NICE

Yashakami

Cut the period problems down to 1 or 2paragraphs and you have a decent chapter. Its unnecessarily drawn out, this is 70 chapters into the story. This would be like you describing a fancy breakfast and saying that it's only the second breakfast she ever had. It doesn't make sense to draw so much attention to it. Maybe a better example would be if you wrote about her having a rank fart for no reason. Pointless

Alexander Krikorian

Also those damn venetians at constantinople.

olyver

A moment of silence for Mr. Lennard Grey, his contribution to this story has been brief, but promises to end hilariously.

Nobody

Fun Fact: it was actually pretty rare in the medieval era for an attacking army to burn a city and kill its population. In most cases when pillaging soldiers would take any small gold or silver objects, some food and alcohol, and if it was cold a blanket. Hollywood shows them running off with everything not nailed down but they typically had to at least walk all the way home with their plunder. Not to mention conquering countries typically wanted to be able to use a city themselves after they captured it, so wholesale slaughter was almost never on the table. All that said when it did happen it was typically worse than Hollywood and a lot of the worst examples were in the HRE, one particularly disturbing episode involved every woman in the city being nailed to their own homes front doors, twice, by 2 different armies one of which was supposedly their allies.

Dikfor

Got Milk? And maybe a new chapter?

Straven

I think his reaction when he, if he does, learn about her ability to cancel contracts at will will be like. Thanks for the chapter.

rasmus1070

Can't wait for another new chapter. Love the story so far : )

Andar

on one side I agree - she needs some problems to learn that she can't always power through before se got clashed against really powerfull opponents. On the other side this is not a fitting example because her soul abilities are too powerfull to fail against a simple contract. But the author comments on the general's fight give hope that that this will come some time in the future, and this won't be a story with the usual "MC overpowers everything".

Ninetails

Heck. with her soul manipulation skill, she might be able to do all sorts of things through established contracts.

Monika Djomi

So no dice?. Alright then, looking forward to Tuesday!.

Tristan Medina

Didn't it mention somewhere earlier in the story that dwarveshave a lower fertility rating? Also that they tend to be higher level? Connection there.

Tetsuki

Nope, I do not agree. The skill should likely even be easier to negate now. She has the soul manipulation skill now. Before she only had soulsense. Since she can now actively manipulate the soul she should have a far easier time getting the contract out or even being able to make it so it does not disperse in her soul.

Mr Ove

Well other kids her age wouldn’t be at her lvl so I feel like that would change things also

Jonathan

I didn't even think of her maybe passing the charm test here. I like that idea. However, getting even more out of the 'lying fool' doesn't sound to me like someone trying to get a mutually fair contract.

Stephen Pearson

I suspect there's more to it than just the ability to duck out, as near-absolute as that seems to be for this sort of influence. Instead, I think she'll use her charm further fueled by the enthusiasm he's forcing her to generate with the better understanding of good and bad deals to make it a mostly fair contract. At least, that's my hope! As a bonus, if it does work out that way then she's likely to break past the charm first tier challenge.

Desurtfawks

That will have no consequences whatsoever.

rasmus1070

Longer lifespan, more time to relax and find a good time to do it, I guess

Jonathan

I think it would be a good thing if Aaliyah runs into trouble ducking out of this contract, perhaps because of his higher skill, the preparation, her own low-level contract skill interacting with his, or a combination of some sort. It wouldn't necessarily completely counter her ability to negate the contract, but she should have some trouble gathering all the pieces, separating them from her own soul/skill substance, or at least suffer some of the backlash herself. Or maybe it really teaches her a lesson by making her adhere to the lousy contract she accepts in her arrogance, at least until her Soul skills level enough to eventually get out of it.

Ranyaws Bluefire

Those were my thoughts too, but I wasn't too sure about voicing them. Also, if this means her biology is slowed by a factor of 10, she currently has a life expectancy of about 700-800 years, right? That would be pretty cool, and plenty of time to try and get pregnant, if she wishes to do so. Also, if it's more towards hyper-fertility, then I'd guess that the world has some reliable contraceptives, or there would already be a little sibling on the way for her. :D

Chris

If there is 10 months between periods, does that mean she ovulates for several months? That would mean women with high vitality get pregnant easier, as there would be a large window. Which would mean they would have to go months without having sex for fear of being pregnant. Or their bodies can kill it all. Or they short window, how the hell would they ever get pregnant with a massive 10-month window and a short time. Unless they can control when the egg drops. And if they can control when it drops, they would not have a period.

Nick

Liked the chapter, could do without the period talk. If she needs a reason to talk to a clothes vendor just make up something about needing a new pair of pants after having run for an entire day at like 100km/h. Friction has got to be a killer on her clothes, especially between her legs.

rasmus1070

I really like this chapter. Plus it was more refreshing when she gave us some insight on how it is to be a girl, since she was a guy in the beginning. More of that could be cool, as long as it doesn't break the story. I really love the story : )

Imspinnennetz

I hope that Aaliyah considers using Reel as a counterbalance to get a better contract from Grey. Reel is more likely to be reliable and already has a better connection with Aaliyah. (She understands some of his motivations) Grey on the other hand has not shown any reason for a relationship based on trust.

Mark Bird

thanks for the chapter honestly it feels a bit like a filler chapter but that is inevitable and we did get story progression

Alteron

Thanks for another great chapter, looking forward to what happens next.

Toni Pampliega

It recalls me of Erin in her first days in Liscor. "She spits blood!!", that crazy human. I Hope you have overcome the 40 Writer Skill middlestone and you are at level 41. And hope we will get 2 chaps per week soon enought! Take care XD.

Carl Mason

Great chapter, thank you for continuing to write in your current , seemingly, miserable condition.

Ranyaws Bluefire

I liked the chapter, and honestly, I don't understand the people going "duude you so cringe" or "women aren't just period machines!" Guys(you other commenters), if there's something wrong, maybe you could actually correct the misconception? If people want this to be an acceptable topic to talk or write about and have more accurate information on it, maybe make less of a big deal out of it? It'll just cause everyone to shy away from the entire topic. Also, I do think it has a place in a story where a former male is now a female. Also, also, I think people massively underestimate how hormonal teens can act/be. Or how it can be different for every individual. E: Wasn't cringe for me at all, but I've always had a family that was open about all kinda stuff that other families don't talk about, so I don't know if I'm a good benchmark.

ZCochraine!%

Chapter good, reasonable reactions with the normal people of the city, mead some actually decent people, receptionist be weird again. And while everyone is pointing out the glaring inaccuracy with periods, which is very true, the MC probably legit didn’t know last time and didn’t have anyone correct him. Plus he barely got thought a advanced high school chemistry and science course, him knowing about human anatomy properly was not in his knowledge base, so that more a him problem then the author’s. Probably. If so it could have actually made it a touch more realistic considering she was a he last time, its internally consistent. Doesn’t make it anymore wrong for someone to get it wrong IRL. Also, so far this and Wandering Inn are the only stories that address how such things are dealt with in pre modern society and how all these super magical powers effect it.

Sondadir

Did she just cassualy break a man wrist ? Yes, she need to work a bit on her stealth skill. You can't just do that on broad day light !

Trevor

Spelling: harboring reviled (revealed) itself That stets (sets) my old heart at ease new armor dawned (donned)

olyver

Great chapter, I hope you feel better.

CyclopsSlayer

Thanks for the fun story. Even the cringe-worthy bits. “That stets my old heart at ease” - sets "I quickly pass past the many farmsteads" - either just 'pass' or 'ran/run past' or 'pass by' "With my new armor dawned, " - donned

Blackmoon11

Actually, it has been brought up a few times in the past, mostly in the first 10 chapters. I wouldn't expect anyone in their right mind to remember that (I have been rereading the series lately)

Bookman

Thanks for the chapter. Keep it up you do an amazing job.

Robert Mullins

I don't know if there are any litrpgs that benefit from talking about periods randomly 70-ish chapters into the story but I'm confident that this is not one of them.

tibbish

Personally I love the cringe! A good monthly cringe that makes my face lock up in a rictus of agony for a solid minute is almost as good as for your heart as running a mile!

Rallaster

Thanks for the chapter. Hope you're doing better.

FunkyCredo

This is some pure r/menwritingwomen cringe

Hangwind

I feel like Mr. Grey is going to get the Darkest Dungeon treatment.

Sergei

"Woman's monthlies help flush their systems, a fact every adult knew in my past life." Duuuuuuuude

Stephen Pearson

I think it was to give an excuse for her to interact with some random decent people (the old couple in the store) after seeing the predictably poor behavior of a bunch of folks freaking out.

Ungrave

It seems like she's doing some good introspection. Perhaps she should work on that more when she meditate sometimes so she can properly analyze all her emotional states as they come. She's hit a level of power where there isn't much room anymore for making trivial mistakes without dire consequences. Good chapter. Thanks for the chapter!

Julkur

Nice chapter! I really enjoy these slice of life moments like the "monthly visitor" although a part wants some faster story development :)

Ungrave

I agree, this storm might be better to weather it out just from Aaliyah's perspective. No need to see the bigger picture directly.

thkiw

I didn't like that whole thing about periods. It felt out of place. Like the author just wanted to fill in space and didn't know what to write about, so he remembered 'girls have periods, right?' And put it in there for some cliche writing. I understand they struggle with it, but girls aren't just period machines. There are plenty different things to talk about being a girl that aren't periods. It honestly kinda sucks, feels cliche and kinda just 'ughh' like indeed.

Hunendora

Thank you for the chapter. I hope we stick with Aaliyah for a while. 😄

Andrew

Thank you!

Hunendora

I believe she means that rather than serving Silver Herd's interest as the branch manager, he is serving his own by making a personal contract with her. He is using his position to make himself richer at the expense of the company. Generally frowned upon, especially by the company who is getting ripped off.

Seth

Thanks for the chapter!

Notlimah

Yay!

Vegetables

Thanks for the chapter! That said I would seriously murder anyone trying to use mind bending skills on me if in was in Aaliyah's place.

Cobbly

What was he lying about? A guy wants to make money, right? Did Aaliyah assume he was in it for the fun of trading?

Cobbly

Heh. 69. Nice.

Vegetables
