Sneak's Sketch Upgrade: October 2019
🕑 Added 2019-10-24 15:33:13 +0000 UTCWow, we made it to the next milestone already!? Craziness, I tells ya! Wellp, we got here at least for this month, and so to this month, we receive our just reward - Sneak's Sketch Upgrade!
How it works is plain and simple (and not too different from the PGP votes): I'll post a couple sample sketches from the past for your consideration, and everyone votes on which one gets to be upgraded to a full commission before the end of the month! Once voting ends, I'll pick the winner, and that pic becomes a free commission for everyone to view, separate from the zip file the 5+ tiers get every month! All you have to do is be a sub, and you're entitled to this upgrade as part of the package deal! Obviously, any edits or fixes to the sketch (accommodating for change in technique/style, and general misfires with the original piece) will be made both before and during the lining/coloring processes, so be prepared for the final product to be slightly different, but only in terms of overall quality (probably).
As an addendum, I will be offering the option at the bottom to vote for a write-in, but you have to suggest something in the comments, and - hopefully - some folks chime and say they agree with you. Four conditions have to be present for the write-in vote to take place:
1 - The write-in vote has to be the top voted option.
2 - There must be at least 3+ options in the comments to vote on.
3 - The write-in's must be pieces from my past Sketch Series' zip folders (dig in!)
4 - The options to vote on can only be for EC's (Established Characters). No OC's
I totally understand that there will be some grumbling at the concept of not being allowed to push for OC's to be upgraded to commissions, but there are a few reasons for that, which I will likely detail further in either a future update, or a Discord post (which I encourage you to join, if you haven't yet!), or both, for the sake of availability. I have to flesh them out in a clean-written format, and also, I didn't want to make this post too long. Long story short though, if there's a high enough demand for these kinds of upgrades in the month's to come, who knows? Maybe the next upgrade is specifically for OC's, we'll see!

EDIT: Should've clarified the write-in's need to be existing sketches from my Sketch Series, we're not creating something from scratch here, at least - not yet! :P
EDIT 2: Sorry! Forgot to specify these are 25 upgrades only! There will be higher-tier upgrades in the future, but for now, I want to ease into the process :D

I do save your sketches but on top of perusing them I’d have to sort through and see which for upgrades past sketches as well. So yeah tough call. Despite that there some good choices in the poll itself and between Elizabeth and Yang it was a tough choice

Solid feedback, it's a tough call because honestly, I can't really confirm whether or not people even save off the sketches to peruse through them later (Though, I'd assume they do, since they have to download the folder before they can unzip it). Perhaps I'll consider - in the future - simply asking folks what 25's they'd like to see in the next voting poll. Then I can keep popular votes from the prior poll, and add in any new ones that get suggested. That way, people have a chance to contribute beyond the initial vote, and actually have those contributions can be seen front and center the following month (or later in the month, if we get to more upgrade milestones)

Also,I could be misreading it, but you seem to talk about a write in vote as if it's a separate vote that will take place (in addition to this one if people support the idea enough in the comments and there's enough options). However, it's still an option in the current poll so what does voting for it now (above) do? Until someone posts a write in option no one is likely to vote for it when there's other clear cut options with provided links. As an alternative, why not have the write in options be a completely separate poll that takes place prior to ^^this one. The winner from that poll would become a contender with the options you chose. Right now, it's unclear what voting for write-in does, and no one will choose it anyways if there not enough (or any) options posted in comments, which will naturally take time for people to decide and browse past folders.

congratz on the milestone, Sneak. write in: Ritsuko_25 from Evangalion, at least I think it was a 25 :P I think she was chair tied, exposed, and tape-wrapped.

Shit, forgot to add it, this first upgrade tier is for 25's only >_< I'll edit that in! If you want to keep the write in vote, I'm sure I've got a couple Korra solo's in there somewhere :P
