Valderan

Yep. Yeeeepppp. Might want to forget you have that skill and swear Tabitha to a very rational bit of silence. Like, Brooklyn Silence, not regular silence.

Gon of the Dra

Yesssss, love it thanks

Aceter

her tier 6 crafting skill might be Forge Soul. By making an object that can gain levels.

Derek Walker

That’s probably the normal skill for level 100 in blacksmithing. Tier 5 skills are rare so if multiple masters are doing this it’s likely not tier 5, and rather like sword master, tabithas tier 4 skill

Penguin Glutton

Or only a stone-kin thing?

Penguin Glutton

Like a special skill

meticoeus

Pretty sure Del mentioned masters in Truset molding metal with their bare hands which would require skills and not just raw stats as most metals would fracture or break if you tried that with brute force on cold metal.

Penguin Glutton

What type of Blacksmithing skill yall think is tier 5?

Jon Oliphant

Well have to remember Pacore isn't built to fight a person but an army.

Penguin Glutton

True tho can you imagine all the gods decided to spy on her like the other 2?

Derek Walker

I think that's still a ways away. Her highest smithing skill is just tier 4. Nothing comparable to the soul skills and memories from a second life that drew the two Goddesses' attention.

Penguin Glutton

I wanna see Tarrow the God of earth and craftsmanship see Aaliyah

Matthew Dennis

It was so worth paying to read ahead but now that I’m caught up I’m so sad.

MikeL

Tabitha would lose here genius status. I’m sure Packor would not care but I’m sure she sees it as a loss of face for him.

Penguin Glutton

For me I think his experience and skills help him a lot

Not my Real Name

Pacore is a strange case, he pretends he put all his points into defense but that is obviously not the case or he wouldn’t be able to win a fight fast. He often deceives people so most people will probably underestimate him or approach him with a bad strategy.

Penguin Glutton

Hey yall hope ya have a great day today do yall think the 5 guardians of Scholl are stronger than Pacore?

Sondadir

Transfer experience is a low level skill, so it souls have loss during transfer. So even though Aaliyah transfers large amounts of experience, only a portion is effectively transferred.

Matthew Dennis

It would be cool, but that’s also no small task.

Ironwolf

Remember, Tabitha has probably very rarely experienced the amount of EXP gain that Aaliyah has. Aaliyah’s skills were what saved her. It’s likely that the difference between the amount of EXP Tabitha gained and the amount of EXP Aaliyah gained was not likely proportional to the difference in accumulated EXP between the two. We have yet to see an EXP table, but Aaliyah’s %gain in cumulative experience is probably higher than Tabitha’s

Derek Walker

Good point on Magic-Smithing may also level, but I feel this would be a case like her level 75 running test. She passed it by using a mana skill and learning Air Walk.

SFS

I'd imagine that Soul Devour probably has a cap at 20 which is partially why she is having difficulty consuming the experience. Additionally I think the Magic Smithing skill would be more important towards fixing Tabitha's arm than blacksmithing, as it's the skill that helps her see and manipulate the interior mana flow of objects.

Derek Walker

One request if possible, can we get a Tabitha POV where she examines her own status in light of what just happened. Would be fun to see the status of a high level person like Tabitha.

Penguin Glutton

She will definitely feeling she cheated

Derek Walker

I don't know why you need soul skills to handle exp, at least in some circumstances. General Pitz killed like 5000 soldiers with her skills, and probably got several million exp at once. She didn't need a soul skill because her soul was massive and could handle the influx. Same thing for Tabitha

Michael Maor

She might not value the accomplishment, she'd definitely value the resources she'd got from the government for being top-tier.

Penguin Glutton

I believe 40

DANTE

Tabita wont lose her status as protege if she didnt hit lvl100 before age x, cant remember the number, she would just fall behind the curve of what is considered a top tier advancement and the prestige coming from it, and, getting to this point with Aaliyha bossing experience gain is technically cheating, I dont think Tabita would value the accomplishment anymore even if she will still take the levels

Augustus

I dont think she had soul skills before this but she will definitely have them at the end.

Michael Maor

Since Tabitha mentioned her issue with failing to reach level 100 in time to maintain her protege status I was expecting Aaliyah to end up giving Tabitha the experiance she needs with her soul skills, but I wasn't expecting something like this. Great chapter.

Pagemaster

I agree. There should be no way for Tabitha to handle the Majority of the xp with no soul skills. I feel like our protagonist is going to get skammed again on level progression but as long as she gets into at least the 90s I will be happy. I would prefer 100s obviously. Been stuck in the 70s for way to long.

Derek Walker

The Goddess already told her anyone else without her soul skills would've seen their soul shatter. So in effect, she has such a resistance skill. Tabitha does not, but relative to Aaliyah her bigger soul functions the same way in circumstances like this. If you dump 10 million exp into Aaliyah, thats basically doubling the Exp in her soul. If you dump the same amount into Tabitha, thats about a 16% increase, so much less of a strain

Penguin Glutton

Also maybe pain resistance?

Penguin Glutton

For me o think Poison resistance would be higher

Jackson Ragland

If that's the case then wouldn't Aaliyah have gotten something like hardened soul or experience resistance when she killed the first soul devourer? It seems like in that case mental resistance helped her deal with the influx of experience

Derek Walker

So the resistance skill is about pain management/ability to function. Tabithas soul has a lot more experience so it can take a lot more before collapsing which separate from like being conscious through this or anything

Jackson Ragland

The one thing I don't get with this chapter is how Tabitha takes the majority of the experience. I understand there's a large level gap but I feel like a level 62+ tier 4 resistance skill should absolutely close the gap and then some versus someone with no resistance skill. Otherwise I like it!

Derek Walker

One thing I wonder is if the experience being tainted makes it painful to absorb. If not, then Tabitha experiencing pain from absorbing the exp, it must be truly massive amounts. Like 10s of millions of points, since just even 10 million points is 3 levels for her, which shouldn't strain her soul that much.

Timo Immig

More likely soul-smith. Still going to massively bother Ilia.

Derek Walker

It's impossible to really calculate levels but I am hoping to see her reach at least 90. Between the exp absorbed and the massive exp gained from skills, it should be plausible. Other predictions: Soul Devourer: 31 Sense Soul: 44 Manipulate Soul: 31 Experience Transfer: 5 Tier 5 Mana Healing Skill: 5 Blacksmithing Level 76 (she used her blacksmithing skills to help heal Tabitha so I think that will be a breakthrough) Magic Threads: 32 Manipulate Mana: 67 Mental Resistance: 70 Poison Resistance: 15 Inject Mana: 61 Final Level Aaliyah: 95 Tabitha: 110

Alex Galaitsis

Her third tier 6: “God botherer” 😂

Derek Walker

Have to agree with Jon. I can give “reasonable” estimates where both are level 100/120/150. Also to note, she says she gave most of the pressure to Tabitha, but that doesn’t take into account everything she had already absorbed until that point, which was probably worth 5-10 levels worth alone.

Undead Writer

Thanks for the chapter

Derek Walker

So next 5 chapters are just status screen updates? I am very much here for it. Level 120 each lmao.

Tjark

Nah. It would be far more satisfying to spread around that Ebeon is actually the nice one and make people curse Ilia for the mortal's struggles in life.

lenkite

Actually both Goddesses were Ok. Ilia's bite is far worse than her bark - in the end she DID help the MC while threatening her. If the Goddess did not want to help her, she would have died. Frankly, MC wouldn't have survived without divine intervention and advice. She should build a shrine to them and keep them somewhat appeased. Its like giving taxes to the [Soul Government].

Penguin Glutton

Love this Chap! Also damn they must've gain a few levels

Penguin Glutton

I still think they are gonna tell Pacore imo

lenkite

"How barbaric, you steal our power, and now you break even more taboos," Dear Goddess, how can a Mortal know what is Taboo unless they are educated about it ? Kindly provide the [Divine Lawbook].

SFS

I assume the transfer skill and devour skill are supposed to be opposites in a similar way to how inject mana and extract mana are opposites. Each controls the flow in different directions

SFS

Some people have theorized before about using her soul skills to make sentient weapons. I'm wondering if this transfer ability would allow her to essentially construct artificial minds inside items using experience, similar to how spirits and soul horrors are formed.

DANTE

Im not the biggest fan of this development either but I dont think giving SD an exp transfer breakthrough would have been any different narratively wise and it would also really clash with the skill purpose. Still not doing anything was likely to power level Aaliya too much as well. its not my favorite development but Im curious what's next

DANTE

Mmmm, I immagine Experience Transfer is going to play a big role in getting high tier crafting skills in the future but I wish Aaliyha obtained it in another way, I guess not sharing the experience would have power leveled Aaliyha too much

Endymion2314

I'm guessing still a God of Magic and Souls. There are probably conditions for using Exp Xfr. Soul manipulation to open the line and controlled, but not yet absorbed Exp floating around. So it's only good if set up prior to combat and directly afterward; otherwise the Exp is assimilated into a Soul or tithed off to Ebeon.

Endymion2314

Life's a Btch and then you die. Yeah those two fit their archetypes. I'm guessing their usual actual Tier 6 skills are Time Dilation/Stop. While Death's Tier 6 is probably Teleportation and Gate.

Alphafenrir401

Also I wonder who this God is that the skill truly belong to

Alphafenrir401

Wait can that transfer skill be done in reverse to take exp from a person to her?

Jon Oliphant

To a large extent you are answering your own questions. "And third of all the conditions were ridiculous. First she could only dump exp like that because of the encounter with soul horrors. and then doing this required her to grasp her friend's soul and resist her skill telling her to shred it. I would feel totally scammed to not have a tier 6 skill out of this much crap." It's a very narrow skill with very strict requirements. The social downsides are also real but can't be considered, they have nothing to do with the skill. Hell as it is you are going to see her targeted by people who want to know how a 15 yr old got to be level 100+

phantom

It is not at all unreasonable for her to get another tier 6 skill from this. First of all even viewing a soul is a tier 5 skill. Second of all she had to use her tier 6 skill to even meet this condition. And third of all the conditions were ridiculous. First she could only dump exp like that because of the encounter with soul horrors. and then doing this required her to grasp her friend's soul and resist her skill telling her to shred it. I would feel totally scammed to not have a tier 6 skill out of this much crap. And for another facet of soul devourer I disagree. It has a clear purpose and that purpose is an extremely powerful one. Finally why are you so bothered by this? how is this tier 6 skill going to neatly solve.. anything. for her? This skill outright put a massive target on her back. and it will be extremely obvious if she just uses it to buff up those close to her.

phantom

I honestly agree it is quite ridiculous. and threatening to kill her? The alternative was both she and Tabitha had their souls doomed. that threat is just petty. And it really is the only alternative. the protagonist could not even commit suicide without having used the goddess' power. As for using his skills. She was outright encouraging Aliyah to do it before. if anything I am wondering if she is a sore loser that Aliyah was willing to endanger her life over using the skill.

phantom

Just being able to even see souls is a tier 5 skill. There is no way this is not tier 6. and it may not be a thing in the minds of many. it is a thing in the mind of Tabitha.

Kyfe

Boo no absorbing literal divinity... oh well, it makes sense that she was prohibited from doing so (narratively and balance-wise).

Kyfe

I'm not justifying it, and I don't like her either, but I think some of the animosity comes from Aaliyah accessing Skills from an obviously hated entity (add on tinkering with a portion of her power itself, lol).

Kyfe

I respect your opinion, but I wholeheartedly disagree with it. It seems perfectly reasonable and logical for this to be a separate Skill. If other Skills can be broken down into different versions based on function (i.e. the many variations on Contract that we know exist, among others), then why is it unbelievable the same isn't true for these Skills. It was also literally foreshadowed last chapter when the goddesses mentioned Skills, plural, from the originator of her Soul Devour Skill.

Jon Oliphant

Doesn't matter. Someone who can eat XP and inject it into others is beyond ridiculous. Imagine Auschwitz but instead of gas chambers you have Aaliyah draining people to death, then injecting the XP into the fatherland's soldiers. Could be tier 1 it's still a game changer.

Nanooki12

I hope Ilia dies and is forgotten by the world.

Jon Oliphant

Well on the one hand I am really happy to see a new chapter, it's always fun. This chapter does resolve out the Benny Hill chase that had been going on for awhile and it provides a nice place to pick up both plot and character development. Aaliyah's relationship with Tabitha should get much more interesting. On the other hand this was what I was worried about. Aaliyah basically has that shonen moment where everything comes together for her because she is in the middle of a crisis. Not so bad in itself but then she picks up another tier 6 skill just because? This couldn't have just been part of soul devourer? It really doesn't seem to be a stand alone skill. Thinking about it, it makes far more sense to just to fold this into Soul Manipulation. Especially since this was done using the skill. Interestingly all of "HIS" skills seem to be soul related. Is he this worlds version of the Adversary, or overthrown creator god?

Sondadir

Aaliyah Can just say that her souls skill are Tier 5. Tier 6 isn't even a thing in the minds of many.

Quendolayne

This Ilia is a psychopathic/sociopathic b.tch … what got her panties in a twist? What she says make no sense, only that she don’t like our MC and whatever she do is wrong … the only right answer to someone like this is: STFU - Thx for the chapter

Jon Oliphant

After this chapter, I have no idea how anything can be properly constrained to make those kind of estimates.

Endymion2314

Whelp Contract is going to get a workout. Cause the only way she's going to keep from getting used is to swear Tabitha to silence or at least silence until she can stand on her own.

Err

A god desperate for respect seems kind of pathetic. Aaliyah should tell/empower Pacore/Tabitha to regularly check and restrain/kill her, managing soul devourer addiction in isolation is less sustainable.

Tjark

Hm, so last time she gained 5.7 million xp from the soul devourer but it still hurt her like hell and needed healing from Ilia. It did give her about 8 levels though and given what's said about Tabitha she should be able to handle much more at 75. So I imagine she got something like 10 million xp while Tabitha likely got 20 million or something? So that's about 9 levels I think for Aaliyah and maybe something similar for Tabitha which would make them 84 and 108 respectively. That's my guess at least. Will be interesting to see how they will explain that to Pacore, Pitz and others in Scholl that know Tabitha. I hope Aaliyah will be able to get Tabitha to keep quiet about her T6s though even to Pacore.

Blake Richardson

Thanks for the chapter

Bad Timing

I am starting to think she will get a pissed off "Priest of Ilia" after her head at some point. A frank discussion with Tabitha will indeed be necessary at this point.

MikeL

Yeah, Tabitha reaches 100? 110? Can’t wait to find out.

Disclancer

Tyftc! Can't wait to see her status update
