Annie

they do have a kids reaction posted from a while ago. :) But I agree. would love for them to finish the discography

Seanthebomb

any more plans for the rest of mac's discography? Would be awesome to see reactions to Macadelic, KIDS, Best Day Ever.

BrownieTroop59

Jon Scanlon

Go GREEEN baby!! 🌱

AndyAtHome

Funny Papers fucking ruined me. What a great album.

Pierce M

please do MACADELIC

Eric

Love the video fellas. Mac’s brother’s name is Miller. He’s done a lot of artwork for Mac in the past, and other artists as well. I’m pretty sure he did the original artwork for Faces. Friendly Hallucinations is my favorite song off the album, one of my favorites of his in general.

Seth Lawrence

Loved the video, got the white edition of the vinyl and so stoked about it! Please have Kevin listen to Solace by Earl Sweatshirt

Jesus Flores

First off, this album was amazing. Second, EUSEXUA!

Finn Bilham

My Method Actor - Nilufer Yanya

Alex

Dylan Mark

Jayden

I'll be visiting Vancouver for the first time with my mom this weekend and hearing you guys talk about the weather is not very encouraging😭 nevertheless I'm excited, loved the video Mac means so much to me and I loved experiencing this album for the first time with you guys.

Ben Palmer

🔥🔥🔥

gabriela

can yall please please PLEASE react to fka twig’s new album eusexua 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Luis

High asf and 28 min in and already feel like this is my favourite video yet, especially cause i waited with my first listen for this video

Jackson

Less greens more beef Kevin !

Michael Bear

Nothing makes me happier than seeing Connor lean over to turn up the music. Manakins and Do You Have a Destination are definitely my favourite tracks so far <3

Dave Ko

Definitely love Funny Papers and Do You Have a Destination, but boy did that Dissect Podcast make me appreciate the whole record from start to finish.

Dave Ko

That episode was incredible.

Andrew Spain

I love seeing another MAC reaction and a new release by him he’s been one of my favorites for a long time. Also do you guys plan on doing a reaction to dtmf by bad bunny? If not I would highly recommend even if you know no Spanish at all. Much love

TTT

thx -k

Monica 🌔

Amazing reaction as always! I am coming as an ambassador of your Latino fan base— PLEASE react to bad bunny’s DTMF!! You guys will absolutely love the rhythms and instrumentation. His most organic and ancestral music yet. PLEASE I BEG 🥹🥹🥹

ange amedeo

Thank you guys for the reaction! Love this album. I highly recommend listening to the album "Z" by SZA. Mac was one of the producers on that album. It was released around the same time in 2014 , when ballonersim was created. It's such a beautiful album and one of SZA's most underrated.

Carson

1:14 ish-His brothers name was Miller and hes an artist, he posts his drawings and things on his instagram!

krashindigo

Everything silent but the music!!

Carson

My car just broke down on the Freeway waiting on a tow truck-perfect vibe for the wait 😂🙏🏼

chantelle

Been playing this constantly. First listening experience was one of the best experience I’ve had with an album. The world disappeared and it was just Mac and me. He had me smiling one minute and crying my eyes out the next (funny papers and ricks piano in particular). It still hurts but I’m so grateful we were blessed with another project. I hope somehow he can see the profound effect he’s had on so many people. Thank you for the gift you gave to the world, Mac. You’ll live on eternally through your music💙

k

I saw a comment saying yall should check out Kush and OJ.. I would die for that

Tyler

Stoned is amazing. Fuck. Also just listened with headphones for the first time. Getting the panning on a new song is awesome to experience at the same time. Cheers

Megan Nilssen

Kevin and Conner, love you guys! You should listen to the Dissect Podcast’s Balloonerism analysis if you want a deeper look into some themes and concepts. Thanks for always keeping it real!

Lev

Subscribed to your Patreon for the first time so I could see this video. I cried at work when I listened to this album last week. Mac was truly special, and it's awesome to see you guys love him so much.

Alvin

Can u react to some rap songs by earl sweatshirt? You’re dad is a huge fan of Tyler and mf doom so it would be great to see what he thinks about earl. Thx🫶🏼

Jessie Jaramillo

Kevin I’m also doing dry January hoping to push into February. I’m struggling, but we got this! 😅

Jessie Jaramillo

Listening to this with you boys is greatness. I heard the album on my own, but it’s something about you guys breaking it down that is just beauty. The last song I didn’t think so deeply into until your guys comments. Now it sounds like he’s drifting into the ocean and drowned and his body back to shore cause the kids sound more frantic and possibly calling 911. Just a thought. But truly amazing you boys, & Malcolm 🥹❤️‍🩹

Tyler Jones

I just joined for this reaction and wanted to say thanks for keeping this patreon tier price low. It sucks to click on someones patreon to watch a reaction and see they charge $10 or $12 when I just want to see one video.

Rene

Just joined for this, watched the circles video from you guys so many times, just love to see your dad get a Mac fan… thx guys ❤️

Nabieu Lansana

Tomorrow will never know has got to be one of the darkest songs ever made - it’s Mac telegraphing his own death. The whole song is him “drowning” in a drug overdose simultaneously listening to the past (children playing), present (phone ringing in the distance), and future (the constant “coo-coo-coo” motif I feel represents death, like a raven perching by the window waiting for his soul’s ascension). Mac knew how he was going to die and gave us a glimpse into what would go through his head when the time came. Haunting.

Nathan Ivor Barlow

Man I hit play and had a 2 mile hill to cycle down. Was fllyyyying at full speed with my noise cancelling headphones on while the first 3-4 tracks played, what a start to the day

Dan

Pure Mac such a beautiful album. Yall should check out kush and orange juice by wiz

Synthany Woodley

Wow. I found you guys through a Mac reaction and this is so special. I love your reaction to this incredible piece, it has truly made me so emotional. This vulnerability and creativity is unmatched 💙 To end the project with the never ending phone ringing knowing Mac won’t ever be able to pick up again.. the metaphors are endless

Wilson Somerville

Do you think you'll give the new FKA Twigs album when it drops later this week? The singles released so far have been great!

Ross Kimbirl

Do you guys ski or board at all? Beautiful album, it was worth waiting for the final version even after hearing most of the leaks. Cheers guys ❤️

johnnnyy

I remember listening to a leak of this album maybe two years ago and the only song I remember from that leak was Funny Papers, that song floored me and has stuck with me since then, one of Mac's best. What a special experience to listen to this album with u guys, love all of ur videos but the Mac ones r extra special 💚

Eugene Yuan

My friend used to be suicidal and would leave me random messages and would not pick up the phone after. I know that now she is better and healthier I won’t have to ever worry about it again, but I used to hear the same phone ring over and over again just to hear the automated voicemail message. The last song hurt me so bad thinking of mac’s friends calling him and never hearing him pick up again.

Charlie Cantrell

Hear me out, you and your pops gets stoned and react to a Wiz Khalifa project!

Micmic

Also RIP mac. This was beautiful art

Micmic

The conversation you guys are having at the 52 minute is something I think about a lot. Time actually does speed up as we age because of the way we measure time. 1 year when you are 8 years old is 1/8 of your entire lived experience. It feels like it takes forever for your birthday to come back around. At 40, a year is only 1/40th of your life. Quite literally represents a much smaller amount of time based on your lived experience. Exactly why a year feels like it flies by in your 40s compared to your teens. Time isn't actually moving faster, but the way we measure time stays static while our perspective dynamically changes. *If you haven't seen Interstellar, definitely worth a watch.

Andy Rodriguez

please react to the balloonerism short film 🙏🏽

Nofyn

You should do the delusional Thomas side project! It's so fckin freaky

Dion Byrne

Is there something wrong with you? I've literally met Mac and I think his family seems great and supportive. Look at his subreddit. It's the common consensus that the book was quite poor and that the book that the family didn't want released was better. Very very weird comment from you

skullymoon

not to mention the INSANE amount of spelling and grammatical errors. dude saw that a rapper died and threw together a shitty book and morons ate it up

skullymoon

just say you don’t respect Mac or his family

skullymoon

That’s fine - you can think Most Dope is a better book and I can think you’re a piece of shit for supporting a dude who never met Mac, capitalized on his death, and compiled TMZ articles and other speculative media to put together a book that he was asked to not release by the subject’s family. I’d implore real fans of Mac to not read Most Dope.

Tazkeys

Its the better book and its the one that has the most insight to his life. To each their own but i read both and most dope was by far a better book

Dante Grubb

tim hortans worker here, I was moved to a new location and they actually got rid of the steeped tea altogether, now it's just the bags!

Murray Thompson

Great as always but we need Sam Fenders Hypersonic Missiles before the new album

Lorenzo Freguia

Joined Patreon just for this video. My favorite reaction ever. This is hard man, but a celebration of my favorite musician ever

Ryan Rick

This was tough. The last things he’s saying on Rick’s Piano are “What does death feel like?” and “Why does death steal life?” followed immediately by a song that feels like someone’s inner monologue as they’re dying and fading away from the world around them. But at the same time, “the best is yet to come” felt so hopeful and maybe he was talking to himself there. Idk, I am in love with this album and it hurts so much.

George

Such a beautiful fucking album. Sobbed so much along the way. His sound and lyrics are timeless. You guys have such a cool way of interpreting the music and pointing out things I wouldn’t notice. Liked how you compared it to supertramp towards the end as well, they were masters of ambience and storytelling through just sounds, not even words.

Awgie ٩( 'ω' )و

I need one of Conner’s New Year’s resolutions to have more sphincters in his life

Seneca White

Rick's piano is one of the hardest song I've ever had to sit through

skullymoon

his portfolio shows art from The Divine Feminine, GO:OD AM, Run on Sentences, and I believe some others. He also did some that aren't featured on his site. I don't think he's done a majority of his cover art, but more than just Faces! https://millermccormick.com/

skullymoon

"The Book of Mac" is the one that's endorsed and supported by his family so in my opinion that's the only one you should purchase/read. The other book, by Paul Cantor (I believe that's his name?), has been denounced by Mac's friends and family. I've seen people say they prefer the latter, but I'm not supporting the author who released it against their wishes. Also, TBOM actually has interviews and whatnot, whereas the other book is just put together using publicly available information and speculates a lot.

Villains Burst

I believe Dylan Reynolds is one of macs good friends from when they were little kids and Miller macs brother he did a bunch of artwork and stuff for the deluxe vinyl and merch and other stuff for the album roll out. I love how everyone worked so hard for this release. Also love u guys and this reaction! lastly Happy Birthday Mac!

Villains Burst

final track to me feels very haunting because now that Mac is gone he can't answer the phone.

Luke

🎈🎈

Luke

I joined today for balloonerism haha

LiL_Sh!t

Finally shilled out for this, Balloonerism to me is Mac's best project, and in turn, is my personal favorite album of all time, not to the actual reactions yet but can't wait to see them.

Anthony Suter

Joined Patreon just to watch your reactions. Love the channel. I hope my son and I get to have these kind of discussions about music when he grows up!

Steve Jones

Paid just to watch this. Love all your Mac reactions and had to watch the uncut version. Glad I did. You guys should check out run on sentences too I think your dad would love it

otinauj

i miss mac miller everyday, 💙

MartyMan

This was really awesome. Hope you know there's a short film too!

Claudiu Ralea

👏👏👏 what an experience!! Been waiting for this all day yesterday 🤣

Austin

You guys need to watch the animation/visualizer they released on prime video for Balloonerism.

Devin Miles

Absolutely love the duality of you two. Kevin is always spot on picking up on instrumentation and Conner always picks on my my favorite lyrics and melodies. My favorite people to listen with!

Stove

The tone of the piano on Rick's Piano gives me huge How I Made My Millions vibes by Radiohead.

Trey Buckner

Update: just went out and bought the vinyl

Donald

If you liked the last song you should listen to his instrumental album called run-on sentences vol 1

Dion Byrne

The Book of Mac is the one the family approved and is the much worse book sadly.

Trey Buckner

Not that I didn’t like this the first time I listened to this yesterday but you guys always bring a new and different perspective of the music that you listen to and it always makes me listen deeper and I end up enjoying it more listening to it with you guys. Really feels like having friends over and taking in a musical experience together! Sorry for the long comment. Not sure which songs are my fav yet but I’m glad I didn’t listen to 5 dollar pony rides when it came out but in the context of the record, I can see why it was the “single” though. Much love!

Dion Byrne

The story about the album being shelved by the label isn't true. He didn't even have a label when he recorded this or Faces. He was constantly working on loads of projects at once, probably just didn't feel like he wanted to release it. I'm sure close friends like Q or his brother were told what he wanted to do with certain songs or projects if he died.

Javier

Was looking forward to this, was looking forward to you guys listening to funny papers. I just felt good listening to this man, shout out to yall

Dion Byrne

Wasn't it just Faces?

Trevor

So far great but side note, I noticed how much Kevin blinks when he is focused and it’s so funny to me

Lucas Butler

I really don’t think I’ve sobbed more to an album than I have the past two days.

JimFanAccount

I had never heard the leaks, and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to listen to this after having one of the worst weeks I've had in a long while. This was such an incredible listen but oh my god it killed me. Especially Funny Papers.

Michael Young

I’m watching you guys talk about how time moves fast when you get older and wondering why that is, and it reminded me of this quote about that from Karl Ove that I’ve thought about ever since I read it “It was not until I myself reached the same age that I understood there was indeed a price to pay for this. As your perspective of the world increases not only is the pain it inflicts on you less but also its meaning. Understanding the world requires you to take a certain distance from it. Things that are too small to see with the naked eye, such as molecules and atoms, we magnify. Things that are too large, such as cloud formations, river deltas, constellations, we reduce. At length we bring it within the scope of our senses and we stabilize it with fixer. When it has been fixed we call it knowledge. Throughout our childhood and teenage years, we strive to attain the correct distance to objects and phenomena. We read, we learn, we experience, we make adjustments. Then one day we reach the point where all the necessary distances have been set, all the necessary systems have been put in place. That is when time begins to pick up speed. It no longer meets any obstacles, everything is set, time races through our lives, the days pass by in a flash and before we know what is happening we are forty, fifty, sixty ... Meaning requires content, content requires time, time requires resistance. Knowledge is distance, knowledge is stasis and the enemy of meaning.”

Sean Quinn

The last track is so haunting. Your discussion about floating away from the children sounds is such an interesting illustration of the song. It’s very sad hearing the phone ring and go to voicemail during the song, then to just continuously ring throughout the track. Such a great experiment from Mac and it’s unbelievable he made music like this at 21

jgakpp

Thank you for letting me enjoy this first listen with you guys. I really appreciate it :)

Tazkeys

The ending is so sad. The phone ringing and ringing to me symbolizes him being dead and overdosed and someone trying to get a hold of him and nobody is answering

Anthony melito

Sat on the floor in silence for about 10 minutes after listening to the album on release night. What a beautiful album

Parsa Nejad

The drop on Excelsior gives me goosebumps every time

Jonas_trnw

Idk why exactly but Excelsior makes me cry every time I listen to it

Revlo

I dont think Mac's brother does music, but he has made a good majority of mac's cover art

c00mwall

this was a beautifully tragic album and i’m glad they’ve finally officially released it. They have been treating his legacy with the utmost respect and love

Megan Shelton

Your energy for this album is infectious! So happy to go through this one with you guys. Thank you Mac ♥️

Lynn

Couldn’t wait to watch this video today! Feels special listening to new Mac with you guys. Amazing how Mac can make such a timeless album at such a young age. I agree with Connor how this project was such a pleasant surprise and exceeded expectations. 💙☁️

Kacey Romero

Your explanation to Rick Ruben’s piano makes so much sense to what my perception to it as well. It almost sounds like an award speech that he didn’t prepare for and he’s just sending a message to us the fans of a Optimistic view of what the future holds “the best is yet to come”

Matt Sharp

You would both enjoy the Vsauce video “Illusions of Time”. It explores many of the different ways we conceptualise and perceive time. A popular thought is that when you are 10 years old, one year is 1/10th of your entire lived experience so far, but if you’re 40, one year is a much smaller slice of the pie by comparison and feels shorter. There’s a bunch of other weird thought experiments in there too that you’d really dig

Benjamin Johnson

Mac’s brother’s name is Miller, literally just shedding tears over yonder in Philly 😭

Paul Gonzales

I agree with yall where this album almost sounds like the direction Mac may have gone. Like this sounds like it could be a swimming/circles successor. Like he would have just mastered the sound. Definitely ahead of his time.

Sebastian Leal

I cried real tears to this album last night. Glad I get to experience it again with y’all

TTT

Lmao - K

Thomas Mrozek

Happy you guys took your time with this one 😁 RIP Mac and enjoy the day

Benjamin Johnson

Funny Papers: “Didn’t think anybody died on a Friday” — Mac Passed on a Friday.. grateful to be able to share mutual feelings with yinz

yahire

chills to every song. cried to 5 dollar pony rides. the ability of a sad person still being able to ride a happy song. i miss mac

sam

Love this album! Mac has two beat tapes, run on sentences vol 1&2, which were released on SoundCloud. Worth checking out, they share similar production from Mac, very psychedelic

Holden Watkins

Hearing your dad piss really makes my day everytime i hear it, he’s a forceful pisser

Lucas

Friendly Hallucinations, Stoned, Funny Papers, and Rick's Piano were my favs!

Christian Jauregui

so fire

Holden Watkins

Hearing Mac laugh on excelsior really broke me, he was really a light in this world.

Succumiya

Favorite tracks were 5 Dollar Pony Rides, Funny Papers, & Rick’s Piano!

Daniel Campos

Seeing y'alls reactions to this, happy, smiling, banging your feet, made my day! This was exactly how I felt when I discorvered this album in 2018, the comments on reddit back in the day said this was a mixtape they would never release because it was so raw, I knew I had to get the leaks and it never left me, this album will forever have a special place in my heart, been through so much with it just like faces, and getting a official release while watching y'all just warms my heart, finally more people can listen to this masterpiece of a record!

PeiYing Cheung

This was made so quickly!! Was excited for this album and to watch your reaction. I'm so happy. Thank you.

Nino Marino

"I know we're kinda rambling on, but who cares it's a Mac video" absolutely! If any video deserved a little rambling it's this one

Fidelí

Gonna def tune into this tomorrow on my work commute! Love you guys can’t wait

Marlo Soto

Yaaaay!!!

Isaiah

tomorrow will never know ends in the phone ringing and was supposed to transition into Godspeed from good:am where macs brother leaves a voicemail that was the theory when it first leaked at least

Matt l

My favorite track is "do you have a destination". It really feels like its straight off of a delusional thomas ep and that's my favorite Mac era! Thanks for posting this so soon ❤️ hope you're both taking care of yourselves!

Aidan Lauzier

Also please make a tea brand, I would buy🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Cam
