anyone up here anymore. But what am I saying, you should know, Varvara: you’re one of them~”
“Preposterous! I am Hubert von Vestra! Nnng… I am a l-loyal Adrestian- urk! -and I always have been!”
“Oh really?~” Bernie simply directed her gaze to Hubert’s leg.
When Hubert looked down too, what he saw made his heart nearly falter: his clothes had vanished completely and his right leg was melting! “I-! I-!!” Hubert stuttered in disbelief. The goop that used to be his leg was turning a pale blue colour and was writhing of its own volition. Despite this, he could still feel the melty substance as if it were a part of his body - no it really was still a part of him.
With one final surge of exertion, Hubert’s concentration ended and his shield against Bernadetta’s meddling dropped completely. He was totally vulnerable now, and the shark girl’s magic wasted no time. Every inch of Hubert’s skin began to melt and warp into unnatural shapes. His insides liquefied to match his gooey exterior while his legs dissolved into a glob of living slime.
“Eugh!! Wh-what are you!?” The man’s voice warbled as it shifted from his gravelly texture to a smooth, deep, feminine voice.
“I am your Mistress~” Bernie purred with a predatory glint in her eyes. “And you are the most obedient little darling, aren’t you?~”
As his body became various shades of blue, Hubert’s figure was moulded like putty: his flat chest formed a pair of breasts that slowly and steadily expanded; his thighs and glutes swelled into luscious, thick, feminine proportions; his hair became even more dark blue goo that styled itself into a long, wavy bob; his jaw softened as his masculine visage became a mature, feminine face; his irises disappeared as his eyes became simple yellow pupils contrasted on black sclera; and all over him appeared randomly distributed eyes that matched those on his face and a number of boundless mouths with razor sharp teeth. Finally, his cock simply fell off and dissolved into the gooey puddle that used to be his legs. The now-flat, null region on his crotch slowly grew into a cute little vulva with kissable pussy lips and an adorable clitty - though, unlike most other pussies, hidden behind his labia and inside his vaginal canal were a series of beastly teeth!
Hubert was now a shifty, gooey, jiggly shoggoth! His melty tentacles gently flailed and coiled subconsciously as he squirmed uselessly in place. “Nnng, th-this is so strange… I can see everywhere! S-so many eyes, so much to see…” He shook his head violently. “Give us our lives back, fiend!”
“Is that any way to speak to your Mistress, darling?~” The shark woman stroked a taloned finger across the surface of his sensitive, gooey ‘skin’.
Then Sharkadetta gently cupped Hubert’s soft cheek, which he simply couldn’t shirk away from. Though his mind was drowning in alarm bells ringing and futile escape plans forming, he couldn’t help but shiver at how wonderful it felt to be touched like this by… his Mistress?
“N-no, you’re not… Nnng… my M-Mistress!” Grasping his squishy head in his gooey hands, Hubert could feel outside forces tugging on the thoughts in his mind. Loyalty to Edelgard shifted towards Bernadetta, instead. “D-don’t rewrite me too! I belong to Lady Edelg-gard, and none other!”
“I wouldn’t dream of rewriting my sweet, darling maid~” Bernie leaned down and placed a soft, tender kiss on Hubert’s cheek. “You’ve always been my good girl, haven’t you?~”
“M-m-maid!? No! I refuse!!” Hubera scrambled to hold onto his sense of self by cycling through her memories: the day he first met Lady Edelgard; the day she killed his own father; the day he and she enrolled at the Officer’s Academy; and the day the Empire - Emp-province of Adrestia? - waged war on the church of Seiros. “I am Huvara var… v-von Varstra… M-maid of Lady Edelgard… SHADOW of m-milady, Mistress-gard… Nnng!!”
Varvara’s body once again began to change as her gooey form subconsciously began to match her new identity. A tight black dress with a white apron and frills materialised on her body, as did adorable white gloves and a black-and-white headband. These were not, however, normal clothes; they were an extension of herself - made of the very same eldritch goop as the rest of her. Next, a series of tentacles grew from the melty blob where her legs should have been, each holding more living goo-turned-items: a feather duster; a pot of tea and matching teacup; a soft towel; a fruit knife; and a cleaning cloth.
The inexplicable sensations of feeling through her clothes, tentacles, and created items were almost overwhelming to the poor shoggoth girl, especially being able to feel the hot tea connected to her nervous system. It horrified her to know that deep down, however, this all felt very familiar - natural, even. Like it had always been.
Again, Varvara ran her memories through her mind: the day she first met Mistress; the day she left home deep underground in Agartha to serve as Mistress’ maid; the day she and her Mistress enrolled… n-no, Mistress was the Headmistress of Garreg Mach Officer’s Academy, and had been since before they met; and the day Mistress had taken a horny, needy cow named Ingrid under her wing. Everything was falling into place, and Varvara felt that her panic attack had nearly subsided.
“That’s it… There’s no need to panic, Mistress is here~” Sharkadetta hugged her eldritch maid, and Varvara returned the gesture by wrapping her semisolid appendages all around her.
“Oh Mistress!” Varvara hummed lovingly. “S-so many confusing thoughts… so many foreign memories…”
“It’s alright, love… None of it is real, ok? You’ve always been my darling little maid… There’s no need to worry about those silly false memories, ok sweet thing?”
The shoggoth squeezed Bernie a little tighter. “I always panic when that creepy man returns in my memories… B-but you’re always here for me, Mistress! Thank you, Mistress!”
“You’re so welcome, darling~” Satisfied with her work, Bernadetta thought it was time to take a little break and spend time with her maid and her cow. However, an unexpected magical feeling sprung up within her. “Huh? What’s happening?”
Pressure built in her temples and her upper back, and she knew immediately that this was another magical transformation beginning! Though she didn’t know how or why, Sharkadetta decided to sit back and enjoy her second metamorphosis.
“Mistress? What’s happening? Are you hurt!? M-Mistress, we must get you to the infirmary!!” The shoggoth maid began to panic again until Bernie held up a hand.
“It’s alright, I’m just- Nnng… -transforming again.”
A pair of long protrusions sprouted from beneath the shark girl’s shoulders that quickly formed a layer of protective scales. Meanwhile, twin horns curled out from the sides of her head to give her a fearsome, demonic visage. The talons on her fingers got even sharper and stronger as scales matching those on her soon-to-be wings formed all along her forearms. Her feet grew into strong draconic paws and her lower legs, too, gained scales. Even her tail grew menacing-looking spikes and yet more scales. Finally, her newest appendages filled out into huge, impressive wings that incorporated both demonic and draconic aesthetics.
By now, everyone in the room was gazing upon Bernie’s altered form with stars in their eyes. The dragon-shark took a deep breath and let out a powerful roar that shook the whole dining hall.
“My goodness! Bernadetta, you are amazing!!” Petra cheered.
“You can say that again! Just look at those kickass wings!” Leonie added.
“M-Mistress!! You’re somehow even more stunningly beautiful now!!” Varvara gasped airily.
“Heh, I could get used to this~” Sharkadetta flexed her muscles and spread her wings to their full wingspan. “Ohhh, this feels so good! Now how about we go put this new form to the test, hm?~”
“Oh yes, Mistress! I’m sure Lady Ingrid will be as excited as I am!”
A thought ran through Bernadetta’s mind: ‘could this be the result of my magic corrupting me?’ But she quickly dismissed such concerns, for she had much more important things - or rather, people - to do now~
