I continue to miss Rachel herself, but we get Joanna back into things in this installment, and ready ourselves to recover our titular tits. I may have gotten carried away on this one. First draft was a paltry 8.7k words, and editing ballooned it up to 12. Yeesh. Brief, I am not.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy! I don't know if the next installment will be the final one of this RLP arc or if it'll need another after, but we're getting there. We gots to get our Rachel back! More to come.

Besides the singular lack of verisimilitude, this was a great chapter. I laughed hard at the ways Knox's contrarian streak was so pronounced and predictable that he couldn't help but go against every piece of Kammie's advice, yet it all worked out just the same. Knox's life is a series of cascading errors that somehow have built him a better life, so why not this one, too? And it's all in service of a very hot brainwashing sequence -slash- healthy view of relationships. People don't always want or need one thing, which Joanna's bifurcated allegiances make clear. A version of this story where Knox is a little nicer and Joanna is a little nicer would've felt like a betrayal, so I'm grateful we got this weird story about Knox missing his valued possession and Joanna choosing a version of emotional and physical fulfillment that also renders her enslaved. Good stuff!

I've been onboard with the way this series has grown to incorporate extra dimensions, shapeshifters, and crossovers with other Ice Bear stories. But I draw the *line* at "a mall with people in it". Too unbelievable! Suspension of disbelief RUINED.
