Murphy's Law.
🕑 Added 2021-08-27 11:54:40 +0000 UTCOpen post for everyone this week, so you all know what's going on.
So, basically, everything that could go wrong last week, went wrong. Bottom line, I was laying flat out the whole weekend in pain, and by Tuesday I was admitted to the hospital with a rather nasty infection. I was released a few hours ago, but are still rather woozy and not all there when it comes to concentrating.
I'm not trying to sound overly dramatic about this. There was never any fear of life or anything like that. But there was a point I could not get my swollen head out of the shirt I put on that same morning.
The good news is that I am now aware of the Bob Ross phenomenon which I have been watching for almost 7 days straight. And I believe I can paint, without ever having touched a painting brush. I also giggle when I hear someone beating paintbrushes around.
Of course this came with the downside that I haven't done a single thing on LoF for a full week, and that we're 7 days from release.
I still believe I will be able to finish the Chapter with the quality I want it to have by next Friday - provided I can put in full days from here on, and the Beta testers are available on other days than we initially agreed on. But I am also telling you there's a tiny little chance it might be delayed. It's not a fun feeling telling you this, and maybe it would have looked better with yellow blackground and cyberpunk font, but at least now you know.
I'll give my best effort!
So it's time for me to go beat the devil out of this paintbrush, because the LoF Chapter 6 canvas is still just a blank canvas covered with a layer of Artic White. It's time to start putting in the happy skies.

Finally new month on Patreon! I've been playing and replaying this almost non-stop for the past two days. I absolutely adore this game, the characters, the story, the emotions.... You are a fantastic writer, and damn awesome artist as well. You've really brought me a lot of hours of joy and tears, truly a good thing for this art form. The story for the MC (James, i liked keeping your default naming in place), really hits home for me, while his relationship with his girl was much shorter and it ended with a different twist, I too was in a long term with a girl I thought was the one, only for it to end very very badly. I was hurt, and its been 7 years since then. All this time I've been on pause, recently I've been trying to unpause and start living again. This story is so relatable, and it just made it ever more evident to me that I need to change. You've really brought me in on every level of my thoughts and emotions.. Thank you for taking a Leap of Faith and giving us this amazing story, it truly deserves its place in the world! I'm so sorry to hear about your illness, I truly hope you're doing better. You have a life too, and non of us would want bad for you just to get more work done on this project. I can't wait for the next chapter, but take your time, and don't rush to complete anything over your own health, as someone who sacrificed my own health for other priorities, just take care and be safe! We'll wait till its done, deadlines can move, life is precious! Thank you again Drifty! ok sorry, there is absolutely NO excuse to not put Bob Ross in the game now. But please not as a rival for the girls, nobody would stand a chance against him... we want Bob!

I'm very sorry to hear about your illness, Drifty (even if thinking of Bob Ross does make me smile). I hope you're feeling better. Please don't push yourself too hard to get back on schedule. We're all anxious to play the new chapter, but we've waited this long so a few more weeks aren't a big deal compared to your overall health. We can just think about happy trees while we wait.

Take your time! Make sure your health is in good order first. Then, if you have to take another week or two to finish the chapter do it. I'm sure most, if not all of your patreons would understand. No need to add anymore uneccessary stress onto yourself.

To me it looks, like someone is trying to tell you that time has come to make a leap of faith, drop your current career and become a new Picasso or Dali... ;D On a more serious note, take your time, you cannot or at least should not rush art. And what you are doing is just that. The world will survive one more week without next chapter, I'm fairly sure of that (if it does not and actually end, feel free to hold me acountable for that).

Thank you for the feedback. It boils down to how many things the testers find, and if I find scenes or scene transitions inadequate. My own simple test playing Lexi path was close to how I want it to be, but to add to that is the other 6 girls relation to the mc and/or reaction the the mc not being with them, who/if you set up Chris with and finally the 6 girls scenes when not on the mc's radar. If I did good prepwork it should be fine, but you never know the feeling until you play it. So, I'm hoping at least there's not more pre release work than usual.

Morning, personal opinion would be to give it that extra week. It may rub a few people the wrong way but trying to meet a deadline by pushing 2 weeks of work into one seems daunting and am sure there are many issues that may result from that. BTW am glad to hear you are feeling better and best of luck in the coming weeks
