Reel doesn't seem that bad. :)

jiecut

Yeah patron sucks a lot. epubs/PDFs can be better for these long posts.

Jon Oliphant

This is quite good. I just wish Patreon had better presentation of the materials. Web Novels to start with suffer from page loading, Patreon's lack of proper navigation is even more annoying.

Chad Hagner

I really like this story and I'm excited to see her leave the village! Keto up the good work!!!

Burning Tendon

You're improving as an author, and others have already pointed out some of the things that I might have. So I'll just say, I like it, and I can't imagine that opinion changing anytime soon! (and also, now that the MC is interacting with the wider world, things are getting more interesting)

Overclocked

This doesn't make sense. The general didn't give a deadline did she? Why the rush?

Dylan Coles

Need... More... Chapters.... Entering chapter withdrawal....

Matt M

Correction needed: He lowers his hand, and his previous southing smile is back on his face. Should be "soothing".

Steven Palmer

I agree tho,. Should let her know

Alteron

I don't think Kervin knows

ShadeByTheSea

You think it'd be a good time for Kervin to inform her that she lights up like the sun to anyone with sense mana.

Scott

Led astray by RR updates again, lol.

Meowzor

I think the village just is not a very interesting place. Aaliyah is quickly outgrowing the place and the author will introduce more exciting places and characters.

Vinícius Zanchetta vieira

Not Thomás, those, stupid translator, i also have faith that autor Will amaze us with next chapters, good luck

Vinícius Zanchetta vieira

We have seen good development around the protagonist and Thomás that are close around her e also got good glimpses around her country, but i have To agree, her village was never flashed out until now, i hope that after this mission for the arrows, autor will give us a better ideia off the vilage, who knows, it could be because she became famous after crafting for the general and now merchants are going there and the village is growing,

Julkur

One minor detail to complain about : the villagers are pathetic! How can they rely so much on her? The conversation with Camden would be the perfect opportunity to change that. With one or two little sentences like :" Thanks to your gifted spears so many men started their training and the first unlocked a spear skill." or "The display of your fighting abilities motifated the villagers to train their spear skills."

Julkur

Why does "Enter" post my comment? I wanted a new line 😭

Julkur

Great chapter of a great story.

Miriduriel

I for one hope that we finally get to see MCs updated stats in the next chapter, last one was in C47 and i usually go through it multiple times and use it to pass the time and theorize what might happen next while i wait for the next chapter. For example, i'm looking forward to find out if making that arrow might help her get the expel mana skill past lvl60 trial as it was at lvl59 in C47.

Alteron

Or if she visit her brother, and Sandra's master is near :-)

Ensos2

Anyone else wondering what the people with Mana Sense above lvl 10 are going to think once they see her since it was established that she shines like a beacon to anyone with some levels in that skill. I believe the Mage's Guild, or whatever the equivalent is, is going to have an eye on her soon enough.

Matt S.

I don't to be honest. I much prefer having all the comments in one place. There is a limit to how many discord channels you can follow and ideas/comments will inevitably be missed.

Rui Lourenço

I really wish there was a discord for this story.

RanaSuilep

The only problem is one of those issues was taking advantage of the other person. Kervin should be dropped like the piece of garbage he is and the MC needs to start asking some hard questions. But for some reason she seems completely oblivious to all monetary matters and no one seems to correct her for some reason. I mean she finds out Kervin has been robbing her blind and she just shrugs it off. Yeah, that is not how anyone real would act when finding out they had been robbed, even if the robber told them. I suspect a mental fume fever centered in the brain due to her magic. Making her incompetent, developmentally challenged, and with bouts of insanity.

Alteron

What i get from this chapter is that Aaliyah and Kervin has been working and trading together for over 3 years, we have seen them joking and having fun together. They both lost their way for a bit, Kervin in his lust for gold, and Aaliyah in a rush of power. But now they are both threatened, and they chose to stand together.

SpaceGoddess76

By any chance do you have a Discord server??

Malcolm

I have to say this is probs my favourite book this year! keep it coming.

fuble878

her mana sense is probably on par with some of the best mages in the country....

PatronTurtle

It's a reel* easy way to come across as something other than a spy/assassin/whatever he is. That asshole at the bar can't be more than he seems. He's drawing too much attention to himself.

Brian P.

So is Kervin officially the second MC at this point?

Hunendora

Using your descriptions, yes, I think she's going to end up Magic-Smithing. ;^) We've seen her enormous ability at internal magic structures. Once she figures out how enchanting works, I don't think it would take her much longer figure out how to forge those structures into the metal itself.

ActionKermit

In before Aaliyah's idea to run through the forest alone while carrying a small fortune in precious metals results in her getting jumped by bandits.

Daniel Dawson

Yeah, her using her Tier-5 skill caused waves, but I’m wondering if her Level-78 Mana Sense won’t cause almost as much fuss if it becomes known. With it she has, so far, seen through some very good concealment magics, and using it has allowed her to copy runes with almost no effort, despite the precautions the enchanters made to conceal them. There can’t be many people with Mana Sense that high.

Bobtur

Praise our boy, as he once again soit nonsense about economy, focus entirely on the gold part, while missing she’s acting out of concern for her and her loved one safety.. Kids those days :/

RanaSuilep

/sigh. A decent chapter, but once again the MC doesn't even think things through. It is like she has a complete blind spot in regards to money. Kervin said he had been cheating her, even when he decides to be 'generous' he only givers her 50 out of the 100 GP that was supposedly earned. That is half at best. While he gets 30% and lost another 20% due to his failiures. If he was really looking out for her, he should have given her 70 GP, while he eats the 20 GP loss instead. But once again the MC is mentally oblivious to money issues and common sense. At this point it is a character trait, but it is honestly disconcerting with how much attention she pays everything else. Like seriously, what is the problem with using %s? Is it like Medieval times where lending money was banned to Christians so only Jews could be bankers, instead in this world %s are considered non-mainstream? Because that is the only explanation that makes sense. I mean any society with a system would have developed decent levels of math, especially since the EXP increases are % based, which makes this lack of %s a massive plot hole,. Just like how she gained any trade levels when she was being monetarily raped this entire time.

D

I like the chapter. Also the reclusive leaves his hole? Now thats a new thing. ^^ Will be interesting to see her brother and his wife again. Thought they should have come back by now, or was it in spring after winter? No matter. :) She was a bit 'eager' to show off there, to certain of herselfe, but thats also a way to grow. She is still only an adult by their law, not by nature, even with her past memories, one shoudnt forget the body in that equation. I think its also nice to 'see' other locations. We mostly know about the village and its suroundings, a bit of emilys castle, but everything else is only tell tale. So im kinda exited to read about a new location. How does a 'city' in that world look? :)

Loyal Patreon follower

why did dhe use her tier 5 skill? seems a forced way to show she has it

Michael Bojan

I liked this chapter it represents a change of pace and location which from timing perspective I think is coming at the right time. You also have a great set up for future conflicts and story line possibilities. One thing - more so from a macro magic perspective I have a question is? Does the MC want to do enchanting or magic-smithing - I think those are distinct things / professions. I think this is something which the MC will hopefully have some sort of realization or discovery on. I mean it could be something like instead of using magic ink - you use similar type items in the forging process and shape it in the rune shapes - embedded into the materials themselves. I.e. from my perspective an enchanter is someone which takes a normally crafted item (i.e. without enchantments) and enchants that items. A magic-smith is someone who creates a magic imbued item which has properties similar to enchantments.

Scyfe

I believe the headsman's daughter was also able to see her mana which is how they knew about her. I may be wrong but it is my understanding that everyone who can detect mana will be able to see mana as she literally has a huge bubble of it wrapped around her as armor at all times.

Shan Malviya

kervin is a greedy merchant. He is only using general's name to put pressure on aaliya. Even if he failed to deliver the arrow, the most that could happen is that he would lose some money but he made aaliya think that it would be bad for both of them if the arrow is not made within a time limit, which is clearly exaggerating the situation. He is playing with the trust and feelings of aaliya.

Dylan Coles

The chapters here! Thx for the chapter

Sebastian Osterbrink

One question I have after reading it twice is why Kervin thinks that there is a time limit? The general didn't mention it in their last talk. Is it just them misunderstanding something or did I miss it somewhere?

Dopplerdee

Shes never been to Drey, new big town with no clue where to go.

tibbish

its squee, you done squee'd yourself

Thundermike00

Why can’t the mc and reed run to drey with silver head token then they do business with whoever there and get a carriage from them and bring it to the mid point the merchant would be at then switch everything over to the merchant for him to return? Wouldn’t this save more time?

ZCochraine!%

Aaliyah had better extract some bit secrets from Four instead.

Vyktor

Gnaaa! Chapter already read, I need another 😭

Chemnerd263

Haven't read it yet, but I just made the noise reserved for when you see a cute baby animal.

Andrew

Thank you!

Matt S.

I can already see a "Aha, you used a tier 5 observation skill on me! "HOW DO YOU KNOW THE TIER OF MY SKILL??" "You just confirmed it ...."-moment. But yeah, talking with people in Drey and seeing the work of other people should help put her own skill in context. Can't wait for her to see the work of other blacksmiths and enchanters. :D

Matt S.

I mean the answer to that question is obviously diving into the memories of her discussion with her nerd friend who couldn't shut up about forging and metallurgy and use some of those ideas in this world. :p Other than that, I don't think she has to necessarily use this skill for forging since it already has many benefits for everything else. I'm pretty sure she'll get other 5th tier skills at some point too. Maybe a magic or directly crafting related one.

It'sATap

honestly, the silver guys seem pretty nice so far. Sure they have sketchy elements but they are smart and accommodating. Her joining them for a time might be in her best interests frankly.

Shan Malviya

It's still explainable that she has not seen the true face of the world but still, if we consider her previous life then she should at least know about the conditions of girls in underdeveloped countries like in Africa, what's more, she is living in medieval age where information is scarce. I am waiting for a response from her parents and if they decide to come with her to Drey then it would be a perfect base for the story to develop into a tragedy. Silver Herd can control her parents to use her and if they didn't do it then I would start to doubt how they became so successful merchants.

Shan Malviya

I can't understand why she is so trusting in a merchant who sold her once and 3 unknown men to go with them to an unknown place in a world where strength dictates everything with nobles and bandits run amok. How can she trust a merchant, a spy, and two mercenaries with her safety?

Sebastian Osterbrink

She is not Giovanni's granddaughter. That's the village healer. Her maternal grandfather is a different merchant.

Bunny Waffles

Because if she is TOO rare, too strong, then that means that those with power will either snatch her up, taking her from her home to use her, or eliminate her before someone else could get their grubby hands on her. That is her fear at the very least and lets be honest here, when people who are high enough level are practically demigods with what they can do, there isn't any saying "NO" to someone like that. She might end up working for them with no say in the matter herself, and no matter how well they might treat her, no matter how much you gild the bars, a cage is still a cage. That is part of the reason why she was told to NEVER reveal her tier 5 skills. Do you really want her whole life determined by the likes of nobles jockeying for power and influence with little regard for the pawns they use in their games? I mean the leader of the Silver Hand has sent away all of his children and given the illusion of estrangement simply because he fears a business rival taking them and using them as leverage in their dealings or simply to hurt him. That is NOT the kind of people Aaliyah wants to draw the attention of and the world is full of people like that who would use her in a heartbeat.

Obran

Besides with that last bit in the Reel section, what would Aaliyah think if she discover That a prominent blacksmith family in Drey had been killed or beaten up to accommodate her needs for an anvil.

Obran

One thing I don't understand. Why run back to her village. If the arrow is that desperately needed can't she just "borrow" a blacksmith or weaponsmith's shop in Drey?

Cerber

I guess its time for her to learn how careless she has been. Cant wait to see the "aha, i screwed up didn't i?"

Ray Burns

I enjoyed this chapter but I don't really understand this obsession with secrecy. Aaliyah is super strong for her age but not unique. And what is the problem with being known as strong. Yeah, a lot of people will be interested in her but none of them want to hurt her. SIlver Hand wants to make money off her but they're bending over backwards to accommodate her. And the general wants weapons from her but she's paying for them. It comes across a little bit like "oh no, don't show off your skills or you might be given... opportunities (gasp)". Does she really want to stay in her village anyway. Seems not really.

ParoxysmDK

I really enjoyed this chapter, it also had a nice length, and i´m looking forward to see how everything is going to go when she (at last) goes outside of the comfort zone of her tiny village. Also can´t wait to see how her granddad reacts when he realizes that she´s actually his granddaughter. Keep up the good work :)

Garend

I think that's what this chapter was. She's used to being the Big Bad of the Village, with only Del being stronger than her. She just whooped the Headsman in front of a crowd, and is feeling pretty secure. Of course, this is just a small village. Hopefully this was a wakeup and she will doubledown on griding her combat skills.

Carl Mason

Excellent chapter, but I am so mad at Aaliyah. She needs to stop showing off her sensitive skills to people who cannot be trusted. Hopefully she figures out how little of a fish she is before she finds out how big the pond is.

Sondadir

Knowing how to keep your cool is a rare quality. And our heroine is clearly on edge, this is not the first time that she has compromised herself with a stroke of blood.

Tera

Wow, good chapter, as always 😍 Let's see drey !!! Will she see her brother?

Jack Greycore

I don't really understand why she so freely broadcasts her identification skill and it's accuracy. Seems bizarre to just give over that information when she often declares how much she values secrecy.

Mr Ove

Thanks for the chapter! It was well put together and makes me hyped for the next one. Just one question when Four(Reel) first spied on her he could see her mana? noting that she a monster (or something like that) my question is was that a rare skill that four has or if she goes to a bigger city like Drey will more people see her power? Like does she need to learn a way to hide her power through a skill, item or is she safe cause it not a common skill. Cause I feel like a bigger town will prob have magic users/enchanters etc that might be more sensitive to that “power/mana” then her little village with no magic users lol. Also are we going to meet up with her bro n friend! Though she is in a rush.. can’t wait keep up the good work!!

Sanairb

Reel comes across as a super skeevy creep with all that staring and winking.

Rui Lourenço

She had to learn her lessons somewhere. And she did regret her behavior, so that was nice.

J03MAN

I've been thinking about how aaliyah could use her perceive Soul skill to help her in blacksmithing. The only thing I could think of is if animism has some validity in this universe. Start by observing people's Souls then work her way down to smaller and smaller animals until she's looking at bacteria and maybe even The "souls" of inanimate objects.

Håkan Friberg

Perhaps not a solid 10/10 solution but a really great chapter none the less. Keep it up, and thanks!

lenkite

Aaliyah behaves like a [Stupid Teenager] here. She should have just kept her mouth shut instead of engaging with Reel. Anyways its not all that bad. She can Reel for [Sword Lessons] while breaking for camp during travel. DON'T let the opportunity go to waste!

Stephen Pearson

Really enjoyed the chapter, thanks! Good to see the growth in Kervin's part, though it was a complete turnaround in one step, which seemed pretty quick. Still like this version a lot better. Kind of surprised that she didn't apologize to Reel though, as she clearly identified that she had behaved badly.

Rui Lourenço

So good! Keep those chappies coming as fast as you’re able while still having fun writing!

Icewolf

this time chapter were late due to you being very busy. last time the chapter were late due to the rune images for enchanting. I dread the time when the two happen at the same time. the best would probably be for you to come up with a better way for the enchanting and runes. maybe give them names and explain what they do but without the need to explain how they look like. make easier on yourself in a way that doesnt take up long time like creating images for runes like you have. you can even frame it as Aaliyah experimenting with no knowledge of enchanting, and make changes once she is introduced to more knowledge in the field or gets a teacher of some sort. you already said that enchanters hide the look of rune with some sort of trick so other people cant easily get their secrets. the current images of the runes can also be explained as so depending on how you want the rune system for enchanting to be going forward. just my thought. its your story and you probably have some plans already.

Alteron

Great chapter, really enjoyed it, can't wait for what happens in Drey

Cobbly

Also, Aaliyahs teenage foolishness comes out to play. Isn't she supposed to value secrecy? Well. I suppose characters need to grow to make a story interesting. Well... not really. Paragon heroes exist.

Cobbly

Aaliyahs willingness to go to Drey seems a bit... rushed? This whole chapter feels just really rushed.

ActionKermit

Spared -> sparred when it refers to practice fighting

Re1ncarnated Salamander

Nice 🥳🥳

Milandaanza

I was going to sleep. Guess not yet! Oh this was a good one. We see Aaliyah showing off like a teenager and giving out too much information, Kervin finally buying a clue and a hook for her to leave for Drey. Will we have a moment of family time with her brother? And I so don’t like that run back. I feel like four is going to accompany her tho.
