I feel like Sean just uses his Voice in the worst way, for most of the album. Too monotone, syllables feel too dragged out sometimes. Even when he gives a great lyrical performance in his verses, there's a "boring mood" overshadowing it. It affects his hooks too. But overall; not a bad album

I agree that more people should listen to music with a deeper and positive subject matter, but I just think Sean could’ve did it in a way more interesting way. Check out navy blues last album “Memoirs in Armour”, some of the most interesting and engaging production, with actual well written bars about his own growth and his journey with sobriety. Big Sean is talking about positive things but in a way that’s just very surface level imo
