It was all so exciting. Winning that bake off reality show and taking the grand prize. For a while there anyways it was fucking great the way everybody showed some well deserved respect to Taylor Smalls - this seasons bake off champ - very well deserved despite him being the butt of some eyebrow raising jokes during the first few episodes.

“Yes, let's do it!” Taylor agreed. “The timing feels perfect.” “I know right?” Dakota smiled. “We could really use the show's popularity to promote us, make us stand out!” Taylor did mean that as well - the show's popularity but more so he meant the need to keep Dakota busy and in charge. Things had really calmed down for Dakota; nothing like back in the day when she was that wild child. Dakota was busy hauling boxes of supplies into the bakery; going in and out of the doors on her own, managing as she always did while Taylor was behind the counter watching her. “Better get to the Inventory.” He muttered. “What the....”
“Hey Taylor!” Curtis greeted him, standing in the storage room. “I offered to take care of inventory and Dakota said it was alright. I’ve got a lot of experience in food cost and inventory.” “Of course you do.” Taylor managed, trying not to hyperventilate.
“Are you okay?” Curtis asked, with a sly smile that seemed out of place if he really meant it.

“Well the floors need mopping and the lot needs sweeping.”
Curtis told him, “Dakota said to tell you to hurry and finish up so we could all head out early.”
No words escaped Taylors mouth. He wanted to scream but no, impossible. All he managed was a gulp as it was clear he had his work cut out for him. Not reaching for the clipboard in Curtis’s hand but rather reaching for the bucket and mop over in the corner he began to do his chores as Curtis watched.

“I know you were.” She smiled, lightly touching his large hand, and then looked up at Taylor as his breath became labored pushing the mop. “Taylor, honey, I’ll see you at home when you are done cleaning up.”
With that, the two of them - Curtis and Dakota walked out of the shop, said goodbye and got into their cars and drove away leaving Taylor alone in his own bakery feeling incredibly small but also - aroused and that bothered him. Taylor stood there. No he was not going to do it. Not going to start his day off being ordered around like this. This was his bakery, he was supposed to be the boss.
“Well, go do it.” Dakota reiterated. “You know where it is - go get it. Is it too heavy? Do you need Curtis to help you out?” “No, I’ll manage.” Taylor muttered, his firm resolve quickly melting. The scale was sitting on a shelf a few feet above Taylors short height. It was going to be tricky but he had to do it. “Umph.” grunted Taylor as he went to his ovens and countertops and began his normal workday routine while Curtis and Dakota began to open up the bakery in the front. He had to admit that the sandwich idea was a good one giving people more reason to come by and enjoy their bakery. Curtis was turning into an asset so why did Taylor feel so insecure and worried? “What do you want with the scale?” Taylor asked, changing the subject.
“Oh man, when I saw this a whole bunch of crazy memories came back from working in the deli. Us guys would get so bored sometimes and we’d find stuff to weigh.”
