Alternate Thumbnails For Nurse Deadpool/Nurse Wolverine
🕑 Added 2024-07-23 05:00:08 +0000 UTCWhen it comes to characters I choose for Nurse videos, I'll see a lot of comments on what heroes people would like to see make an appearance. Deadpool and Wolverine (especially Wolverine) came up a lot! But I didn't want it to have the same format as my previous videos, so I came up with a storyline that lasted 2 videos and would be self-contained from other Nurse vids. In the first one, The Nurse warns Deadpool that the Time Variance Authority is about to come pick him up and the universe they live in is about to blip out of existence. Despite being known as a quirky, silly little guy, Deapool is an extremely tragic character who persists and endures with comedy. And throughout the video, while the Nurse is trying to hold it together, Deadpool continues to make jokes to try to cheer her up, because that's what he does. Themes of loss, death, and the bravery to endure under hard circumstance are big here. But so are themes of life, creation, and starting over. "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." This is a Mr. Rogers quote I love, and though Nurse didn't say it, she thinks of Deadpool as a helper too. And her last request from him is to find her in the new universe he ends up in.
This leads into the Wolverine video, which takes place both in a new universe and a new timeline. The Nurse we meet here is not the same one from the all the other Nurse videos. I had originally toyed with giving her a different accent and different quirks, but I decided against it because it started to feel too different from who the character is. Here, she's staying with Wolverine in a Japanese inspired house. This was inspired by Wolverine's time in Japan in the comics and in the second Wolverine movie. The wolverine here is feeling a little more down than usual, so I had Nurse discuss his feelings with him and do simple acts like cutting his beard and hair since he had let it go. A lot of heroes deal with depression at various times in their career, and what I've learned with the Nurse character is that she's a lot more than just a caretaker for heroes. She's a friend, and taking care of Heroes involves their mental health as well as physical. ASMR is an interesting genre in that it attracts a wide range of viewers for different reasons, and using the Nurse series to tell someone that it's ok to not be ok I think is a powerful thing. A large part of the Heroes journey is suffering, and it's through suffering that Heroes are born. But it's important to know that you don't have to suffer alone.
The video wraps up with Wolverine giving the Nurse a letter from Deapool saying that he found her. Of course, this version of Nurse has never met Deadpool, but I like to think they'll continue to be really good friends!

Many thanks for this resume, it made it all much clearer. Or actually much less clear for these stories are crazy. Interesting to observe how our modern and scientific society has recycled some ancient ideas, like maybe Deadpool being an incarnation of Prometheus, whose liver was devoured every day and regrew anew during the night. Does Deadpool's suffering bear any meaning though, or is it as absurd as it gets and only joking about it may make this rather grim situation supportable. I hope watching either a super hero movie or an asmr video on yt would help those who seeks respite. Prometheus gave us fire, Deadpool jokes - maybe after thousands of years we have realised that positive attitude will get us further than any materialistic possessions.

I thought about this, so I'll give the cliff notes version of who these characters are and how the videos pertain to them. If you haven't seen the movies or know their history, both of these are incredibly tragic characters. Deadpool, even in the comics, is ostracized due to his appearance under his mask. But his looks are due to an incredibly ferocious form of cancer that's eating at him, yet he can't die because he also has incredible regenerative powers that essentially make him immortal, so he's stuck in this limbo where he's always in incredible pain but all he can do is joke about it. I should mention that the one person who truly understands him, his wife, dies in the second movie. As for Wolverine, the Wolverine who we meet in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie is most likely the sole survivor of the X-men because all the rest died in a terrible accident. The first Deadpool video deals with the end of the universe and that version of the timeline due to marvel most likely pulling from an arc in the comics where a similar situation occurred where an entire, long-running universe in the comics was blipped out of existence, and few remaining survivors came to the "main" timeline. There's no denying that it's super crazy to say all this out loud, but I like to think that's why comics have continued to exist and evolve. Even when one thing ends, another begins, whether it be in comics or in life. The feelings of the past might not go away, but the ability and fortitude to endure and go on is a large part of why people love these characters.

Since I have literally no idea about super heroes and the best I could do is to tell the difference between Spiderman and Batman, I might have missed some of their important traits. Despite some positive interactions between a hero and the nurse, both of the videos gave me a rather bitter feeling of loneliness, always lurking just below of what is being told. Sure one can crack a joke or be genuinely interested in helping you, but at the end of the day one is, yet again, confronted with the absurdity of all of this. And what can we do but embrace it? Or, as Camus put it, one must imagine Sisyphus happy. Btw I really enjoy the intellectual ferment provoked by the main post & the comments above.

Thanks! The Nurse vids are a direct reflection on the struggles and adversity we face in everyday life, and when viewers see larger than life heroes confronting and conquering their own inner demons, even simple one's like tying a tie or getting out of bed, I want them to come away thinking "I can do that too!"
