Selena rushed into camp, covering her face and muffling her sobs. Laslow and Odin, who were stationed at the entrance on guard duty, concernedly ran after their longtime friend.
Selena’s whole body felt tingly and her clothes were definitely tighter than they were that morning. Her fingernails were growing longer and sharper, and her twintails twisted tighter and tighter of their own accord. If she hadn’t known better, she could have sworn her hair felt the breeze as if it had nerves of its own.
But there was no way she was transforming. It was impossible, she told herself; it was only a drop of Camilla’s venom that touched her, and only on the surface of her skin. It was just a coincidence she was getting a headache in the exact place the drop of venom splashed her, right in the center of her forehead. Besides, those Hoshidans had transformed in moments, and here Selena was; still totally herself.
"Hey! Selena, what's wrong!?" Laslow called from behind, but she didn't stop.
“Wait up, would’ya!” Odin added.
After another minute of running through the mostly empty camp, Selena arrived at Leo’s tent. “L-Lord Leo! You hafta help!”
“Selena? What is it?” Leo closed his book and approached concernedly.
Odin and Laslow arrived just a moment later.
“Stay back!” Selena demanded. “D-don’t look at me! Just help Lady Camilla! The dragon’s vein turned her into a… creature! A-a monster!!”
“What!?” The three men spat in unison.
“Y-you can fix this, right Lord Leo? There has to be some book you know that has the answer!” Selena whimpered, holding back tears with her arm still covering her face.
“Yes, yes I must have something here…” Leo mumbled as he began to frantically dig through his mountain of books.
“Selena, you don’t need to hide your pain from us, we know how much Lady Camilla means to you.” Laslow assured.
“Rrrrgh…” She growled indecisively, then finally revealed her face.
“By the gods!” Laslow gasped.
“What in the-!?” Odin exclaimed.
Selena’s two best friends saw a vertical scar on her forehead that glowed with dark, magical energy.
“Come off it you clowns, I’m being serious…” She pouted, averting her gaze.
“We’re not joking!” Odin boomed solemnly.
“Look!” Laslow grabbed a hand mirror from Leo’s desk and pointed it at Selena.
The ailing hero glanced at her reflection, but an unfamiliar visage was staring back at her. Beyond just the slice down her forehead, her once brown eyes were now a deep green colour and her fiery red hair had seemingly congealed into a solid mass as opposed to a cute cluster of hairs.
Wincing anxiously, Selena turned away again. “It’s j-just a flesh wound! Stop making a big deal out of my stupid face! We have to help Lady Camilla!”
As she spoke, her twintails subtly wiggled of their own accord.
“We’ll get a healer! Stay here with Prince Leo, we’ll be back!” Laslow nodded to Odin, and the pair turned to leave the tent.
“N-no!! Don’t you two abandon me as well!!” Severa cried out, tears running down her face. Without even trying, Selena’s elastic twintails each stretched out and tripped her friends. Before anyone knew what was happening, the two locks of hair(?) coiled around the legs of Odin and Laslow, holding them in place on the ground.
“Oh gods, Selena, what’s happened to you!?” Leo shrieked as he saw the commotion unfolding. “Were you affected by the dragon’s vein too!?”
“Of course not! It was just one drop!!”
“One drop!? One drop of what!?” Leo rushed to his retainer’s side and tried to pry him from the twintail’s grasp, but to no avail.
“Camilla’s venom!”
Leo froze. “...Oh no. I know what this is. Oh gods no…” He went back to his books and dug out a battered old tome.
“You can’t just say that! What do you expect, that I don’t panic after hearing something as ominous as ‘oh gods no’!?” Selena spat over her shoulder, unable to turn and look at the Nohrian prince considering her predicament.
“Nnng, wh-what is this!?” Laslow gasped, frantically pulling on the coils around his legs.
“S-Selena, focus! You can fight this, just stay calm.” Odin commanded uneasily.
“No, don’t get all serious on me! Do your usual flamboyant theatrics! Twitch your sword hand, or… whatever! Something! Anything!!” She knew it was dire when Odin dropped all pretense. It sent a shiver down her spine and throughout her tail.
Her… tail?
Selena’s eyes widened as she realised there was a stubby little tail curled up in her smallclothes. It was only then that she admitted it to herself: she was in trouble.
“ACK!! That’s cold!!” Odin yelped.
Pulling her attention back to the pair of guys ahead of her, Selena saw that her twintails were secreting some sort of gooey liquid. The pair’s clothes were being dissolved by the slime, and it was beginning to seep into their skin! What’s more, the slime was encroaching on Selena’s head and replacing what little uncorrupted hair remained.
Laslow flailed wildly, attempting to swipe the goo off his lower body, but all that did was help it spread up his arms and over his torso. Odin, meanwhile, tried casting fire on the twintails, but the liquid snuffed out his flames before they could so much as singe it. Soon enough, he too had goo crawling up his body as if it were alive. The two retainers found their arms glued to their sides as they were covered in slime from the neck down.
It was impossible to tell where the slime ended and the twintails began; or maybe there wasn’t even a distinction anymore. Her senses froze for a split second and returned with a pop; then, Selena realised she could feel through the bodies of her friends as if they shared a nervous system.
“Nnng, wh-what’s happening to us…?” Laslow moaned wearily. “I feel… so… Nnng…”
“M-me too… What’s going… on…?” Odin added.
“Guys! G-guys snap out of it!” Selena barked with a wavering voice.
“Guys? We’re not guys… are we?” One of them asked.
“I’m… we’re… you? We’re us…?” The other moaned in confusion.
“Eheheh…” Selena giggled uneasily. “This isn’t what I meant by your theatrics Odin…”
“Odin?” The blonde one rolled the name over in their mind.
“Yeah! You, dummy!!” Panic was clearly present in the redhead’s voice.
“I’m… I’m… Desire?” The blonde said with uncertainty.
“And I’m…. Discontent…” The other said slowly. “Ack!”
“Nnng!!”
Selena’s friends moaned as their bodies writhed and contorted. The crimson slime engulfed their heads as their bodies lost all human characteristics. The pair slimmed down and elongated as they fused with Selena’s gooey twintails. Where once were the heads of Odin and Laslow were now small, lumpy shapes at the tip of Selena’s two new head-mounted limbs.
“AAIIIIEEEEE!! MAKE IT STOP, MAKE IT STOP!!” Selena shrieked as she tried - and failed - to back away.
“Where is it!? Come on, damn it!” Leo muttered as he frantically flipped through the pages of a particularly archaic-looking tome. “We can still fix this!! We can- AGH-!?”
A stack of books tumbled onto the Nohrian prince when Selena backed up and bumped into his desk. She didn’t feel the impact on her ass cheeks, instead feeling it through her ever expanding tail. Her tail was really straining the fabric of her pants now, pushing out such that Selena couldn’t ignore it any longer.
“rrrrrrRRRGH!!” With great frustration, she clawed at her clothing, ripping it enough for her growing body to finish the job and tear them to shreds. Her new tail unfurled in a powerful, springy burst that splintered Leo’s wooden desk, causing a book avalanche. “OWWW!! HISSSSS!!”
Selena’s tail was tall and flat, and it was… wet? Water was being flung all over the place as the transforming woman flailed around unintentionally. Her legs wobbled before giving out underneath her, and refused to move in any helpful manner. It was almost as if her leg bones had simply vanished, making them all floppy and completely useless.
Try as he might, Leo couldn’t pry his eyes from the scene before him. He was captivated, horrified, and - to his shame - rather turned on. Selena had always caught his eye, especially considering how much time she’d spend with his sister and his retainer, but there was something about seeing her like this… It stirred feelings within him he’d desperately tried to bury for most of his life.
“Nnng… Inigo… Owain… What do I do?” Selena whispered.
“Show Camilla why she wants usss…” A voice hissed in Selena’s mind that sounded like her own, except with a hint of Odin’s voice mixed in.
“Show Camilla how much she misses usss…” Another voice added, which sounded like Selena with a dash of Laslow.
Then, Selena’s long twintails slithered before her, revealing each one ended in the head of a snake. The goo coating them solidified into brilliant crimson scales all along their lengths, finishing off their serpentine merger into Selena’s body: Where once she had hair, she now had a red, scaly helmet-like carapace with twin snakes growing out from her head.
“Wh-wh-what in Naga’s name-!?” Selena quivered.
“We’re not alone…” The snake named Desire hissed aloud, but only Selena could hear and understand its words.
“We’re never alone when we’re together…” The snake named Discontent chimed in.
“Besides, look at the one behind usss…” Desire used its snoot to point to Leo.
Selena turned her head now that she was able to; her two snakey extensions of herself moved in sync with her now. The Nohrian royalty was staring with wide eyes at the still-changing woman who had just assimilated two men into her body.
“L-lord Leo…” Selena whimpered, tears still running down her cheeks.
“Look with your third eye…” Desire gently nudged Selena on her forehead.
“See this one’s sorrow…” Discontent mused.
“See this one’s yearning…”
“See this one’s frustration…”
“See this one’s ambition…”
“See this one’s jealousy…”
“See this one’s craving…”
The pair of snakes whispered sultrily back and forth, pushing Selena to see the man in a new light. With a sudden sharp pain on her forehead, the scar on her face split open to reveal a vertical eye; a bicoloured iris swirling in equal parts blue and violet sat on a sea of pitch black instead of a normal eye’s white backdrop. Magical energy burst from her newest facial feature, and as soon as it started the pain was over. Now, Selena had a sixth sense.
It was like a normal sense of sight, but instead of the familiar colours she was used to, Selena saw shapes moving in a sea of new colours. Overwhelmed by her new sense, she closed her two original eyes so she could focus on her new ability for now, and what she saw was striking.
Selena could read Leo like a book; each new colour and pattern held a meaning that she understood from instinct, and Leo’s appearance said it all. He was so envious of the attention his adoptive sister Corrin garnered. He craved her looks, her charisma, and her ability to draw people in like moths to a flame.
He was jealous: he felt like a third wheel whenever she was so much as mentioned; he felt like everyone around him was on the cusp of realising they didn’t want him, that they didn’t need him; he felt outclassed by her in every way. Leo truly believed that it was only a matter of time before they abandoned him entirely in favour of her.
Corrin was a gorgeous woman with a gorgeous wife and a massive family who showered her in love and attention. And then there was Camilla. She doted on Corrin to an almost obsessive degree, even when it was neither wanted nor appreciated. She ignored him in favour of Corrin for almost as long as he could remember - almost. Leo and Camilla were like best friends, once. Camilla made Leo feel like one of the girls. She made him feel so loved, even when who he was inside didn’t match who he was expected to be. But then, their father brought Corrin home, and everything changed. Leo was cast aside in favour of a sister - he was just some half-brother…
Selena resonated with Leo’s feelings so deeply, it made her cry from her third eye. She slowly opened her two human eyes, and it was like she’d been opened up to a whole new world. With all six senses acting in tandem, including her two forms of sight merged in her mind, Camilla’s retainer felt more powerful than she ever had before.
“Don’t bury your feelings any longer…” Discontent encouraged Selena.
“Let it all out… You know you want this power, so use it to finally attain what you’ve ever longed for…” Desire cooed.
Her snakes evoked a sense of calm within Selena despite the day’s events.
“S-Selena!” Leo stuttered. “S-stay calm! If you stay still, those s-snakes will stop hissing at you s-so angrily!”
“We’re not angry…” Selena had intended to say ‘they’re not angry’, but she was already so deeply connected to her longtime friends-turned-snakes. No, they weren’t just connected to her, they were a part of her. “We just… We just want to be loved…”
With a soft sigh, Selena opened her palms in front of her for Desire and Discontent to rest their heads. With a snake in each hand, she ever so gently curled her fingers around the extensions of herself and lovingly massaged them. As she did so, skin grew between each of her digits, leaving her with webbed fingers tipped in sharp claws.
“N-Nnng! M-my head…” Selena winced as resistance and panic resurfaced within her. She was supposed to be getting help for Camilla! She was supposed to be getting her old life back!
Meanwhile, her legs were flattening out and reshaping themselves into fearsome fins fit for a sea serpent. They grew slightly translucent - as did her ever lengthening tail - while her toes became nothing more than cartilage separating her webbing. Finally, transparent scales as clear as crystal - yet stained red to match the scales of her snakes - materialised from her hips down.
A surge of instinct flooded her mind, from her new body’s motor controls to a deep-seated need to sate the envy of those like her - and, of course, her own envy too. A whirlpool of thoughts and emotions spun through Selena’s head, making her let go of her twintail snakes and grab her head in pain and confusion.
“Aaaaagh, what do I do!? The feelings, make it stop! Make them go away!” The serpentine woman cried. “I just want to be loved! Is that too much to ask!?”
“We love you, Ssselena…” Her living twintails hissed in unison, then gently coiled around her shoulders in opposite directions to cover her in a big, snakey hug.
“O-Owodin…? L-Laslinigo…? Nnng…” The former names of Desire and Discontent were fading from Selena’s memory as her mind reshaped itself to match her monstrous body.
The pair of snakes each nuzzled into one of her cheeks, wiping away the tears. After a moment of hugging herselves, she turned back to the man half-buried in books. He was breathing heavily, simply staring at the creature before him.
“He’s one of us inside…” Discontent mused.
“...so make him like us outside~” Desire finished its counterpart’s sentence.
Selena slowly writhed closer to Leo, slithering and pushing herself forward like a mudfish out of water. The blank expression on her face and her calm demeanor intimidated the Norhian prince, yet allured him nonetheless. As she reached out her hand in friendship and solidarity, Leo knew what she was silently asking him.
Slowly taking the beast’s webbed hand in his own, Leo watched as Desire and Discontent slithered down along Selena’s arm and onto his own. They left a trail of red goo beneath them as they touched and spread along his body. After melting away his clothes, the slime was lathered over his naked body by the gentle pair of twintail snakes.
Changes immediately began, sending a shiver down Leo’s spine. His flat chest began to grow, as did his rather small glutes. His body hair thinned and vanished, followed by a softening of his skin. Leo’s bone structure subtly reshaped itself, giving him slimmer shoulders, wider hips, and a less masculine jawline.
“N-Nnng! Oh gods, this is-!!” The prince moaned with an increasingly feminine voice; one that began to sound very familiar. “Oh my, I sound like-! B-but it can’t be! I-I’m…”
Leo’s short green hair grew paler, lengthening out into wavy locks that reached all the way down to his now-shapely butt. Desire rubbed more transformative slime into his thickening thighs as Discontent kneaded his supple, enviable breasts. His face practically melted, then settled back into a new, recognisable visage - that of Corrin!
“Oh gods, it’s happening! It’s real! I’m becoming her!” The unmistakable voice of Corrin escaped Leo’s plump, luscious lips as he stared into his hand mirror.
Finally, the pair of serpents swirled around Leo’s own trouser snake, providing a generous coating of slime. His testes were pulled inside himself as they were repurposed into ovaries, and his hard shaft shrunk down into an adorable clitty. Labia lips formed and a vaginal canal opened up inside him, completing his conversion to a perfect double of Corrin.
“Hee hee hee! Oh gods, YES! Leo doesn’t exist anymore, I’m Corrin now!” The new Corrin declared ecstatically.
“We’re not done with you yet~” Selena whispered, then her twintails both bit Corrin’s neck with their snakey fangs and injected transformative venom of their own.
“A-ahh!! Oh my, th-this feels even stranger than before…” Corrin held her head as another transformation began.
The new Corrin’s legs melted together into one big tail that just got longer and longer. Tiny lil finlets grew on each side of her tail, and her hands became webbed to match. Her inhuman body parts became translucent before transparent green scales grew in place above. Just like that, Corrin now resembled a mermaid, except her tail tapered off as opposed to having a distinctive tailfin.
“Don’t worry, precious… I’ll never abandon you.” Selena cooed as she opened her arms invitingly.
“Thank you! Thank you so much!” The new Corrin slithered over to Selena and practically lunged into her for a big hug. “P-please take me with you… Don’t leave me alone… Please?”
“Of course I’ll take you with me… We’ve got so many more people to convert, we’ll never be lonely again, I swear.”
