Welcome to the Sunken Temple of Uvelle!
This temple map, and corresponding write up, continues right where the Ruins of Ghol map left off, delving into the depths of the swamp and the ruins of the sunken temple that lay beneath it.
Intro Story
The priestess knelt before the large summoning circle. Its exterior had been painstakingly etched over many years, and its glossy purple hue shimmered in the nearby candlelight.
Mullisan patiently waited for the last of her fellow priests to depart the summoning chamber. This was -her- moment, and she didn’t feel like sharing.
As the last priest disappeared from sight, she turned her eyes toward the circle and rolled up her voluminous sleeves. Reaching out a hand, she touched a single fingertip to the edge of the circle.
It was cold.
Closing her eyes, she began to chant the magical words of power that would open the portal. The portal to her mistress, Uvelle, who had deigned communicate with her these last several nights.
Her. Directly. She shivered at the thought.
The circle began to shimmer and warm to a deeper shade of purple, as if waking from sleep. Suddenly, the stone interior of the circle fell away to reveal an inky pool of darkness populated by spinning motes of light.
Mullisan swallowed, perspiration dotting her forehead as she continued the chant, smiling as she felt the circle begin to rotate clockwise. Slowly, at first, then faster and faster until she could no longer track its movement.
In the darkness, something stirred.
Tears came unbidden to the priestess’s cheeks as she saw the shape in the void take form. She finished the incantation, as instructed in their last meeting, finishing with a joyous smile that instantly faded as the form coalesced in a serpentine monstrosity, five undulating heads watching her intently.
Her voice caught in her throat. This was not Uvelle.
--
The Sunken Temple of Uvelle provides a dungeon environment where players must contend with undead priests, servants and warriors, while being hunted by a the ghostly spirit hydra, Khal-kuu.
Players must attempt to discover the secret to disrupting Khal-kuu's return to this world, lest they unleash a truly terrible evil. After tricking the temple's High Priestess into freeing it from its planar prison, Uvelle managed to sink her own temple as a means of temporarily trapping the spirit.
It is only a matter of time, however, before the corrupted head priestess manages to find a suitable physical host for Khal-kuu's spirit and allows it to escape this watery prison.
I hope you can have a lot of fun with the two maps, and that you enjoy the length write up I came up with for the location!

Yes. the flooded room at the bottom has a physical entrance. I'd also intended for there to be a way to teleport from the top of the Ziggurat to the circular white shrine in that room, as well. And there's a secret entrance from the Ziggurat down to the large northern room, but it's collapsed.

Great map. What do you see as the way in? At first inspection I assume the flooded room at the bottom?
