Illustrated Dev Diary, November 5th, 2021
🕑 Added 2021-11-05 13:05:29 +0000 UTCFor you that don't know, I have a job in addition to making this. Luckily my 'other' job doesn't get in the way much when developing this game, but this week it did. I had early mornings and late nights for most of the week, so that left very few hours in the evening for Leap of Faith.
In addition to that, my girlfriend came home after being on a six week offshore stint. And because she's going back out already today, we had to get our Christmas shopping out of the way in case she won't be back until then. Also, being home for just one week meant I really didn't want to neglect her any more than I already do posing renders every evening otherwise.
But that's one of the downsides of posting weekly reports, every once in a while there's less progress than others. I've still gotten a bit done, but numbers should be considerably better next week. Story render count is now at 945, and 7,150 animation frames.
I've also started planning one of the major scenes for the 8th and last chapter. And because this is such a huge and unique scene, I reached out to Wibble and Puggy to help me in making the location itself, which they agreed to do. Wibble has already started working on it, and I can tell you it looks amazing. Hopefully we can make something that will blow you away completely before the end of the story.
Anyway, I have to drive my better half to the helipad soon, then I'll take a deep dive back into Leap of Faith. Have a nice weekend all, and stay safe out there.

Indeed, take care, #familyfirst. Also quality over quantity, good things to those who wait etc etc. I bought the game yesterday and HAD to finish it in one sitting, can't wait for my next playthroughs - after I recoverd sufficiently from chap 6 (...) Some amazing writing man; funny, engaging with beautiful renders and animations - the "bunny" cleaning scenes had me laughing out loud. *thumbs up*

As i said at another dev diary... thats how its done, give honestly progress updates with details so everybody can see how its going... nobody expect that every week will be a huge amount of progress, but many other devs are just saying "yeah its been a while and will be" in other words... not from drifty :) enjoy yourself and the time with your family!
