🕑 Added 2024-12-03 01:50:21 +0000 UTCFor The Enchantress video, I wanted to take the spotlight away from Van Helsing for a bit and place it on a character that appeared in one of the earliest Van Helsing videos, The Archaeologist.
The goal for this video was to make a true horror story. Most of the videos set in this period tend to be very silly, so I wanted to shake it up and take all of that away, including Van Helsing himself. Instead the POV is an assistant The Archaeologist brought along to explore an ancient cave with unknown secrets.
When The Archaeologist turns into The Enchantress, I wanted the atmosphere to be unsettling so I made some major changes to the voice audio. In order to get that really deep, creepy effect when The Enchantress starts talking, I channeled the voice of the Other Mother from "Us", and then distorted it even further in the edit. I was really happy with how it came out!
This was a really experimental video, and I'm glad the reception was positive! I think my biggest takeaway was that every now and then I'd like to do side stories like this in the Helsing verse and other series of mine. I think even The Vampire Saga would benefit from there being a POV other than the Conduit every now and then...
So, I really love Hocus Pocus! Always have, always will! Half of the sequel was good, and surprise, surprise it was the half with the Sanderson sisters! I've had a Sarah Sanderson video planned for a while, but I wanted to wait until Halloween to make sure as many eyes as possible watched it. And I really liked how it came out!
Sarah's a wonderful character to play and she's naturally really funny, which makes my job waaay easier when playing her! Funny enough, the background picture I used was from a recreation of the Sanderson house someone made for an Airbnb lol. I'm glad they did that, because it made for excellent ambiance!
Anyway, a new video's going out to early access for ya'll today, so look forward to that! I've been making a number of changes when it comes to my production set, but I think it's all coming together!
Look forward to some cool ideas going out in December! There's going to be a ton of variety along with some holiday videos!

Loved the shift in tone for tje enchantress video. It nailed the horror (in a good way). I love the fact that you used inspiration from 'us' as it's one of my favourite horror films.

The Enchantress video was creepy. I actually stopped the video once the transformation happened because it caught me off guard. (I watch your content while I am at work.) It was a great video, even if it made me switch to decaf for the rest of the day. π€π

Not going to lie, the Enchantress video is probably the first ASMR video that freaked me out (in a good way lol). The voice change caught me off guard as I was only focused on audio. You did a great job at the audio editing. Keep up the great work.

It depends! I've kicked around a couple of ideas, but I don't have anything in the works with her at the moment. She's a character I could easily see popping up again. Maybe even in The Vampire Saga!

I wouldn't have picked up on the Us influence in that horror video- really cool to know. Is this the last we've seen of the Goddess of Rot? As you know, I'm always up for true horror
