The Hex - Simply Hexcellent (Jimpressions)
🕑 Added 2018-12-12 16:18:01 +0000 UTC Following Pony Island must be an intimidating prospect, but Daniel Mullins Games has managed to craft an amazing game in The Hex, a game I very nearly missed!Combining multiple genres and examining the relationship between game and audience, The Hex is a poignant, witty, cleverly written adventure spanning six protagonists and six very different - but smartly cohesive - stories.

I don't know why artists even bother worrying about being called pretentious, especially in the video game sphere. A huge portion of the consumer market will call you pretentious or spam "im 14 and this is deep" at you for even attempting to have messages or themes in your game, and another large segment will hide their distaste for moral judgment behind accusations of your themes not matching game mechanics or ludo-narrative dissonance (see: Bioshock Infinite).

Thanks for the tip! It's easy to miss a good smaller game - with around 40 new ones daily on Steam alone.

I saw it on Steam but didn't think much of it, however I am extremely grateful that you did do a review on it so when the Holiday Steam Sale goes on I'll be sure to buy it! Thank you Mr. Sterling~!
