I agree with you, I don't get the hate or wanting him to fail. The only opinion I have is I probably will trust him more than shareholders to fund a decent game. And if it fails... So what? It doesn't mean he fails as a person. There's an element that people almost want him to fail so they can say he's a failure. The snobbery of a reviewer not understand game design or production doesn't even factor into it for me- like why would I care? I don't understand why so much text and hate is being expended on him. If he ends up producing good games, people will buy them. If he doesn't, they won't. I don't understand why YouTube commenters are suddenly PhD students in game theory.
