Milandaanza

Probably is but parents often force themselves to do things they’re not interested in to try and connect with their children. It felt realistic to me and a good sign the mother realized she needed to get on her daughters level and connect with her better.

Milandaanza

I really feel like this was needed because it shows she’s flawed and she screws up but she’s trying and that matters.

Guessed

Everything up until the shift to the running scene is wrenchingly overbearing and I like her even less than I did last chapter - the running feels forced.

Dave_S

Great chapter! Like the different point of view!

Jack Stiles

You do have to keep in mind physiology changes. Then being raised from a baby also puts you in a different mind set. Just having the memories of being 20, being and being treated like a child would change how you behaved. You could also look at it as never fully maturing the first time, not maturing mentally the second time yet again. It'll come, but you'll always be your parents child.

Emby

My only concern is that the MC has the mental age of a 40 something male and you have the MC thinking like a naive teenager at times. Those novels are cool, yet if having reincarnation with memory transfer as a plot base it makes no sense to then throw it away.

Kosnik4

Thank you for your criticism, I needed to hear that. I plan to mostly focus on Aaliyah's point of view but I know I need to have other peoples perspectives at some point. I'll try to beater differentiate characters when I write in the future.

Wredniak2003

I personally do not like different POV chapters as they are really hard to execute properly. Especially if you are using first person narrative instead of third person narrator. For me the voice of mother is not distinctive enough. Each character is different and this should be reflected by the style you write in. Would any sentence from this chapter if taken out of it and put into MC POV feel out of place? I don’t think so. Mc is young, rash and easily excited and I think it is portrayed decently. Her mother is experienced and older woman. They should not be using the same expressions and they shouldn’t be noticing and not noticing the same things. Maybe her mother would notice more details about everyone’s attire; maybe she notices that her friend’s sons cloths are thorn and comments to her self how it needs fixing. Maybe she notices embroidery on her friend’s cloths. Maybe she focuses on the small decorations in headman’s home. She may mention that despite years being away from her family she stills instinctively appraised the value of such trinkets despite seeing them on numerous occasions. If you check on YouTube channel “hello future me” he did a good video covering the difficulties of this stole of writing and I think you would benefit from watching it. I hope you see me post as constructive criticism as I really like your story. I just couldn’t enjoy this chapter as I kept noticing how identical the internal voice of those two characters is.

Jonathan Timm

Hey can I say I enjoyed the chapter but it felt a smidge forced but that's because we all complained my bad. Maybe give her a mumma bear skill that activates when she is scared for her children slight fear affect and increase in strength and constitution. Just an idea no pressure enjoy ur writing

Scott

One thing that I think a lot of us forget is having crazy hormones as a teen. The MC was a teenage male, died, and is now a teenage female. That's trying to learn to live through being a teenager twice, with two wildly different set of hormones. I think that would really mess with my head.

MadGod

This is why I was complaining in earlier chapters about random idiots giving writing "advice" to the author. A creator performs to their best when they enjoy their own creation, regardless of whether it's writing, music, or anything else. When their creation is being changed by outside influence it eventually gets distorted to the point they don't enjoy it anymore and either the quality drops or they stop creating altogether. The mother is great, despite what the crowd of spoiled brats who have no idea what an actually abusive parent is would have you believe. I wish could have had a mother like this.

John Koor

Skimmed it. Not a fan of the mother and forcing a heartfelt chapter on her PoV doesn't help. I get it, she's an overprotective mother bear type. Making me read a chapter from her PoV doesn't help, especially when nothing in the story line actually changes. I bet in the next release when she heads back to the smithy we could have just deleted this chapter and there would be nothing missing. The story would've just gone from her fighting goblins to returning to work. The only confusing part might be why her mom is now running.

The-Anti-Akuma

I'm surprised she still has this reaction to killing goblins, I mean all she has to do is think about what would happen of someone that couldn't defend themselves ran into one or two... Using pretty simple logic would show that every single one left alive is just another risk to someone else

D

I think i like silvias pov - but i dont like alias behavior, it dosnt click with the last chapter. There was no indication that she had another "im a monster" breakdown. Still, i understand it had to happen so silvia could shine, but i kinda wish it was done in a more natural way.

BritishBob

As others have said. I like the PoV shift. Wouldn't mind more of them every so often.

tibbish

IMO brief POV switches are fine every now and again but its the MC's story to me and that is what I'd like to read about for the most part

Max Scherer

Okay normally I dont like another PoVs, but this was sweet. I am looking forward to more!

SpaceGoddess76

It would be cool if she started teaching people in her village some fighting skills. Perhaps some of the other hunters can help teach too. That way they are more prepared next time and she could get some cool skills either by watching others or through teaching them.

PortlandPhil

I enjoyed the perspective change, I'm not a huge fan of more than one first-person perspective though. Third-person limited works better in my opinion to avoid confusion over who we are following. If all the other perspectives are first-person it becomes a mess of "I" this or "I" that. Adding a header at the top to tell the reader who we are following is kind of a cop-out. It's very hard to write totally unique characters all in first person. It can be done, but you have to have some way of differentiating how they think and speak.

Andrew Haynes

Good stuff, thanks for the chapter.

Steven

Every once in a while doing chapters from another perspective is great, there's just something so enjoyable about seeing another persons veiw on the main character.

Robert Mullins

I don't have a problem with breakdown itself. I don't think the everyday life of a normal person prepares someone for the psychological consequences of fighting hundreds of vaguely human monsters. I just think he should have done more to set it up at the end of the last chapter.

Garend

This chapter was pretty bad. Together, she's about 40 years old, and she has a complete Emo breakdown about killing pests. It's honestly disturbing how childish it was. You also have lean very heavily into characters spewing paragraphs of exposition at each other again. You do that even more than making the MC collapse and faint after a fight.

Andrew

Thank you!

Kddan

This chapter was refreshing. Although since you write in first person it's more jarring since "I" referred to someone I didn't know anymore. In addition to an author note "from x POV" perhaps have the character self-introduce? Because the first sentence confused me, it didn't say "why" she was at the door and kissing her husband, I needed to remember who this was and who husband refers to. I actually forgot the moms name since Aaliyah just calls her mom in the story so when Silvia pops up my mind was still building character info on the name. Unlike Dell where his name is always mentioned for example. Not a problem in later uses of "husband" of course. Very happy to see you exploring and adapting writing style but also don't get pressured by us readers! Thanks for the chapter

This was really a wholesome chapter, i think different perspectives will enhance the experience if done from time to time. Also, you repeated "he tried to recover".

Ungrave

I think this perspective change chapter worked quite well, specifically because it wasn't detached from the main character, it gave a lot of valuable insight into her mother, and you could still tell what the main character was thinking since the mother can read her really well. Usually when I see alternative POVs, they tend to exist to show various misunderstandings, or the shock of the side characters, so it was quite refreshing to have one where the supporting character actually works through a problem the MC is facing, and then doesn’t need to be repeated from the MC's perspective. Thanks for the chapter!

Bunny Waffles

I love when stories that mainly are all from the main character's perspective take a few paragraphs or an entire chapter where they swap to the viewpoint of someone else so that we get to see what the MC and their actions look like from an outside perspective. After all the actions of the MC can take on a different nuance when viewed by someone who doesn't know what is going through their head.

I liked this a lot. In some stories shifting perspective dosen't work and I wouldn't do it all the time but, it was needed this time. A nice way to take a breath and, see a op character from a vulnerable point of view.

Alteron

I also really liked this chapter, the different perspective worked beautifully.

ZCochraine!%

The very beginning felt a little fiddly to try an understand what what time it started and that it was her mom, we haven’t her her name enough. But this was actually interesting to see her mom’s point of view, and that her parents care this much. Maybe a project she could try way later in her life is learning the goblin language, to tell or yell that they aren’t allowed there. And after training with the sword so much shes got to be close to lvl 61. I say this should be Ch 35.5 it starting at a similar timeframe as the previous and is not the MC. Like some other people are esaying the ocasinal change in pov is good, and that this is short is find. You did a very good job wordsmith, however you achieved it.

Niko

really liked this chapter. great to see Aaliyah from a different point of view.

Seth

In my opinion generally a story that sticks to the main character Is great, but often it is good to switch perspectives to give a new view of something, like this chapter, just not too often Or too long, thanks for the chapter.

Cerber

I enjoyed the mothers POV. Just dont abuse it and even tho your chapters are long, the wait for the next chapter still kills me. Then again, i prefer quality over quantity. Okey. Maybe quantity after the main story has been completed, then any amount of side stories is cool. As long as it fleshes the story out ofc

Taylor

I reslly enjoyed the pov!

Osprey36

I think the alternate POV was good, and I think giving them every now and then would be a good thing for the story. I would just warn away from doing several alternate POV in a row unless it connects with the main story somehow (even if it just mentions something like rumors floating around). Was completely turned off of a story when this happened and it wasn't connected at all until probably several main chapters later. Keep up the good work

Caleb Bear

Thanks for the new chapter, it's always interesting to get another perspective in stories since it helps expand our view of the world and gives us a deeper understanding of all the characters.

Call0013

I hope she Gets Teaching,Training, tutoring, ect skills from helping her Mother improve her skills. Training, tutoring, ect I assume would come from helping people Improve Skills they already have and Teaching would be Teaching them New Skills. that they dont have yet.(I assume Teaching people new Skill would be a Higher Tier skill than Just helping them Improve Skill they already have).

Caleb Bear

Always good to see you to two, Sarette! to two -> too
