I Finished A Video Game

Thanks my friend - but I'm definitely hitting that deadline. I want to be free of the X-Men!

Thanks my friend. I know Steph really appreciates all the support as well - in many ways it's been just as tough on her

I Finished A Video Game

Thanks Justin. I appreciate it

I Finished A Video Game

It very much was but at this point all I can do is wait for it to heal. Thanks for the message and let's hope the end of the year is much better than the rest of it!

I Finished A Video Game

Hope you enjoy it! I feel like between a new Indiana Jones games coming, Dino Crisis releasing on PSN and Nocturne S2 my videos are more topical than ever!

I Finished A Video Game

Yeah it was ridiculously gutting. My first evening outside of the house after over four weeks (and my second set of surgeries this year!) and then it tears and I'm right back to day one. The only benefit is now I have literally zero excuse not to finish the video!

I Finished A Video Game

Honestly it's more for my sake! I just want to get it out there and off my plate so I can have a clear head to tackle the next phase. I think it's a solid video so hopefully people will enjoy it and it can provide a bit of a jumping off point into some positivity!

Thanks Alex. These messages really do give me a lot of strength. It's kinda crazy to know you've got people from all around the world pulling for you!

I Finished A Video Game

Let's hope so my friend. It's been a dark year but I'm really feeling positive at the moment despite everything. I think this video could be a turning point!

don't worry about the news being depressing- if you've got the willpower to keep fighting, describing what you're up against might be daunting or frightening, but it's not depressing. here's hoping there's a day in the near future when this is something you can look back on and not something you have to keep living with.

Alex

While I echo the sentiment of not needing to rush the video, it's clear that it's more than a case of trying to deliver content, and more to push yourself rather than pushing a new video out, and I absolutely respect that. Just remember that, even though it might not feel like it, you are still incredibly strong for pushing through with all of these obstacles in your way. I look forward to seeing the video regardless of when it comes out :D

The depression in a situation like that cannot be overstated, it’s as much mentally taxing as it is physically, if not more-so at times. I remember even the first time I could bathe myself and just sobbed in the shower because I felt the scars, and the new shapes and divets in my chest, and realized I could never be like I was before. I was permanently changed. It just hit me so hard when I was just excited to get out of bed. It’s just completely brutal in so many unique and horrible ways. I almost said “Can’t wait to see it!” because I am so excited to get to watch it, but as the old man says in Toy Story 2 “You can’t rush art.” As a fan purely, there is 0 disappointment in your work or output time. It’s worth it tenfold. Plus you pick the BEST topics to deep dive into the series of, and X-Men?! Oh absolutely, it’s going to be amazing Matt. Genuinely if you ever need to talk feel free to reach out if you can message on here, happy to talk more about my stuff if you want or to listen. Either way thank you for opening up, you’ve got this ❤️

At first, seeing the subject of the email freaked me out, but I'm very glad to see you're doing well, all things considered. Please don't rush yourself to get the next video out, we all just want you to recover and be in good health! We'll all be there day one when the next video drops but until then, just take all the time you need!

I Finished A Video Game

Thanks so much Jay. It's messages like these that give me strength and it means a lot that you'd share that with me. It's been an utterly ridiculous year of colliding between various levels of depression but I'm feeling extremely determined to finish this video and at least take something into my own control. Flop or success - I'll know that I did something on my terms and that is quite a thing to draw strength from when everything feels out of control. So yeah - thanks so much for the message and I hope the video does everyone proud

In 2015 I was in a 55mph head on collision with a collapsed lung, broken ribs, an annular tear in my lower spine, and my right pec entirely severed from my sternum. I was airlifted to my hometown hospital to have surgery to save my life without pain killers or anesthesia. For a full week I was in hospital, and then I spent 8 months completely bedridden at 18. I couldn’t sit up, I couldn’t move, I couldn’t even laugh without deep intense burning that I remember so vividly. I had my incredible mother to help literally grab me and pull me out of bed to walk me to the restroom. It was genuinely the most depressing, horrible, demeaning, and mentally devastating times in my life. That toll is one I am familiar with, but cancer is an entirely separate beast entirely. You’re SO fucking strong Matt. Strength isn’t feeling invincible, strength is when you feel like you’re at your complete weakest and you keep going. On top of that you are amazingly entertaining, have brought a ton of joy to me personally (much less all the people who love your work) and you’re still pushing forward even now. Just a freaking amazing person, you deserve all the love and support we have. Good update or bad, it’s great to hear about you. I hope things get easier soon, but you’ve got this 100%. - Jay

Sorry to hear about the knee, it must be incredibly frustrating for that to happen. Keep it up brother! Life is about getting back up after you fall down.

Alexander Keenan

Thanks for your hard work Matt, really looking forward to the next vid, love X-Men, but in the meantime it's time for a Castlevania rewatch.

Paul Ormerod

Sorry to hear about your knee, that sounds like a proper kick in the bollocks. Hope it heals soon mate, very X-cited for the new episode but can wait

Justin
