Ice Watercolor
🕑 Added 2025-06-20 14:00:18 +0000 UTCHappy Friday! And happy (almost) Summer solstice! Here's some new artwork to help cool you down as we transition into the hottest time of the year.
A couple months back I ran a charity auction on here for my nephew and the winner of that chose Tora Olafsdotter, better known as Ice, in her Batman: Brave & the Bold outfit. Was finally able to get her completed this week.
Did something a little different this time and only used watercolor--no ink. Thought the softer approach might better fit Ice. Took a little while longer, but I enjoyed the process, so I'll likely do it again. In fact, I couldn't help myself and started a drawing of her teammate Fire to pair with this one. Will likely put that one up for auction sometime next week.
Also, I've been asked a lot, so apologies for not making it out to HeroesCon this year. Trust me, I wish I was there. But two family vacations bookending quickly approaching deadlines made it impossible. I should be there next year though.

Yup! Used a size 4 brush this time which is finer than my usually size 6. Worked well!

I couldn’t be more in love with this piece! Mike really knocked it out of the park. Tora looks sweet, curvy, bold and strong. I especially love this costume vs. her original 80’s swimsuit and her most well-known 90’s vest / ski suit. I think it brings out her personality more and gives ice skating princess vibes. I can’t wait to see what Fire looks like in Mike’s style!
