I'm surprised I made it this far without ever drawing angst of them but now is the time... I love obsessive artist trope and i think its somewhat apply to Simon. This short snippet is about his competitive drive to be the best at his job to the point of self-destruction and then come to the dreading realization that he might never be able to disarm bombs again.
Part of it is like a wake up call to the fact that he absolutely hate everything about his life outside of work and all he got is this job that he's no longer able to do.
I also think despise being the one that hesitate to disarm an explosive device, Radio Bob would absolutely run into a bomb site without a second thought if they know their loved one is in danger. Midland would remains the one following protocols in this situation, making sure both of them make it out WITH actual external help...
I wish I can make something more substantial with these ideas but for now its just short comic pitch. :)

also - love the angst from this, it kind of puts their job into a more realistic perspective kinda? like they can't always diffuse the bomb safely, just hope they're able to

since you like the obsessive artist trope the penumbra podcast has a singular episode with this theme, i thinks it's called "hand" or something like that. it's one if the first couple of episodes and it's a standalone episode

They're characters from a podcast called time:bombs but I treat them like they're my ocs essentially because the pod ended ages ago, there's no new content but i cant let the characters go 😔I love seeing bomb squad ocs, I'll see about adding them to sticker mail in the future! :")
