I don't *think* any of the changes have substantially altered the story. It seems like mostly details (crafting accuracy and system consistency mostly) and tweaks to presentation. You can enjoy them when you reread the story later! :)

The-Anti-Akuma

You know, sometimes I see chapters update and wish I could knew what changed.. But I don't want to reread a whole chapter just to find out what changed.

Hoshi Boshi

Thanks for the chapter! Though why should she be worrying about if they noticed she has no shoes, when she is technically floating? Both at the hunter and village scene.

fbt

ty for the chapter

Håvard

At least after she get the points upgraded so she does not waist the .41 .47 .59 and .36 that she have already earned. considering you get 5 points for an level up losing those "2" points she have already gotten would hurt.

Nick

Just food for thought. at what point does she need to start working smarter not harder? Her mental stats are falling well behind the others and are now her 3 lowest stats (senses, mind and clarity) . Surely for advanced magical crafting techniques you need your mental stats leveled up and your mind in the right place so that you can better understand and develop your skills. I'd imagine the same holds true for many of her Tier 4 and 5 abilities. They are mental skills ( mental resistance, soul sense etc) and in my mind at least I'd have thought that they would be more integrated to her mental stats then her physical stats. e.g. lower stat == harder to level associated skills. my logic could be wrong i guess but i thought I'd put it out there.

Gremlin Jack

This is something I've noticed before, you keep using 'defiantly' when you mean 'definitely'. Those are not the same thing :p

Bobtur

Her stats attribution went by 3 batches : First batch : the 10 years old mass attribution Second batch : the 15 years old adulthood stats atteibution Third batch : a few days before the goblin march to give herself every edges she could get Now she’s distributing her points in physical stats to improve her crafting skills. Mental and magical stats are growing with her skill training and smithing practicing.

Miriduriel

I just cant let it go :( the fact that MC suddenly goes DERP and spends her stat points is killing me, if she had used them to test out if she can pinpoint what happens to the lost progress on the stats she increases then i would get it but no explanation on why she pulls a full 180 turn on how to handle her stats is just bugging the hell out of me. And even if she did it to test if she could see more on what happens when she adds stats that would not have explained why she added stats to Vitality, to round it to a nicer number? Not in character, not in any way that i could explain it to myself and i have tried, oh i have tried :( IF she had a reason to dump the stats then please some one explain it to me as i can't understand and it is taking the joy out of the story for me :( Looking trough the stats has helped me wait out the time until the next chapter but now it just gives me a headache.

Cobbly

Something awful is going to happen to this village.

ZCochraine!%

We will have to see. Though I suspect it just keeps going.

Alteron

What happens when a skill reaches 100? Is it just maxed out or does it advance to a more complex skill?

Matt S.

Again this is all constructive feedback, I hope you don't mind. An example is the section after "I use Extract Mana (...)", where for ten sentences in a row you start the sentence with "I" followed by the verb. In my opinion, if the first person view context is established properly, every description of the immediate environment that is accessible to the senses of the person in question can be considered as seen by the first person author, without having to re-establish that it is indeed "I" that is actively watching this. Another option is to use gerund ("ing-form") at the beginning of the sentence to shift the "I" towards the middle of the sentence such that not every sentence starts the same and feels repetitive, i.e. "Walking around the room, I ..."

tibbish

While I agree with 1 a whole lot and am mostly OK with 2 I totally disagree with your prediction of how people would react to critiques in the last bit of your post. I personally don't see an author apologizing for something as a 'lack of self confidence' or a 'lack of respect for the reader' and I have a hard believing that there are enough people out there who would think that to matter much. That being said if an author doesn't thank me I don't get terribly upset either and I'd be baffled if someone did.

Day S

I want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to write something for us to enjoy. It is my hope you continue to write , and to become an even better writer as well.

Matt S.

I'm not sure if this is just me, but I have the feeling that recently you have started using sentences of the structure "I [verb] something" more frequently. Maybe it's something to watch out for in your writing as in first person it is easy to fall into a repetitive pattern that doesn't flow nicely and reads more like a mechanical list of actions being done one after the other. Maybe try mixing it up a bit? Otherwise, great job, looking forward to the next chapter! Keep up the good work :)

Bad Timing

Excellent chapter as usual. Something I forgot to comment in the previous chapter: My only issue is that clearing 30 feet of forest around the village shouldn't require so much manpower, since the first 30 feet should be quite spare tree-wise. Beside, 30 feet is not much help given the size and speed of the spiders. With a good chunk of the village on rotation to clear them, I would argue in favor of 'nearly 300 feet' instead of 'nearly 30', especially since the village should be surrounded by farms in most directions.

Bobtur

Have you never heard of Sward Art Anline ?

Stephen Pearson

Interesting. I thought her attack-the-human reaction was the stranger of the 2. Though you're not wrong that you shouldn't sneak up on folks in the woods.

Giperman

Ronald is fucking dunce. You shouldn't sneak on people right after the battle, and not even apologizing after you startle and making fool of them

Robert Mullins

In the grandest show of irony I've managed in a while, I wanted to mention something about how you've handled critique in the past. 1.) If people suggest a change or complain about something, it's important to recognize that you have 900 patrons on here and that 'only' 5 people thinking something could have been done better is a huge achievement. I say this because you seem to go back and make edits fairly often and while some of them might be warranted I would hardly say that about all of them. 2.) Never Apologize as a response to a suggestion/critique, especially so when you actually go back and implement it. A suggestion/critique that you feel improves the story enough to be worth editing in can only be considered as you receiving advice, a gift, or a favor. If somebody helps you, you say thank you. Not I'm sorry. Plus regardless of how you take the critique and whether or not you implement it, Apologizing just shows a lack of self-confidence and a lack of respect for the readers.

Hey, wb, social distancing might not be cool, but at least is relaxing. ^^ correction: s (LV12), Sward Arts (LV6), Mar Sward Arts (LV4-6) 1,500exp sword :)) Im not certain why she has to have the skill an inch away from her when the previous one was directly on her skin, but you might want to include that the skill around her fists and feet is in the form of mittens. As it is, my first thought of her grabbing stuff was: Dont her fingers hurt when they are spread by two inches in sum? x)) Only then i thought of mittens which would alleviate the problem. ^_^ Also, if the skin does not have friction, woudnt that make for a great movement skill? Skating around the woods sounds fun.

Zerfdin

You will find them Online....

CyclopsSlayer

The easiest 'fire' arrow would be replacing the head with some kind of munition. A modern wick wouldn't be extinguished in flight. So, think an incendiary firecracker type of thing. Radical range reduction and loss of accuracy. A better solution might be a flame quarrel from a crossbow. cf: https://wasfun.weebly.com/fire-arrows---the-first-explosive-rockets.html

Darastrix

Mr author I suggest you do research on fire arrows, I would appreciate if the arrows are enchanted in some way with mana to make them fire arrows, cause IRL fire arrows don't really exist because of physics.

Kristaps Kramins

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Why do it the masochistic way.

Kristaps Kramins

I thought guarding her mana would have been the pass for mana skin but I guess it's a seperate skill? Also what is Sward Art? There is Sword Arts.

The Human

What is sward arts again?

ZCochraine!%

Repeat with ever thiner and compressed mana, maybe making something like mana power armour, with tight bands for muscles and tendons.

PatronTurtle

Now for next Mana Skin test she needs to make a third layer and weave them together. Make a mesh structure like how Kevlar works

Andrew

Thank you!

Richard Paull

Ah, truly Sward Arts are the best...

Mike G.

The skill tires to pull my mana -> tries when I higher tired skill passes a test you immediately feel the difference. -> when _a_ higher “Where are you going, sweaty?” -> sweety (also, LOL :) ) Using my smiting skills with a sword -> smithing (although I guess it _is_ a smiting skill :) )

Ungrave

Thanks for the chapter!

ZCochraine!%

Interesting how mana skin improves. I suppose she could ask her dad Del and her mon to try and use some of their mind related skills on her, like dells incredibly effective intimation or angry skill back when he first learnt she could use magic to level up Mental Resistance.

Stephen Pearson

Woohoo! Thanks for the chapter:-)
