“Today we remember our victory over those that enslaved us, we remember the blood that had to be shed to free us! And yet that isn't what we celebrate on this day!”, Kinvara's clear voice echoed over the plaza before the Red Temple.
Hundreds of thousands of Volantis' inhabitants had tried to come and watch the ceremony that would signal the start of the Fire Festival, causing the streets to be packed full with a sea of people all over the First Daughter. They all wore white or light cream-coloured clothes as was the custom.
"Today we celebrate fire and life!", Kinvara announced with passion, "Today we celebrate our rebirth!"
“CYAA!”, as if waiting for those words, a giant flaming phoenix appeared in the sky above Volantis, crying out in agreement and joy.
A rain of golden flames washed over the First Daughter, as the people's cheers echoed all over the city in a deafening manner.
The golden fire banished sickness and exhaustion, as the Blessed City vibrated with life. Music could be heard everywhere as the people, young and old, danced on the streets of Volantis, lanterns and bonfires illuminating the night.
The phoenix had already vanished again, but it didn't matter to the inhabitants of the First Daughter, as they knew that he was watching over them and protecting them, even when they couldn't see him.
It was a night where the people celebrated and a joyful atmosphere had infected the whole city, and this didn't only happen in Volantis. The other Blessed Cities, Pheonix Bay and every other place with a High-Priest or Priestess were celebrating the Fire Festival, as it was the day that marked the First Daughter's revival as a true Free City under the rule of the Lord of Light.

Bell-like laughter rang in his ears, as Phenex followed behind Arianne, while she pulled him forward through the packed streets of Volantis, their hands holding onto each other tightly.
The innocent joy radiating from the Dornish Princess, as she breathed in the festive atmosphere and immersed herself in the rhythmic music that invited all those listening to dance, was infectious, and seeing her like this, Phenex nearly fell in love with the headstrong Princess all over again.
With bright blazing eyes, he followed Arianne until they came to a big plaza, which was less crowded than the one before the Red Temple, though there were still thousands upon thousands of people around.

Her ebony locks were styled in a bun with only two strands of hair framing her beautiful face and the silhouette of a phoenix was painted on her cheek with red paint, similar to many others on this day.
Locking gazes with him, dark chocolate met fiery violet, as Arianne beckoned him with her hand, urging him to join her, to dance with her.
Hesitating for only a moment, Phenex' eyes took on a fiery hue, as he let the music dictate his movements, giving himself over to the rhythm, while his black locks whipped around his face.
Seeing this, Arianne's eyes practically gleamed with joy and excitement, as she had been unsure if Phenex would let himself go and share this with her.
As a Princess of Dorne she may have had a lot of privileges, but taking part in this festival like a common girl was still something incredibly special for her and the fact that the man she had chosen and loved was here with her, made it all the more extraordinary an experience.
Phenex was admittedly not a practiced dancer, but as an immortal phoenix, such things didn't really matter. He had the experience and knowledge of all his predecessors, so channeling this inherited wisdom and knowledge, there was basically nothing that he couldn't do.
As they danced together, the atmosphere between the two of them slowly got more intense and their gazes more heated.
Slowly passion and desire awakened in Phenex, as his senses captured every rhythmic motion of the Dornish Princess, her performance being pure sensuality in his eyes.
Their bodies were tightly pressed together, as they moved and spun to the music, while sweat glistened on their skin.

The music all over Volantis still rang in their ears, but now he didn't have to hold back his desire for Arianne, as he pressed her against the stone column near the doors with his own form.
His lips drew a path from her lips over her jaws and down her neck, where he sucked and licked at her caramel skin. Drawing pants and moans from the young Princess, while her nails dug into the skin of his neck and back, as she tried to draw him in even closer.
Taking hold of the fabric of her dress, after his hands had moved from Arianne's sides up and to her breasts, softly kneading her mounds. Phenex didn't hesitate as he ripped the thin silk from her body, revealing the tender caramel flesh beneath.
