#79 - big foot orc (repost + commissioner's version + scrap)
🕑 Added 2021-10-19 08:57:54 +0000 UTCThe following MEGA link contains the entire project for your convenience. I'll only be posting a few pics directly onto Patreon.
It'll also include the commissioner's version featuring his characters, though per his requests, I've capped the resolution of his version to 4K.
The following is the commentary from the original post:
What a wonderful commission for a wonderful friend, I had a lot of fun with this one. It is also my first project ever to feature a Goblin! Only took 5 years but we're finally here!
What's the story like for this one? Rather than me explain every little detail, I think it'd be best for you to deduce what's going on yourself. I always think it's more satisfying that way anyways. In any case, there is actual "lore" from my personal worldbuilding that's going on here, and I would love to share it some day as soon as I can find an appropriate medium for it.
A couple of interesting things to talk about on the technical side of things. This Orc is ak0's Orc OC. He has no name (for now), so I'll just call him ak0's Orc. What definitely appealed to me the most about him is his extra body hair. I'm on the record for saying that I generally prefer Orcs with a smooth chest, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that this hairy Orc looks damn fine. It all comes full circle too; I think ak0 created this Orc by modifying the "hairy" Orc textures I sent to him that I created for this 2016 project:

This Goblin OC on the other hand is my OC, Garto the Goblin.
And it's about damn time he's made an appearance in any of my projects. I love his design even if I don't love Goblins that much. He's just so wonderfully sleazy.
Scaling was a bit of an issue here. Garto is about 30% larger than normal. He fit into the scene much more naturally after he was made bigger. His feet and hands are about 85% of normal, and even then they're still huge. Comically huge. Pretty annoying to deal with but I managed.
So what's up with the title? There's a story in that as well. At first, I was going to name this project "horny for hornyfang" because of a little joke I came up with among my close buddies. It worked contextually with the commissioner's actual characters, but with these substituted characters it made no sense unless if I decided to name ak0's Orc into "Mr. Hornyfang", but that seemed rather contrived to me. After staring at the project for a while, I realized well, there's a lot of big feet going on. The Orc has a big foot, the Goblin has a gigantic big foot that I had to make smaller, and the commissioner's handle starts with big foot, so you know what, it's gonna be called "big foot _______".
