Post "Dad Reacts to Kendrick Lamar - GNX" by "turningthetables"

purplelinks

starting my rewatch rn , i love u guys , peace from Vienna !

Alistair

Did jack antonoff do anything on this album??

PastorAric

Ive been holding off listening to the album, figured this was the best way.😤

Boone_girl

I love y’all’s dynamic! Your Dad reminds me a lot of my ex’s bf’s father who I’ll always love as my own father. ❤️

Colin Christensen

For the song Gloria, I’ve thought it’s Kendrick talking about trying to find love/balance his love between women and his music. Specifically the lines “My Women and my right hand, my saint and my sin. Ain’t no b* like my b* cuz that b* been my pen”

Jordan Bailey

Connor, if you're willing to abandon the Dodgers; I will take you and Kevin to a Mariner's game!

Marcos Bueno

Such a great reaction video guys! Happy Holidays from Chicago! He should perform Fight the Feeling with him and Mac. Lol. But seriously, Lil Wayne coming out and him and weezy play Mona Lisa would be cool. Continue to put out these videos!

xero 😵‍💫

im late but you guys should check out an ab-soul, isaiah rashad, or jay rock record ! they’re definitely worthy of receiving their flowers in heart pt. 6 including the other tde artists. sza features are also always heavenly imo, i loved that she was on luther and gloria bc she fits so perfectly with the two tracks. reincarnated was my fav track n i LOOOOOVE jack’s production on this album. all around great album tbh

Michael Wade

Your dad had both artists on reincarnated, and you rushed him. So frustrating.

Hmm idk

It wasn‘t supposed to be mean. I just think it funny how often he himself meantions how great he is. But i get it. There is soo much other great music to react to

Salvador Ramirez

bro just ask politely, look let me show you, hey guys could you please react to westside gunns new album its really cool :)

Hmm idk

Conner you been praising Nas‘s new records and I completely agree. He dropes the best new music when it comes to old school artists imo. But where are the reactions to it?? 😅

Xavier Castle

Son reacts would go crazy as a Christmas video

Datreion Thompson

Love from LA

Datreion Thompson

You guys should do a twist where Conor reacts to an album you enjoyed from when you were younger.

Brent Erickson

I can't believe they missed that. All the little hints in it are amazing. Great song!

James Edwards

Soundwave and Antonoff produced every song together. It's not JUST Jack - plus other producers are sprinkled throughout. Incredible production regardless!

Jessie Jaramillo

i’m trying not to be offended that you guy don’t know the debbie deb song, i love that song!! 😂 so hyped kendrick sampled it!

Reyce G

I'm not going to lie. I forget that I have this Patreon, but every time I get an email or see the drop video on YouTube, it clicks with me that I have a membership, and I never regret it. Yall are doing great. I've been subscribed for a while, but I just wanted to say i always look forward to your videos not just for the reactions but to see you and your dad bond over something is just a nice feeling. We all need a Kevin in our Lives!!!

Andrew Lodge

Terrance Martin was playing saxophone on alright. Terrance Martin is on this album as well as in a group with Kamasi Washington & 9th Wonder called The Dinner Party

Andrew Lodge

the album was executive produced by red hearse, which is a production duo of sounwave (Kendrick's long time producer) and antonoff. The vocalist, Sam Dew, has also been working on a lot of kendrick stuff from his recent output

TTT

We just run it from computer to our Yamaha mixer - Kev

Quentin Walker

Hey now say now

Alexandre Martins

do you guys mix your videos in some specific way or something? i often feel like the sound quality i get from the music in ur videos is better than if i'm just listening to music on my own, i need ur equalizer secrets or whatever ur doing to make it sound so good

Deen Tristan

We need a reaction to NxWorries new album! (Anderson Paak's project with record producer Knxwledge)

Kwan wallace

its wild to see people not knowin Nas one Mic

Attallah

You giving jack wayyyyy too much credit, loads of producers on this project and Kendrick #1 producer sounwave did most of it .

Binod Dayal

need some more thugger reactions

Gregory Elion

Wacced out murals invokes a feeling of 80-90s black cinema movies like boys in the hood, menace to society. That’s why he has the gnx. I think there was one in boys in one of those movies.

Gael

You guys should review macadelic by mac miller, im dying to see Kevin react to the kendrick feature :)

John Keane

you guys should listen to luv 4 rent by smino or fuck your expectations pts 1 + 2 by ag club

karimbrownn

If you do 2pac please do Me Against The World. One of the best albums ever and you'll understand just why he's so loved by Kendrick

Sultan Abul

What a treat, top album 😍! Kendrick is out of this world and so are you guys ! 😄👍

JayAllDay

1:27:00 cherry bomb album cover 🤣🤣

Pascal Ziehe

When ,,how Im feeling now“?

JayAllDay

It’s bound to happen sometime - a live first reaction is a vulnerable thing to share with the world. If it were me, I’m sure I’d make embarrassing mistakes 😂

Mas Chingona

Yessss

unluckychloe

not you guys fully missing the concept of gloria lol still great reaction tho to an awesome album

Marco

Reincarnation is Made N*ggaz by 2pac

Marco

That and “staring through my rearview” by 2Pac

Andy O'Toole

you guys could do acoustic covers in a studio vlog and i would love to see kevin try to produce a song and take us through his thought process in the studio because he always talks about writing music. would be pretty neat to watch, great episode lads <3

Dave Ko

You guys gotta come to Seattle for the Blue Jays series in the summer. It's so fun, Canadians take over downtown.

vincent Campana

Man at the garden gives me nas one mic vibes

Bryce Nollkamper

Hey kev do you mind checking your messages. I had a question and needed some help

Eric Leavitt

LMAO holy shit thats it

Eric Leavitt

The Sample from Squabble up, you most likely heard it from BabyTron, Im almost 100% sure he sampled it in the passed.

Amanda Gerami

Guys, the mustard bottle in the background 😎

Pablo

The Spanish singer throughout the album performed at game 2 of the World Series. Kendrick was in attendance for the game and heard her voice, loved it and invited her to be on the album. She expressed how she was nervous and very grateful to work with him

Omar

i seriously thought the mustard bottle was a pikachu until they brought it up

Bryan Krocker

Overly dedicated- 8/10 Section 80 -9/10 GKMC- 10/10 DAMN 8.5/10 MRMORALE 9.5/10 GNX 9/10 UU -7/10 TPAB 8/10

Devon Ackerson

Mustarrrrrrrrrrrrd. Nah fr I was dying to hear your reaction to Gloria.

Diego Garcia

When I hear music by Debbie debb was in zombies in space land, cod infinite warfare zombies and that’s why i immediately recognized the sample for squabble up lmao

Bavly eskander

Reincarnated is sampling a Tupac song from a movie soundtrack he did

SemonDemon

Subscribed 3 times. When MMATBS dropped, the beef, and this ;)

marina

another one (two) lost to the dodgers🤧

gk2cray_cray

Sounwave also was the main producer on the whole album, don’t forget to give him his flowers 🙏🏿

alexgeetee

the energy coming into reincarnated is so accurate. it’s the highlight of a fantastic album

Awgie ٩( 'ω' )و

MUSSSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD

Kenny Fowler

who is better?

Victor Chavez

there's better artists out there that they havent reacted to. he's pretty corny

Joonas Puuppo

I'm aware that they covered the album but the performances are unique in that they combine parts of several untitled unmastered tracks and even contain some stuff that isn't on the album at all. On top of that the performances are in my opinion WAY better than the album tracks and really show how good Kendrick is as a performer.

Andrew Lodge

The untitled tracks ended up on uu which they covered

Kenny Fowler

How so?

Adrian Navarro

he’s mid af

sebastian

shoutout baseball

Emre Berkay

You missed the meaning of the song "gloria". He doesn't mean that his wife is his pen. The whole song seems like it's a love song to his wife, but actually he is talking about his relationship with his music, lyrics etc. And at the end he reveals it by saying "that bitch been my pen."

the tizz3uzez

Great reaction, just sad that reincarnated didn't blow kevs dick off

Kenny Fowler

Would love to see you guys react to Hopsin. I'm flabbergasted by the lack of recognition he gets. Specifically on his No Shame record. There is just so much raw emotion in his voice on some tracks where he you can really relate to him. Also the experimental production is unique and it just works so good. Honestly one of my favourite albums of all time, you guys won't regret listening to it!

Graham Gibson

Sounwave produced this album before jack btw. Gotta shout him out hes the mastermind behind kendrick's sound!!!

Joonas Puuppo

Since you mentioned the idea of doing the first three parts of the Heart series in a future video, might I suggest covering some more non-album Kendrick stuff in the same video? Specifically, there are a couple of "untitled" performances Kendrick did on Late Night shows with a band that are amazing. Also the Black Friday collaboration with J Cole comes to mind.

George Greene

Really felt the Tyler influence on Hey Now in terms of his flow. I feel like new Kendrick and Tyler’s classic style of odd flows would mesh super well together. Both super inventive rappers. (p.s. noticed the wolf vinyl in the back, it’s time)

Sky

I'm less familiar with his work than I am LV's, but perhaps I need to rectify that!

purplelinks

@ kevin yes its a old slooppy car its a GNX thats what the beat supposed to give u , back then it was fire now u all addicted to the lambos and porschs'

Jay Kizzy

Genius song concept

Jay Kizzy

The outro song “Gloria” is actually a song about Kendrick Lamar personifying his pen, not his wife at all. Kendrick is comparing his pen and his writing throughout the years as if it’s his lover. For example he references how she “kills and heals” and how her favorite movie is “the notebook” and then near the end of the track Kendrick says “ain’t no bitch like my bitch cause that bitch been my pen” directly pointing out the personification throughout the song. Going through the song after knowing the concept makes the listen so much more special and beautiful.

Marcus Mccraney

thank u sm for putting this up😁

Succumiya

Best year for music 🔥🔥🔥

Bianey

Been asking for years at this point 😭😂🥹 I NEEEEEEEEED it

William Monprode

It was a perfect weekend to be visiting Toronto and eat New Ho King! Kevin - your no Xmas until after Remembrance Day is very similar to how many Americans don’t start Xmas until thanksgiving is over. Hoping you guys check out the new 070 Shake album! So so good.

Darcy S

great reaction!!!! I was stunned when the album dropped and listened immediately! Random question, would yall ever react to my chemical romance?

Ryan

fearless movement is too good

Cyrus Hiraldo

So Jon Denton said he believes the 3rd verse is Kendrick talking to himself but it is also the artists he embodies talking to himself and god talking to the devil about why he sent him to hell

Chris Soleberry

I think the overall tone of the track being “fuck everybody” combined with Wayne being specifically mentioned, is probably what made him feel like he was being dissed. More than just the specific Wayne line could be targeted at Wayne.

Chandler Martin

reincarnated is another track from Kendrick that will be studied for years. The dude is in his own league.

Noah Kahan

he’s talking about his pen game. it’s personification of his pen game.

vincent Campana

Between lenient and stern would be reasonable

Dane Gray

Football definitely a huge team sport.

Charlie Burdekin

I see that wolf vinyl in the back, would love a reaction one day!!

A B

Oh damn absolutely - I actually was reminded of this during the album, with Kendrick speaking to ‘god’ in reincarnated

Rango

1:27:00 onward is why I watch

Calum Birkin

Absolute masterpiece and the guy went to my school haha

Jonas_trnw

Great video! I feel like TV off was made for the superbowl, with the overall vibe and a handful of football references

Sarvenaz Manesh

same

tom gauth

wonderful reaction but one star player will NOT bring you to a championship in basketball, to win a championship or even make the finals you absolutely need to function as a whole team beyond the starting 5 even

purplelinks

good job

vincent Campana

So much energy

Alex Neilson

Id love to see Lausse The Cat's "The Girl, the Cat and the Tree" Amazing album I think you guys will like.

Cian Gilmour

great reaction again boys. Feel like kendrick is just enjoying music at this point. i was going for a run just before i saw the album released n decided to leave first listen until i step foot outside lol best run i’ve had in a while. im rlly enjoying this record! hope alls good with the both of yous, sending love/ support as always 🫶❤️

Aiden Cleary

Petition for you to react to all the rap battle parodies

Matt C

Go birds

Dawson Young

I’m so glad he showed you the Black Friday Kendrick/J Cole songs. That was a crazy day to be a fan of both. Have you heard Cartoons and Cereal? One of the best Kendrick songs.

Raphaël

same

Jim

My Kendrick album ranking: 1. TPAB 10/10 2. GNX 9.5/10 3. GKMC 9/10 4. DAMN 8/10 5. MMATBS 8/10 6. Section 80 (7.5/10) 7. UU 7/10

Trevor Edelstein

I subscribed just for this.

kai

path reacts is amazing as well

PettyCrockerXX(Annie)

you guys should check out jack antonoff/soundwav/sam dew's group called Red Hearse...they have 1 EP from 2019 and I hold onto those 6 tracks for my life. lol. I& I am not complaining that this is the closest I will get to a new project from them. they have worked together for a while...I absolutely love this project from Kendrick.

TTT

You like any James Ingram ? - K

TTT

Brilliant! I’ll be up all night going through these lyrics - K

Sam Panfil

I'm sorry that this holiday time isn't great for you guys and I feel for you. for me since college started and my sister has had 2 kids its become one of my favorite times of the year. I get to hang out with my family and especially with my niece and nephew. Christmas time has become some of the most special moments of the year with my family and it warms my hear immensely.

Cody Vaught

Hitta J3 is the very front guy on the To Pimp A Butterfly cover. One of Kendrick’s oldest friends. Part of of a group called Meet the Whoops

Sam Greenfield

Oh and Pls listen to Uzi

Sam Greenfield

The.... the the dodgers? As a Philadelphian I have many harsh words, MANY, but since this was a great album and I love the channel I'll act like it's not a problem.

youngexile

Last song is about his pen. His writing and how it's helped him through life. There's alot of Easter eggs in the lyrics. In the end he tells you it literally is his PEN

Billy Shuler

Basketball is the same way! You can't win with just one great player. Otherwise lebron would have 10 rings lol

Tommy McMaster

Reincarnated is a 2pac beat. “Made N****z” from the gang related soundtrack

Jordan Kapele

Correct me if I’m wrong but does Kendrick sample Father Time in Gloria? Or atleast an interpolation of it?

kelly

I actually think Gloria is metaphorical and he's talking about rap. Yes, it can double in meaning or interpretation, but I believe he's using it as a metaphor before anything else.

Evan Sinclair

I feel like Gloria is about both his pen and his wife like you could easily make it about both

Cody Vaught

Man at the garden is an interpolation of one mic by Nas

Casey Rogers

Gloria gets insane after the first listen. Knowing he’s talking to his pen the whole time makes you appreciate the delicacy of the writing even more. Dang 🤯 and I know similar concepts have been done but dot is elite 🔥🔥

Kevin’s Feet from twitter

The last song is a love letter to his pen not his wife

Ariana Heredia

This was so good. I would love for you guys to react to Rina Sawayama!!

Sky

Luther is genuinely one of the best melodic tracks I've ever heard from any rapper. You almost never hear LV sampled on a hiphop record and they used him (and Cheryl Lynn) absolutely perfectly. One of my favorite tracks of the year, but I'm also a huge Luther Vandross fan.

Logan Blake

last song is literally about his pen and his love for the craft, not his girl. read the lyrics again so many ways he ties in love bars about his pen.

Bryson

I cannot wait to watch this on my 8 hour drive at the end of the week.

Aiden Woodworth

Is that a bottle of mustard in the back 😂

Jake Grogins

Con adding the Supa Hot Fiya family guy video to his watch later was quietly my favorite 5 seconds of the video

Avery Thomas

pleaseeee can yall listen to Bird's Eye by Ravyn Lenae, she's amazing live and this album is one of the best r&b albums of the year

LeviRG

History

Michael Ali

A 2pac reaction would be excellent. Me Against The World. Also, "gloria" is about Kendrick's relationship with his pen.

lukas Clemmensen

You have to listen to Dave, a UK rapper on the level of j. Cole. Start with his album psychodrama. An incredible album, you wont regret it

Jake Grogins

enjoy! albums exceptional! You must do Friday Night Lights when it drops next week!!!!

TTT

aaaah thx. I am starting to dig deep into the lyrics right now -Kev

fightnerd

I don't really like baseball much, but my wife does. I have to say they implemented a pitch clock and some other rules that really made the standing around thing a lot better. I still much prefer basketball, but it has made it a lot better.

Jake Grogins

First verse on Reincarnated is referencing Jackie Wilson @Kev

George Greene

Reincarnated might just be in my top ten Kendrick. Just started the vid super excited to see what you think!

Landon

Man I hope you guys never stop reacting to music

Mitch Coob

SZA rly floated on those two tracks

Claudiu Ralea

Last song is not about his partner. 😉

otinauj

reincarnated is one of the greatest songs ever made

Cam

excited to watch this. need monster soon pleaseeee

Claudiu Ralea

The reaction to "reincarnated" is priceless 🤣

Logan Durant

Let’s gooo, been refreshing all day lol

Jake Grogins

understandable that you feel that way. it’s not for everyone. 100% a lot of standing around

vaygatti

I tried to enjoy it a while ago, but it’s just too much standing around man…maybe one day

John Coffey

I dont know why I haven’t listened to this album yet but I’ve just been putting it off. Can’t wait to listen to it for the first time with yall

Jake Grogins

really happy you’re enjoying baseball.

Darcy O'Shannessy

Could we get audio version posted too so that I can download it for my flight 🙏🙏

Jake Grogins

the World Series trophy is called the commissioner’s trophy i believe

Diego Pumarino

true! I forgot to put them in the list, I'm subbed to them too

fightnerd

They only made the GNX one year, 1987, the year Kendrick was born. They made just over 500 of them.

Connor Lindegreen

You really do have to do a 2pac record

Ben Trainor

Honestly, F11 are very very good. Very small channel (haven’t posted Kendrick yet) but as a whole I love them, very normal reactions. Only other people I have on patreon and they are great!

Diego Pumarino

Everyone's reacting to this one and this time I've skipped most, I'm getting bored of the over reactions to farm likes and view. You guys, fantano, bob, vibevilla and shawncee are the ones I keep watching.

Dave Mohan

THE WARM UP NEXT PLS

Miguel Joaquin

Christian Gabon

Still waiting on Dijon!

Briana Padilla

Wooo so excited ab this one

Stove

Jack Shaver

Here we go. Just listened to this one yesterday super ready for the reaction. I was a big fan of the SZA featured songs. Hope y’all are staying as stress free as you can. I’ll probably reply to this after watching but just in case, still throwing out Lizzy McAlpine.

Fidelí

We’re here!!!!!

Shiloh Cotto

i was about to go to bed but damn never mind 😂😂

Claudiu Ralea
