Greetings all and welcome back to Meddenfirth one final time! This release is all about the land just east of the independent bridge city. Discover the fringes of Eoltheria, or just run this sandy camp as a one-off map. Let's dive in!
Note that we will soon be updating Meddenfirth - Definitive Edition with new seamless maps that stretch across the entirety of the city and its adjacent banks, plus we will be updating our Foundry module and token sets! That will of course be a free update. Stay tuned!
Borough guide
As with Meddenfirth 05, this borough guide present 7 unique scenes to help you plan encounters east of Meddenfirth. Each of these scenes corresponds with one of our variant maps, so you should have no trouble playing these out with perfect visual aids. This release also provides a useful window into magic and culture of the nation to the east, a useful complement to the resources we've provided in the previous five Meddenfirth borough guides.
Maps
East of Meddenfirth, the road quickly dissipates and gives way to badlands. Eoltherian refugees set up camp as they attempt to claim asylum in the independent city astride two nations. This map should give you a sense of the massive disparity between Thenniden and Eoltheria. Where the west is verdant and pleasant, the east is harsh and barren. To accompany the various seven scenes from the borough guide, we have seven map variants that correspond with each encounter: Winter, Superbloom, Beast Footprints, Healing Convoy, Geyser Eruption, Mystic Circle, and Cave Entrance. Each of these maps seamlessly connects with either the original Meddenfirth map or our snowy variant.
Our interior map for this release has been a long time coming, and it has been one our most requested pieces of concent since we started! Meddenfirth's East Gate / Armory was a dungeon crawl we imagined in the early days of BB, but at the time, we had yet to hire an interior cartographer. Well, now you can tackle this massive five-story dungeon with gorgeous accompanying maps. From the barracks to the secret vaults, this map is a perfect recreation of the original blueprints we devised over two years ago. Please note that these maps are only availble for patrons at the Chief Courier tier, and you must download an additional zip file to access them because there are so many gosh darn files!
Music
Rugged terrain necessitates rugged music. Our track this week is "Badlands," a desert tune that evokes the dangers of the wasteland as well as its idiosyncratic culture. This is good exploration music, but it might also serve as simple background music for low-level encounters or battles. We also provide an ambient variant for lower-stakes wasteland exploration.
