Alternate Thumbnails For Rave Witch/Goth Girl
🕑 Added 2024-10-15 05:00:06 +0000 UTCAlthough Rave Witch is 4th or 5th of the Witches I've shown off, she was one of the first ideas I had when creating the Lovely Little Witch series. I ended up putting her video off for a while because I had to think through how I was going to convey a Rave in an ASMR video. Considering these are meant to relax and/or help you go to sleep, I'm sure you can see the issue here. Eventually I chose to have rave music pulsing veeery softly in the background, and set the location on a street adjacent to the rave itself. That way it would make sense to hear faint rave music and the setting would still feel intimate and cozy!
And after having made several Lovely Witch videos, I started to wonder "what if a Lovely Little Witch no longer wanted to be one? What happens then?" Rave Witch is an outlier from the others in that she doesn't seem quite satisfied with the status quo. While most of the Witches are happy to be working in their shops in whatever pocket dimension they've chosen to reside in, Rave Witch instead quit and now deals blackmarket magical items to any client who has the cash.
Despite that, I wouldn't consider her a "bad" witch or anything like that. She makes clear her intentions are good in that while the Lovely Witches tend to help humanity, she feels creatures like vampires and werewolves also deserve their help. As for why she left the coven, I might address that in the future! She's an interesting character in that, similiar to Goth Girl, she feels like she'd walk the line of The Vampire Saga series and The Lovely Little Witches fairly well due to her dark aesthetic and more grounded personality. And even if she chose to leave The Witches, would the Witches choose to leave her? That's a question for another day!
Fun fact about this Goth Girl video: while I set the theme around her and The Conduit being sick and staying in, I was also sick when I filmed it lol. The video ya'll saw was actually the second one I filmed! In the first version, I had a crazy migraine combined with a cold and while the idea of filming a sick themed video while actually being sick has some potential, the execution was awful. Very rarely does a filming go so wrong that I scrap it, but this was definitely one of those times! The second version was muuuch better, even if I was still under the weather!
This was also a direct sequel to the Rave Witch video as The Conduit gives Goth Girl the Cursed finger she wasn't able to sell in the prior video. I thought it was a cool easter egg for those who watched the last one!
We're roughly halfway through October at this point and I've put out a pretty good amount of Spooky themed videos so far! I have more than enough concepts to last until the end of the month and I'm already starting to think about what November will look like! How exciting! Expect more spooky videos and returning reoccurring characters soon!

I liked how both Rave Witch and Magical Beasts Witch made the series more grounded and humanised the witches. And few things in life are harder than trying to keep working with a migraine
