One thing I'm going to start doing is expanding on the story arcs that already exist in the game, especially in the Harshville area. That way you won't feel the need to get into Pleasantview to survive right away, and you'll be able to do a more submissive playstyle while remaining free. Pleasantview itself will also be balanced a bit (looking at you, Gilded Pine) so that it's not such an OP location.
