Commission: "It Began One Day At Target"
🕑 Added 2024-04-12 21:58:43 +0000 UTCOh man, sometimes you get a prompt and the fun is figuring out what the heck to do with it, and sometimes the fun is from what you immediately know has to happen. We have here the latter. The request for this story was to do a cross-pollination of The RA and The Creep by introducing two specific characters: Janis, the RA of Higgins 4, and Naomi ex-girlfriend to Martin Manning.
I don't know how hot this is, though there's some heat, but... fuck. If you enjoy laughing about how horrible people can be, do I have the story for you. The two characters' journeys run mostly parallel, starting with a chance meeting and ending with another. The effect is largely to insert Naomi into the path of the Spencer Effect, and Janis into the Martin Manning's wellness clinic. This is all non-canonical of course, but fits in nicely with existing narrative. It runs concurrently with the events of The RA series, and shortly after that of Creeps.
I love writing these characters. They're both so unrepentantly horrible, basically the result of taking someone with a 12 in Charisma and a 9 in Intelligence (Naomi) and someone with that same 12 in Charisma and a 9 in Wisdom (Janis), and watching them swagger about like they're packing 17s in both.
And did I mention, we get more Price? BECAUSE WE GET MORE PRICE. (Which is to say, any Price.)
There's an illustrated and not regular version (illustrated noted in the titles). I didn't attach all the pics separately this time; if you feel that's a bad decision, let me know. Just trying to declutter, not deprive anybody of anything. The pics are a little less consistent than I like (especially Janis - please don't trouble yourself over the miraculous odd shifting therapy couch), but they're fun, if that's the kind of thing you find fun.

Amazing, amazing stuff. Line of the story for me was probably "You know how I hate jokes, and joking", but there's no shortage of hilarious asides, wacky misunderstandings, and sneaky in-jokes. Naomi is the perfect example of being your own worst enemy, and Janis could not be a bigger target for a hypnofetishist, so this story of rampant debasement and completely ignored comeuppance was an absolute hoot to read. Also, pretty goddamn hot? The Janis side of things, mostly, since the Creep aspect lends itself to easier mental reconstruction and enslavement. The RA... it's more humane, and a little bit more about personal change in the light of overwhelming sexual addiction, so it stands to reason that Naomi's journey would be a little more about continuously highlighting how valueless she is in a story of actualization and understanding, with her being the endless, jiggly butt of the joke. This was excellent, and I'm glad I asked for it. Thanks so much!
