Dev Diary, 8th of January, 2021

After the release of Chapter 4 and the bugfix version, I took a few days of much needed time off to enjoy the holidays with the family and my better half that for once was home celebrating Christmas and not being offshore.
New Renpy version
I have taken a few days to test and adjust Leap of Faith to the new Renpy v7.4.0 version. There is a bit more scripting in LoF than just dialogue and renders, but it is working 100% now. I still have problems with animations lagging in the new Renpy version, and that is a really big issue when I do 60fps animations, but get an awful 4fps in game. I'll have a look at it later on when it's getting closer to release and see if I'll release the next chapter with the current Renpy v7.3.5 or move on to 7.4.0.
Chapter 5 progress
The prologue is finished and I've started the intro-stories. It's a bit of work with them, seeing the amount of endings you had in chapter 4, but I'm progressing nicely. I've had to focus a bit on animations, so now I'm at 117 static renders and 1,135 animated frames. I've also found some magnificent music that I'm really happy with.
New hardware
Yes! Finally I can move on to some more decent hardware then my 2012, $500 entry level gaming pc. It'll still be 2 more months until I can upgrade my 2060 GPU to the 3090, meaning the new hardware won't be faster for rendering, but posing will for me be a much more enjoyable experience, where I won't have to keep doing renders without previews.
It should arrive later on today, and my job for the weekend is to build and prepare it for rendering. Should be a fun weekend. :)

Magnificent is a good way to describe your selection of music for your game. I'm carrying like 30 tracks from it right now in my cel as my personal daily playlist. Oh! And Chris is right about Michael Shynes, btw 😉.

Keep up the great work, but don't forget to take a breather now and then. Also I hope we get more bunny slipper dancing in future updates, lol :P
