Well, I suppose this could’ve been much worse but of course, obviously, this is still not a good outcome. It kind of shocks me the way the Mountie sort of did a 180 and changed his attitude. But I still don’t trust him, considering that’s he’s now made himself Lincoln and Lynn’s personal escort out of Canada. I did, however, think it was sweet for Lynn to come to Lincoln’s defense, just like I knew she would. It was a brief, hilarious moment to see her and the moose stare each other down like that. Because there’s no doubt in my mind that if the Mountie hadn’t changed his tune, Lynn would’ve gone full Darren McCarty and wiped the ice with both the Mountie and his moose. Now, as much as I would’ve liked to have seen that, I do think it would be in Lincoln and Lynn’s best interest right now for them not to do anything rash at this point that would give the Mountie reason to keep them here longer than they intended. Let’s not let the Mountie know that he’s inadvertently stumbled onto something worse than syrup being denied. And - surprise, surprise - incest is illegal in Canada and anyone who partakes in the act is guilty of an indictable offense and imprisonment for no more than a period of 14 years. Also, if either party is under 16, it’s a minimum of 5 years. And since Lincoln is 15, and Lynn is 17, they unfortunately fit those criteria on both ends of the spectrum. Perhaps the one slightly good thing out of all this, however, is that the Mountie doesn’t recognize Lynn and referred to her as Lincoln’s boyfriend. And in a perfect world, maybe that could’ve been the one saving grace Lincoln and Lynn might’ve used to their advantage when they are forced to explain their “shameless behavior” to Lynn Sr. and Rita. But unfortunately, I’m sure the Mountie will paint a detailed picture, and it won’t be hard for the parents to put two and two together afterward. So, now the question becomes for Lincoln and Lynn - which is the lesser of two evils? They'll need to choose carefully . . .
