Sugoi

This a really a great explanation on why it wouldn't work. I just assumed it wouldn't work.

JayseKnyte

Alright, thanks for the clarification. What mainly got me thinking about that was the bow on the cover of book 1.

Honour Rae

I think you'll like where I'm going with that.

Honour Rae

I thought hard about that in Book 1 but decided it would be a combat class. It's more about intent than function. He can probably juggle throwing knives as a performer but his mindset changes when he aims those knives at people and that's what makes the difference

JayseKnyte

But a bow was originally invented to hunt game for food. And there's the precedent of the knife work and butcher skills. A hunter class could be considered utility the same way farming and gathering are. If that's the case, then learning how to use the primary tool of a hunter class, if considered utilty, should be possible. Throwing spear and traps too. Also, pairing tracking skills and traps with his sleath class would be cool. Hell, throwing knives could fall under purformer too. With a cross over into his body card for throwing/pitching.

OreoKitten

yup, like we saw the groundwork, of Arthur using his time storage to store seasonal fruits back at the Hive, but now that he can copy card effects by simply being nearby when a card is active, he really should be taking advantage to transport more expensive things.

OreoKitten

I think that falls under the Master of Combat card that Arthurs cousin has. Because a bow is primarily a weapon. Thus he can't unless he gets the card from his cousin.

Arch Fiend

Dragons have sorta hand like claws in this world which how he can be a crafter I'm sure he just wants art to see something he made or some money tbh.

Jett Hardin

So true. Dude needs to get his hands on an alchemy card though imagine what sort of foods he could concoct with magic ingredients his cooking skills and alchemy

neco

I love these slice of life chapters. But because they are so short it almost hurts

Ruben Zs

Yeah that annoys me too. Hope that it all leads to an eventual climax where he becomes op very fast to rise to an impossible threat. Probably not, but I like to think so.

JayseKnyte

Something I'm curious about is if he can learn archery for a hunter class since that could technically be utility.

Waiiit it was just getting good with Flossie…

Michigo

Beyond "very wealthy". I mean teleport type card skills demand a lot in terms of personal power, but as a legendary dragon rider he has a good amount of it, and teleport type powers can be copied or aquired in card form (on his wish list). Oh, why "beyond very wealthy"? => Well, both trading with rare stuff and smuggling illegal stuff in particular are extraordinary lucrative. He really only needs the teleport skill, everything else is already in place. Heck, apparently even nobles have trouble transporting precious stuff from A to B => big business. xD

jganderson77

Hmmm… my theory is that the crafter/blacksmith finally noticed how quickly Brixaby was picking up the skill and is causing trouble. Either he wants to keep Brixaby or is not happy about the threat to his business. This in turn has likely caused Brixaby to overreact and…. Well, you get the gist.

jganderson77

Is it just me, or does Arthur begin a lot of potentially lucrative training opportunities only to be dragged away before he becomes OP? That seems to happen a lot. Also, he could easily become very wealthy transporting rare herbs with effects using his personal storage. Would love to see him build another rare card.

Christian Basso

Ilea approves!

Thaldor

Paid resistance training is a personal favourite of successful MC's 🤭

Undead Writer

Thanks for the chapter!

Reaper

“I’m getting paid to do this but he wants to sell what I make. It’s mine.”

Rubeno

You are right. Potentially my parents have read the variant of the fairy tale That you have mentioned but with sapient animals instead akin to Winnie the Pooh

Touch

“It will only go bad in 1 minutes”

juno

I love the obssesed sage types, Flossie is now dear to my heart and I expect Arthur to go see her for more herbs.

juno

Rubeno I believe that's similar to The boy who cried wolf? Same morale but different characters

Ruben Zs

You too name twin :)

Rubeno

BTW you have good taste in nicknames. I approve ;)

Rubeno

Woah. It reminds me of fairy tale I heard as a kid but don't remember the name. If was basically about fox who deceitfully yelled for help for minor problem in a way as if he was dying. He did it several times until his friends decided to ignore him... And he paid for his arrogance with his life when hunters came to the forest for meat. Moral, don't take your friends kindness on the face value.

alex bozdog

I also highly suspect it's no real emergency but it makes for a hell of a cliffhanger

Ruben Zs

Pretty sure he needs his help with money.. Or wants to show him what he crafted

PoeticSaint

Seriously terrifying that prospect is.... If I know brix, you're more than likely right. Unless there's another assassin, but I doubt they'd be able to even get to brix let alone hurt him before he ripped their cards out. Plot twists are fun though!

Probably him needing to be there to buy some supplies or use his human hands to help with something. If Brixby is hurt some head I expect Arthur to do what his dragon would do for him. I imagine the threat of a human being able to rip cards from your chest just as if not more scary than a magical dragon.
