Notice that Yulanna hit the same leg twice as well. When hitomi went to balance on it, she couldn’t and fell down. That muscle is fatigued and bruised. Her corner is going to have a lot of work between rounds.
Man. We had a sparring session one time at Jeff Mullins karate and our teacher was from Okinawa. He was a guy used to knock down karate tournaments. So he didn’t really hold back when sparring. It was a lot of us higher belts. So we all felt safe to go a little harder than normal. Masaru (the instructor) blasted this guy in his thigh with a rear leg roundhouse and it sounded like a gunshot. The guy screamed and passed out. That’s when I learned the power of leg strikes.
