The GPU min requirement in my opinion would be a 1080 min. However the CPU is equally important for VAM at the moment as all the physics calculations are run through the CPU. This will be fixed in VAM 2.0

I hear ya brother! I have a similar rig and still reboot my PC, shutdown EVERYTHING before working on a scene. MOAR POWA!
