1st anniversary
🕑 Added 2021-08-06 12:59:07 +0000 UTCToday is the first anniversary of the game's first release! Yay! We survived a whole year! So because of that, I thought I would make a little post about the game and its development and how it affected me.
Back when I started this whole project I really wasn't sure what it will become later on. It definitely did grow to something much, MUCH bigger than I ever anticipated it to. I'm really happy with how the project evolved over time and I am grateful for any support I have received from you guys. I'm pretty sure I couldn't have come this long if I hadn't met a lot of you who each helped in their own way in this project. For all of you guys, who helped me in any way, shape, or form, thank you.
I have tried game-making before, but for me, this is my first serious project. It was especially challenging in the beginning, because I was a beginner with both Unity and with pixel art. This of course shows, but I like to think that over time I became much better with both. I tried to remake some of the earlier areas as well now, that I'm capable of doing much more with Unity. I also learnt a lot about Unity and am much more confident with it now than I was before. I was always a little afraid of Unity, to be honest, but I somehow managed to fix bugs that appeared over the lifetime of the development. Using Unity also let me develop the game to multiple platforms, which were a challenge by itself and it still is, since there are just so many types of Android devices, it's hard to consistently make something work on them.
I thought just for lols I would attach the very first public demo of the game that I have made. This was the version I first released on my Twitter and what people first saw. It is pretty barebones and only has the first 3 enemies and the area before the dungeons, but it was enough as a concept demo. This has mixed reception, a lot of bugs (items not working properly for example) and generally not clear puzzle design. I think 1.2.0 fixed all of the problems in the first area though. In the end, I slowly started improving on the game as I have received feedback.

With that said, I'm soon be done with the main route of the game. This is the main priority for now. After this is done, I'm planning to introduce at least one more in the future, that would include more enemies, secrets, and an alternate, true ending. This true ending would be canon for my next project if I ever get that far.
This month I'll go and take a little vacation with my friends and have a nice little rest. I hope you guys will have a nice summer as well, it's soon over.

Loved the game, and how it has evolved with time. You've made an incredible job Kredyn. With hard work you have created a cool platform game with it's unique features, and all this coming from a small proyect done alone. Congrats on the anniversary, have nice holidays <3

First off I would love to comment u on the wonderful work u hav done. Few people honestly knows the pressures of a stand alone project, it gets very tedious & frustrating at times fixing problems in the Pursue of pleasing people. I hope u find that peaceful place on your vacation that will repairs what was lost building this project, that Ultimately brings you back! “Drain Mansion” 10 of 10 in my book! Best wishes. —KingJay
